Every good DISer plans, plans and plans some more for the precious few days you get in the parks.

They do? :confused3

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

But…As I have come to learn on these trips…we all have different perspectives on time…8:15 means 10:00 to lots of people, right? ;)
:eek:

Baker was not really into it. He stood there a little bit and got in some pictures, but he did not really seem to "connect" with Pinocchio very much. And he walked off pretty quickly after "meeting" Pinocchio.

chialphachitownanddisneybaker2024-1.jpg

But…he didn't run away. He didn't get upset. So that was something!
I'm glad Baker was able to stand with Pinocchio... even if for only a few moments.

We all walked down Main Street. Oh how I wish I could stand there right now…to hear the sounds…smell the smells…how wonderful it was…
I wish I was standing there with ya!

And it was about to get a lot more magical….
popcorn::popcorn::

Can't wait!

Liesa, I love the overview of your rules and your wishes --- what a wonderful idea! And that hat pic really isn't bad at all. I can't wait to hear all about Day 2 (even if it takes another few months to get through! ;))!

Maroo,, how cool that Pinocchio was there!

I'm going to post this here because most of the culprits from Jordan's thread are here - I got this from another DISer @Debbie Schultze on FB. Too funny not to share:

First Grader turned in this drawing to her teacher.....
The teacher graded it and the child brought it home.
She returned to school the next day with the following note:

Dear Ms. Davis,
...
I want to be perfectly clear on my child's homework illustration.
It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage in a strip joint surrounded by male customers with money.
I work at Home Depot and had commented to my daughter how much money we made in the recent snowstorm.
This drawing is of me selling a shovel.

:lmao:

Oh, this reminds me. A certain young man in our family had a little (okay, big) slip in church on Sunday. During the congregational prayer. :sad2:

Thanks for giving in to the chanting. That picture is really not bad. It looks like the boy to the left of the picture is laughing at you though.

You shouldn't have!!! :scared1:

It does look like he's laughing at me, but in reality he was gloating over his good fortune in seeing Harrison Ford's #1 Fan.

I am glad you put up the hat picture. :goodvibes

Potty talk :scared1::scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Maroo- Great start with Baker.

That was quite possibly the worst picture of me from the entire trip!

Yeah, it crops up once in a while. I would apologize, but I"m usually the instigator and am probably laughing hardest. :laughing:

Leisa -

I am copying and pasting your day one review and renaming it "words to live by" for our May trip. OMG! You had me :rotfl2:

Oh - and the next time you get tempted to be your own paparazzi - Don't!

Maroo - great pictures of Baker.

I think it's a perfect set of rules for any ladies' trip!! I know you are all going ot have such a wonderful time together! I do know you're all going to laugh until your sides ache!!

Yeah, certainly learned quickly on that one.

I don't think he is the only one who would be excluded , come'on Candi, Melody ,Judy whadda you say !!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I think it is a very nice pix Liessa;)

OH, you're TOO kind, Rosie. Really.

Liesa, I love the overview of your rules and your wishes --- what a wonderful idea! And that hat pic really isn't bad at all. I can't wait to hear all about Day 2 (even if it takes another few months to get through! ;))!

Maroo,, how cool that Pinocchio was there!

I'll try to keep track of the rules I broke and the wishes that were "granted" after each day. My top 10's were easily hammered out- and for that I was quite excited!!!

Day 2 should start in a day or so. I need a break from posting updates for a spell.

I'm going to post this here because most of the culprits from Jordan's thread are here - I got this from another DISer @Debbie Schultze on FB. Too funny not to share:

OMGosh!! Tammie, you should have given warning for that one. I think I scared the dog when I laughed out loud!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I almost choked on my mac and cheese just now.

I am fairly sure I have a paparazzi hat shot that tops that but really I agree, stick to your day job.

Going to have to go look at the rules again to see what Mary Ellen just signed us up for.

I thought I had posted before, but now maybe not - looks like such a special time for you at BD! You are quite the glamorous starlet! I liked Fantasmic, but I wouldn't want to discuss politics with a stranger while sitting there. You must be a "weirdo-magnet" like me. People feel compelled to start sharing way too much with me. Maybe there's a ministry there?

I'm glad you followed the rules for Day 1, and accomplished some of your goals too!:thumbsup2 Looking forward to more!

How about

McHairy FlashGlow

superpower: attracts her victims by flashing the goods...then uses her, radioactive powers to instantly have the hair on her feet grow longer than usual, and wrap the victim up and pull them into her clutches.

only known countermeasure to use against said supervillian is to carry a weed wacker around and turn it on at the site of the goods being shown to stand a chance.

so far villian has taken out 24 vacationers at WDW.

is said to be on the loose and residing somewhere along the northwest coastal area.
:scared1:

:worship::worship: Too funny Dan!:rotfl:

Fantasmic is always more interesting when you TORPEDO over seats:rotfl2:Of course before they make the annoncement NOT to seat hop!!!:lmao:

Are you adding to your entertainment repertoire?

Thanks for the perspectives! Henry is generally a timid kid-he so far hasn't been scared by any movies really, but we've been quite selective so far. After reading both of what you explained on the rides, I am thinking both will still be a no-go for H-Man. I will ride them both for sure to determine though. Snow White is a MUST since it will be closing at some point, probably before I get back!

I've heard of kids sorta changing their attitudes on things like that too Tim. It could be a million things...who knows! I agree with you both, you do need to push them a bit to face the fears, but also be aware of where that line is.

