I am having a crummy day. I took Princess to Dollar Tree to get her out of the house - they have a TON of Winnie the Pooh stuff! But I digress...
SOMEBODY put an enormous ding on the Black Pearl. It is on the passenger front quarterpanel - it is down to the metal and the metal is actually dented in. I didn't notice it until we were home, and I don't know for sure that's where it happened.

Also got a call from DS. On the online grades last night I saw that he had a 33 in math for one paper. They are supposed to be allowed to re-do any paper and get a 70. Never any grades lower than 70 is what we were told at Open House. Well, he has a 33, a 56ish, and now today he was told he gets a ZERO for something but he doesn't know what it is! OK, I get that he has ADD but this "I don't know" is driving me over the edge. I was thinking of NOT going to the school tonight but now I am going to be forced to go find out what the HE,um,CK is going on. If the teacher KNOWS he has trouble WHY can't he pitch in just a little bit? I was dead set against Honors math to start with, and this is NOT changing my mind! :headache: DS also doesn't know anything about his band grade and doesn't know anything about an assignment in Social Studies that was showing as incomplete or another that was showing that needed to be made up by tomorrow. I don't think I have the strength to get through 6th grade. :sad2:

Sorry you had a bad day!

To those of us who have children in our lives,
whether they are our own,
grandchildren,
nieces,
nephews,
or students...
here is something to make you chuckle.

:lmao: Oh I needed that right now!!! Too funny!

Just back from Tae Kwon Do. I am so pooped!

Janet & Chanon, (& anyone else leaving tomorrow)
Safe travels!!!!
See ya Thursday!!!!

Janet,
Are you bringing capris? The weather forecast doesn't go below 70 at night...Maybe I'll throw 2 pairs in to be safe. It's cold here so I will be on the plane in long pants, & a sweatshirt. I am looking forward to the warm weather..I don't like cold. (nothing below 65!!!!! )

I don't have any capris. I'll be bringing one pair of pants that roll up to look like capris which I'll be wearing down. I'll bring one pair of pants (I get cold before others usually) and the rest shorts I think.

I have checked in & printed my boarding pass :yay:

Kristine, sounds like you and Bill are having a good time!

Too bad they don't have the Goofy statue back yet. I was bummed when I didn't see it when I was there.

V & A huh? OOOOH-LA-LA! Maybe someday when I win the lottery, or sell a few things on Evil-Bay;) I will make a ressie for DW and I!

I have about 20 hours of work to do before we leave at 5pm tomorrow night. I'm not sure it is going to get done. What do you think? I needed a break so I stopped in here to catch up. I still am not packed and I haven't ironed on our shirts. It shouldn't take me more than an hour to pack because I have a packing list that I created 4 years ago and I keep up-to-date after each trip. It is printed and on the counter. I've been adding things slowly since Sunday.

How'd it go getting a GI appt?

Not a whole lot of stuff the last couple of days:

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Virginia
I'm glad that I haven't missed Virginia's arrival! Will someone please PM me or e-mail me if I'm not around when it happens?

EVERYBODY(okay almost everybody) is getting ready to go to DW this weekend.
I'm another one of the "nobodies". ;) Have a great time EVERYBODY!

We've seen cute pics of a few of the DDA kiddos.
I will be looking back for these! I love photos!

Elin's Katherin has 2 job interviews today and tomorrow in Boston.
Good luck to Katherin!!!

Tammi's uncle passed and she is there for the viewing

Robyn's DH doesn't feel so hot and put a crimp in her day by being home (I think that happens to all of us)

Jen's grandpa is failing health wise:hug:

boy my brain is mush that's all I can remember.

Thanks for the recap.

Congrats!:yay:

Denise - I hope Rees can get in to the GI soon!!!:wizard:

To those of us who have children in our lives,
whether they are our own,
grandchildren,
nieces,
nephews,
or students...
here is something to make you chuckle.

Whenever your children are out of control,
you can take comfort from the thought that
even God's omnipotence did not extend
to His own children.

