The new cast of Dancing With The Stars

I'm surprised to see William Levy participating. He is a HUGE star in Latin America. Huge as in MEGA, MEGA huge. He has starred in several telenovelas. And now he'll be on a show where he's probably the least known in the cast, far from being "the star". I guess he thinks this will give him exposure in America and make him a star here; however, being that he has no following within American audiences I doubt he'll last long.

And I know I'm in the minority, but I can't stand Melissa Gulbert. She has such an enormous ego, plus remarks she made when she was without a man really turned me off. Saying things like she has no one and no reason to live when she has a little (at the time) son. She seems like she's an unpleasant human being. (runs to put flame suit on)

Martina Navratilova is a star/legend in tennis.
Donald Driver is a Superbowl champ
Gladys Knight is a 4 time Grammy winner, a Golden Globe nominee and was inducted in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Gavin Degraw is a popular singer
Sherri Shepherd is one of the stars on The View
Jaleel White's character as Urkel from Family Matters, was hugely famous.


This season is actually one of the show's better line ups when it comes to recognizable stars.

Jaleel White was a star 20 years ago.
Melissa Gilbert was a star 30 years ago. (unless you count made for TV movies. I don't)
They still make soap operas?
The only time I've ever heard anyone talk about The View is to mention how awful it is.
Tennis... that is a popular sport.
Superbowl champion. along with 40 or so team members. each year. for the last XLVI years.

I HAVE heard of, and have a lot of respect for Gladys Knight. But you know the *ahem* chronologically superior "stars" are the first to go.

Don't be too sure of that. When Giles Marini was on, probably the same could have been said for him as he was most famous for his nude, shower scene in Sex & the City.

Yeah, he has a chance to make an impact. But I'm sure it has to hurt some that the bit part in Jlo's video is listed as the high point in his carrer. They don't even mention he is an actor! AFAIK, he has never sang or danced. He's thing is acting. Oh, well, maybe it will pay off and be a good move carrerwise for him.
