Any new movies or series you recommend?

Couple more I thought I haven't seen mentioned

SweetTooth
The Long Way series with Ewan McGregor and his buddy Charlie Boorman. Just couple buddies riding motorcyles. First one is as least 10 years old but we enjoyed them. Never can get the order right but it is Long Way Up, Long Way Down, Long Way Around and Long Way Home.
If you like travel type shows try The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy

If you're into Breaking Bad you'll love the prequel, Better Call Saul. And if you liked Yellowstone you'll love 1883, Yellowstone's prequel. (1923 is another Yellowstone prequel, but looking back I didn't like it as much.)

I'm not watching too many current shows, but Only Murders In The Building and The Bear, both on Hulu, are 2 I really like. I also like Tulsa King and Mobland on Paramount+. Oh, and Call The Midwife and All Creatures Great And Small on PBS.

(I guess I'm watching more current shows than I thought!)

I loved Eugene levy in that.

We've seen a lot of movies in the theater this summer. Starting with the best and working down to our least favorite:

F1 (we're probably going to see this again--this is a fabulous movie and we saw it in IMAX!)
How to Train Your Dragon (loved it)
28 Years Later (very good but some scenes hard to watch)
Lilo & Stitch live action (I much prefer the animated version but this was okay)
Elio (a tie with above)
Edited to add: Mission:Impossible new movie (just OK)
Superman (awful and even the popcorn was bad)

I didn't see this but DH and stepson saw the new Jurassic movie and said it was okay, not amazing, but watchable.

On TV, the only new show we've seen that both DH and I have enjoyed is Riku Oh on Netflix.

Edited to add additional movie.

Shows my husband has liked recently that seem to be in this vein: Shoshun, Silo.

Also re Scotland and Castles and Outlander. We just got home from Scotland. I am not an Outlander fan. My husband is. We just happened to be in the area near a castle used in Outlander (Doune). So we decided to see it because why not see a castle. Turns out it was also the castle used for filming Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was super cool.

I booked a tour guide for my husband and kids when they were in Scotland, they of course loved that castle.

I know you want it for streaming, but if you travel by a theater, I highly recommend Superman! I saw it tonight and it is a spectacular movie!

I enjoyed it. I won't necessarily get into any kind of big spoilers. However, it was really odd to me that Lex Luthor had such a massive group of people working for him who must have known that what he was doing was illegal, and thus what they were doing was illegal. I certainly get how a lot of people might think that they're working a big company where the CEO is a well-respected figure. But not people surrounding Luthor and firsthand experiencing all the stuff that he's doing and even actively aiding and applauding Superman being successfully attacked (like they're playing video games) by Luthor's technology and minions. As well as knowing that what he's going to do will end up killing innocent people.

I don't think it's a big spoiler to say that Luthor had evil intentions. But previous incarnations limited the group of people who knew what they were to a few people.

They mention it in the movie....
Luthor's followers believe that he is going to usher in a technological utopia. It's almost like a cult. They don't care what is legal or what isn't.
I really thought Nicholas Hoult did a great job as Luthor! He was menacing, but they also let him chew up some scenery a bit like a good super-villain should!

Oh yeah. He just oozes contempt for Superman and everything he stands for. Also reminds me a a young Tom Cruise a bit.

As far as the spoilers go.....

Luthor had a huge number of people who must have absolutely known that what they were doing was highly illegal. Like the people (I think it was PlanetWatch?) controlling the Hammer of Borovia just absolutely causing havoc in Metropolis, and then shielding him. Of course the Hammer of Borovia entering their mobile base would be easily spotted, but that's an obvious plot hole. But it just seemed weird with a bunch of geeky guys applauding Superman being attacked without any concern that innocent people were likely to die from the collateral damage.

And it was rather satisfying seeing Mr. Terrific not holding back at the beach site with his T-Spheres, including the idiot scientists and techies (mostly wearing Aloha shirts) working for Luthor who weren't part of the security force. They were just as complicit. That scene reminded me of the scene of Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with his arrow. Maybe a bit less lethal.

Ok me again. 8-) Thought of a couple more

Being Human - the american version. Have not see the British version. If you saw Jungle to Jungle with Tim Allen years ago the guy who played mimi seecoo is one of the main characters.

Discovery of Witches

Tom Cruise does indeed ooze contempt for everything Superman stands for. 🤣

Ozark and Bloodline are great if you haven't watched yet. I've heard Mobland is very good.

I also enjoyed We were Liars. I don't think that's something a guy would like. It's more of young persons series, but I found it very entertaining.

Not new, but if you liked Breaking Bad, then I recommend Better Call Saul

We just finished Mobland and it was very good

I recently finished Squid Game and The Waterfront. Both were really good.
Also have enjoyed the following:

The Pitt
Fubar
Lincoln Lawyer
Virgin River
This is Us

I’m kind of looking forward to next year’s Supergirl. It’s kind of hard to explain, but this version appears to be a party girl who gets drunk (but can’t on Earth) to bury her sorrows. Apparently a total train wreck based on a comic series where Supergirl is very different.