After creating heaven and earth,
God created Adam and Eve

And the first thing he said was
"DON'T! "

"Don't what? "
Adam replied

"Don't eat the forbidden fruit."
God said.

"Forbidden fruit?
We have forbidden fruit?
Hey Eve..we have forbidden fruit! "

" No Way! "

"Yes way! "

"Do NOT eat the fruit! "
said God.

"Why ? "
"Because I am your Father and I said so! "
God replied,
wondering why He hadn't stopped
creation after making the elephants.

A few minutes later,
God saw His children having an apple break
and He was ticked!

"Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit? "
God asked.

"Uh huh,"
Adam replied.

"Then why did you? "
said the Father.
"I don't know,"
said Eve.
"She started it! "
Adam said.

"Did not! "

"Did too! "
"DID NOT! "

Having had it with the two of them,
God's punishment was that Adam and Eve
should have children of their own.

Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

BUT THERE IS REASSURANCE IN THE STORY!

If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it,
don't be hard on yourself.

If God had trouble raising children,
what makes you think it would be
a piece of cake for you?

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT !

1. You spend the first two years of their life
teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend
the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.

2. Grandchildren are God's reward
for not killing your own children.

3. Mothers of teens now know why
some animals eat their young.

4. Children seldom misquote you.

In fact,
they usually repeat word for word
what you shouldn't have said.

5 The main purpose of holding children's parties
is to remind yourself that there are children
more awful than your own.

6. We childproofed our homes,
but they are still getting in.

ADVICE FOR THE DAY:

Be nice to your kids.
They will choose your
nursing home one day.

AND FINALLY:

IF YOU ! HAVE A LOT OF TENSION
AND YOU GET A HEADACHE,
DO WHAT IT SAYS
ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE:

"TAKE TWO ASPIRIN"
AND "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN"!!!!!

Chris and I really enjoyed this one :lmao:

:wizard: :wizard: Do you really need to do all 20 hours worth of stuff or can some wait for you to get back? We want you there and not exhausted.

I have been reading along, but my mind is not doing a good job of remembering everything. I wonder why :confused3

Safe travels tomorrow. We'll see you on Thursday.

Would someone please P.M me this weekends plans.

Weather is to be dry in the low 80's.

I like your weather report better than the ones that I've seen with temps near 90 and scattered storms. I don't have one cohesive itenerary, maybe someone else does. I've got 3 or 4 different ones to go by :goodvibes

I am home from conferences.

The math teacher said DS can make up the 33 and the 56, plus the page he missed yesterday while he was on a field trip. So that's all good. He also said if DS is earning a solid "C" in the class then he is doing fine and learning what he needs to learn. OK.

The Social Studies teacher explained what's up in her class. He still has one low grade for an incomplete assignment last Tuesday, but today he got a 95. Nobody seems to know what was incomplete last week. The group project that he got a low grade on wasn't entirely his fault so she said he can do some extra credit and make up some points for that.

The band director wasn't there and the brass instructor has no knowledge of anything that goes on in percussion, so there you have it. :confused3

Tia - None of my charges have ever had the lunchbox that clips to the backpack so I don't know how awkward it is. DS has a backpack that he takes on the plane that is sort of like that, but the part that clips on is still pretty shallow/flat. He also didn't ever use that backapck when he was little like Terra.

Janet - Yay for a boarding pass!:yay:

Vicki - I hope you get enough of your work done that you can relax!:wizard:

Hi, Beth! I am bummed about the Pearl, but it was bound to happen.:sad2: DH hasn't seen it yet.

Karen - Thanks for posting that!:)

Jo - Hang in there! Hopefully you will get a break soon!

Robyn I love the new signature picture. I hope that the off feeling isn't you coming down with what everyone around you has :wizard:

Thanks, it's not a sick feel it's more my emotions. I seem to be a funk and just can't get out of it. A lot of it has to do with the daycare kiddos. I love them but am burnt out and trying to find a way that I can make the same $$ but be home for the girls, WHICH IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE!

Thanks, Robyn.

I like your new picture!

Thanks Tammi!

