But, I think Gladys will really work. If she doesn't have a diva attitude, she will seem like a vacation compared to Nancy.

I think they got picked in order of the star's fame. Melissa Gilbert wanted Maks.

Sherri Shepherd probably wanted Maks, too. But since he was taken, they offered her Val or Derek, & she picked Val.

Maria was next on the list, since both ET & Access Hollywood, which she was a host, will give her lots of coverage. She picked Derek.

Now see, I would take Lacey every day of the week over Chelsie and Anna. Can't stand either one. It did not hurt my feelings at all that Chelsie was out last season. She seems really down to earth that first year with Ty, but from the season with Louie on, she's gotten the Annatude of making the dance highlight her, not her partner. For the most part.

I think this looks like a fun cast. I see that ego maniac Maks is back too. I lost alot of respect for him with the way he treated Hope last season. I'm surprised his back actually. Hopefully Melissa will keep him in line.

Can't wait for it start! Now I just have to suffer through a couple more weeks of Ben the Bachelor.

Now see, I would take Lacey every day of the week over Chelsie and Anna. Can't stand either one. It did not hurt my feelings at all that Chelsie was out last season. Ugh, Anna makes me crazy! Last season with Carson, she finally was out diva-ed! Can't stand her though, at all. It's definitely an unfair disadvantage being paired up with her, she's so unlikeable and has the worst attitude. Her dancing is all about her, not her partner. Every season my MIL and I argue because she thinks Anna is amazing and I can't stand her!

You're right about Chelsie, she started out very genuine and down to earth. Now she appears to be taking nasty lessons from Anna. Who the heck is her partner anyway? Some Disney channel kid? ABC certainly enjoys casting at least one of them every season now, don't they.

She was talking about William Levy. I originally listed him as a dancer/model for J.Lo. So it seemed like he had more dance experience. he plays her love interest in it. I haven't seen the video but if his role in it was anything like Antonio Sabato jr., in Janet Jackson's old video, he there more for sexy eye candy than really dancing in the video.

Disney owns ABC, so they are going to promote themselves when they can.

BTW, on GMA, this morning, they announced the first Disney Cruise ship has just sailed up the Hudson River and will dock here for a few days I guess. All these Disney fans will be unleashed on my city. I wonder if I will see any hidden green Mickeys when I'm out & about?

Not a Lacey fan, but I agree with you about Kym. She seems so honestly nice and really wants her partners to succeed for their benefit, not based on how much attention and spotlight she will get from it.

I am excited to see Jaleel White. Does anyone remember when he was Stefan not Steve on the show. He was really suave, which was so surprising from the character he normally played. I wonder if he will come across that way. Wouldn't it be funny if little Steve Urkel became the DWTS heartthrob of the season?

Regarding Brook Burke Charvez rolleyes. I was really happy when someone replaced Samantha Harris (who didn't even seem to be able to master when to point the microphone at someone when they were answering her questions), but Brook has gotten just as annoying. She often seems confused and just asks the most insipid questions.

I love Tom Bergeron, he is so quick on his feet and has lots of impromptu one liners that he is able to get out as digs to the cast and judges. I think that the hosting of the show was at its best when Drew Lachey filled in when Samantha was pregnant many seasons back. They could really improve the non-dancing segments if they would get rid of Brook and put someone else in her place. Kenny Mayne and his Dance Center spoofs are cute, or maybe even Kyle Massey (I often have seen him in the audience since his season) he seems genuinely friendly and very upbeat about all of the competitors. If it has to be a woman in a pretty dress, then maybe someone with more spunk and attitude who wouldn't fumble around and would take charge like Mel B. or have a comedic slant like Kirstie Alley.

everyone in the cast seems likeable enough - though Melissa is kinda kookie - looks like a good year. At least no one is cast just for the hype. The Latin guy is hot and the Welsh singer is beautiful.
