Any new movies or series you recommend?

We're going in Sept. for 2 weeks. I'm starting to think I'm the only person in the world who goes to Scotland NOT for the Outlander stuff! Everything seems geared toward the tourist who wants to see places from that book/show!
LOL I know what you mean. I am not a big castle guy. I mean they are cool to look at from the outside but not much into "touring them inside and out"

Yeah, I mean, maybe once, but if you've seen one, you've seen 'em all. I had that experience with the shrines in Japan. They are beautiful, and the grounds are beautiful, but they are also all somewhat similar. We didn't necessarily need to see more than one.

Yep I have a buddy that went to Scotland a few months ago so I asked him what are the must see's. He said he was a bad one to ask as he just looked for the nearest pub everywhere they went

One that was recommended to me that surprised me that I liked Nonas (?sp) on Netflex.

Both Yellowstone spin-offs, 1883 and 1923.
Both amazing!! And I have no intention of watching any of Yellowstone. lol

Severance is the best TV show I've watched in years. It's so good that I'd actually say it's worth getting Apple TV to watch (and I don't subscribe to ANY streaming services).
Severance, Ted Lasso, and my new favorite is Shrinking.!!

Silo on Apple TV is great - season 3 should be out soon - can't wait.
Can’t wait!!

Welcome to Wrexham is the real-life version of Ted Lasso and is really good (Hulu)
Love Wrexham!!

I recently started watching The Bear. It just had its 4th season.

Agatha Christie’s Toward Zero 2025 looks good too! Angelica Houston plays the matriarch and Matthew Rhys the detective. Loved him in The Americans, which at some point I want to watch that series again because it was superb.

Another series that never gets old is the original All Creatures Great and Small. Truly a masterpiece. Riveting and peaceful at the same time, great when you want to relax. They remade this but the original is in a league of its own.

Yep, that’s a good series. I have heard season 2 fell considerably when Pascal left the show.

I have only seen season 1 so far.
Tbh it does. A few people I know that watched the show stopped watching after episode 2. I'd love to know if show only watchers enjoy season 2 but I played the game it's based on and felt that a lot of the changes made were terrible.

I have not played the video game and had absolutely no clue Joel would die. The gamers did not spoil that little tidbit. I didn't want to watch anymore after episode 2, but kept with it. Watching the last episode later tonight. I think it's still good, but man I wish they went a different route. The show won't be the same. I felt like Joel and Ellie's relationship was the center of the show. I was shocked they killed Joel, but I understand they are following the video game closely so this was probably all planned out. I heard season 3 will focus on Abby so it seems like they will shift away from Ellie and the Jackson group.

I think most people agree with you as I read that the show had a 55% decline (or some number like that) in viewership compared to season 1. The writing was not as strong as season 1 at least in my opinion. I knew this season would be......controversial to say the least as the second game's release had a TON of debate surrounding the story but I did not expect it to be like....this.

I'm not someone that wanted a shot for shot recreation as that's boring but my biggest gripe with the show is that show Ellie and game Ellie are two completely different people. And that does negatively impact the story.

Late to the party with this one, but I have been downloading and watching "Veep" when I travel. Season one was OK - didn't really understand the hype. Then I started watching Season 2 - OMG is this show funny! It's like they were holding back in season 1 and really let lose going into season 2. JLD deserves all the accolades on this one.