Paula - I hope things are on the upswing with Bethie and her shots now.

I knew I was forgetting some...'s to you and Bethie.

Robyn-love your new sig picture!

im off to bed--have a greatn ight

Thanks Jen. Hope today wasn't so bad. How did dinner go?

Heidi - I am so glad you are having so much fun with your Mom and Dawn living so close!

Again, forgetting someone...that sounds so perfect for you Heidi. I for one would kill my mom and sister if I lived across the street from them ;)

So I am kicking myself in the tush. I was supposed to call three people tonight about work related issues. They are parents of girls or volunteers. All three said they needed to be called after 6:30pm or 8pm. Well I had a meeting tonight and totally forgot to call them. It was a volunteer meeting but still had me occupied. I will not call people I don't know at almost 10pm. 10pm is after 6pm or 8pm but I think it is too late to call total strangers.

Tomorrow the CEO is coming for lunch and to discuss the Strategic plan which the board recently approved. Plus I have a service unit meeting at night. I have a night meeting Tuesday-Thursday night.

I have to call the bank tomorrow as I cannot access my new account online.

Robyn- Love the new signature picture.

Thanks Becky. Sounds like you got a lot on your plate. Take it easy.

Robyn love the new picture

Thanks Jennifer. Hope your slow at work tonight so you can take it easy.

Everybody should have a PM waiting with their names for the ornament exchange.

A reminder $5 minimum before shipping and let's have the packages to their recipients before Thanksgiving.

Thanks all!!!

Thanks again for taking this on!! :goodvibes

Well, I don't understand why you just didn't have that baby to give them some work to do! :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

Good Morning DDA!

Phwew! It seems like forever since I have said this!

I am finally starting to feel better! Thanks for all the good thoughts!

The coughing has finally slowed down. I swear my ribs hurt so much from coughing, that I felt like I had exercised for hours on end!

Elin, thanks for posting Aiden's update! Yay!, He's coming home! Such great news!

Tammi, so sorry to read about your loss! Drive safely. Sounds like you have it all under control!

Robyn, your new pic of the girls is so cute! Leighanna misses you guys! She still asks me when Robyn and her family are coming over!

To all of you leaving soon on your trip, Have lots of fun!

Please take lots of pictures, so that the "few" of us not going can relive it in your memories!

I am going to list a couple of Leighanna's outfits that I made on Evil-Bay this weekend. I hope to make a few dollars for a down payment for a "proposed" trip either next summer, or possibly early December of next year! :woohoo:

To all those that I have missed, lots of prayers and pixiedust to you all!

Any size 4's gonna be in those auctions?!? ;) Links please. Glad you feel better. Tell Leighanna the girls miss her too. Keep your fingers crossed for this summer.

Robyn, your new signature picture is adorable!

Sending good thoughts your way, Jen!

Elizabeth, I'm still giggling over your Minnie dress story. :teeth:

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday! :wizard:

Is anyone going to Disney soon? ;)

Amy, Loved Matthew's scary face. He has such a great personality. The Cinderella twins were adorable!

Robyn, cute new siggy picture. :)

Thanks Heidi!

Good morning, DDA!

CUTE pic! I hope Eric feels better soon! (No extra people in your work space!) I hope that "off" feeling you are having goes away!:wizard:

He's fine. I honestly think he fakes it just to come home and annoy me!! :rolleyes1

Bernadette, hope Joe's eye is looking & feeling better :wizard:

Heidi happy to hear you are enjoying your mother & sister living close to you :goodvibes

Anne Marie, wait till the Christmas shopping really begins :rotfl: Glad you are enjoying your job, sounds perfect for you! I had a customer comment on my shirt yesterday that had Winnie The Pooh on it. We got to talking & he told me that he was a CM for 20 years working at the resorts. I would have loved to have chatted with him all day, but I don't think the customers behind him would have appreciated that lol I did ask him what he was doing here & he said he was getting tired of the constant heat & wanted to be where he could enjoy all 4 seasons, silly man :upsidedow

Robyn love your new signature picture!

Crazy man! Thanks Janet!