I'd love to hear others perspectives/results on it too!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Love it!!!

Nice re-cap Liesa! Looking forward to all those little things you have foreshadowed of.

How old is Henry? We had trouble with DGS, 3 at the time. Even though he loved Disney, and we "practiced" for what the rides would be like on our back yard glider, once at Disney, he had a hard time separating real from imaginary, and wouldn't ride anything that moved.:sad2: Papa stayed out with him and he would happily wave at the rest of us as we went by. We tried and tried to get him on things. He did ride Barnstormer, and turned all white and cried the whole time, while sitting with his mommy. After DLR, we headed to Discovery Island, and he was happy to ride the little jeeps and helicopters. We think it was because they seemed more "ordinary." :confused3 He is still a little timid about things at Chuck E Cheese and doesn't want to ride hardly anything at Sea World, and he is 6 now. We really did a number on him, I think.

This discussion of work at Disney World reminds me of one of the older podcasts. One of the guys were talking about how they had just moved to Florida and were at the Magic Kingdom. They decided to call sick into work so they could spend the rest of the day at MK....(this was pre-DIS obviously). This was back in the day of pay phones, so he's standing on Main Street, there was a pay phone in that little nook on the right where the tap lessons are, and just as he's explaining to his boss that he isn't feeling well the marching band strikes up and walks RIGHT past him. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good One!:rotfl2:

Ok, so I may have gotten this story from the DIS, but I have to re-tell.

There's this guy in a bar who has some pretty bad gas all built up, but knows he can't let 'em loose with out some noise. So he decides to let them out to the beat of the rather loud music. So he's sitting there- pop, pop-pity, pop, and everyone starts staring at him. It's not till then that he realizes that he's got his ipod in.......

:lmao::lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: I laughed out loud!

Scary as in the subject matter? Scary as in ???

Glad I get the good vibes, TK! :lmao:

I was trying to find the spot I needed to be for catch up, and just kept seeing random comments about farts and hairy feet and hats, and then these photos on the last page with people in various stages of ceremony or chanting or something - it was like one of those nightmares where nothing goes together or makes sense - a run-on story! :rotfl2:

I think I'm up to speed now, at least as much as I can be!:goodvibes

Maroo! A cliffhanger!!!! Arggggg! Sounds like it will be a good one though!

So glad Baker got to meet Pinocchio, even if he didn't really "connect" with him, like you said - at least he wasn't melting or crying. :thumbsup2

This family has been known to roll in around 10:30 more than once as well....he he. In September it hardly matters, no crowds! :woohoo:

That is HILARIOUS!!!! I almost choked on my coffee!

Henry is 3 as well....he loves rides though, thankfully! This will be his 6th trip to WDW...:rolleyes1 Snow White and the Haunted Mansion make me nervous for him because he's fairly timid and I do think he would get scared at the things that pop-out - I haven't been on either myself. I am going to go the route of me riding solo to check it out, then if I think H can handle it/enjoy it, we'll do it together. Otherwise, we'll just skip it for a future trip with him! I think he's tall enough now for BTMRR and Splash, so I gotta see what he thinks about those. Watching a YouTube of BTMRR he said he wanted to try it....but we had the same "white face crying" ordeal on Barnstormer when he was 2....so roller coasters make me more nervous. He LOVES Test Track though, so who knows!! I gotta do some more prep with explaining the rides and showing videos I think.

Thanks for sharing your story and experience!!!!!! :hug:

Oh puh-leeeeze you two. Lemme guess... you two politely excuse yourselves to the men's room to "air out". BE CREATIVE!! Save em up for making sure no one attempts to hork your parade spot. Provide sound effects for Snow White's Scary Adventure, teach your kids about centrifugal force on the tea cups. ;)

Hey now, don't go knocking Advanced Tactical Flatluence.

I agree! "Crop dusting" is an important tool in the arsenal. Perfect for those folks that won't move all the way to the end of the row in the auditoriums... :rolleyes1

You should have had Kraft. It's the cheesiest.

Cleaning toilets is almost as scary. Almost.

Yes!! You better know before you go.

I am a nutcake magnet. And yes, sometimes there is a place for minstry. Sometimes that's a listening ear, sometimes an encouraging word, sometimes an exhortation that might be tough to hear. ;)
I'm glad you followed the rules for Day 1, and accomplished some of your goals too!:thumbsup2 Looking forward to more!

Are you adding to your entertainment repertoire?

Self-portraits are definitely NOT my gig!!

I was trying to find the spot I needed to be for catch up, and just kept seeing random comments about farts and hairy feet and hats, and then these photos on the last page with people in various stages of ceremony or chanting or something - it was like one of those nightmares where nothing goes together or makes sense - a run-on story! :rotfl2:

It's quite an ecclectic mix of gobbleygook over here sometimes. Like I said about nutcakes... :laughing:

I did warn you - the heading said, "too funny" :rotfl2:

I should have taken it WAY more seriously! :lmao:

Nice! Did I tell you I was shooting the .22 this weekend. And got a bullseye first shot?? Just so ya know, I have a variety of talents aside from those you've mentioned. :wizard:

You mean it is not normal to Pole Dance on monorails, lap dance Pigs and torpedo into people at Fantasmic !!!!:confused3;):lmao: I blame it all on Jordan !!!:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Maroo~
You can't stop there! I don't think I have seen Pinocchio at a meet and greet. Only in the parade. So cool that he was there for Baker to meet.

And getting to the parks at 10:30!:scared1:

I wondered if I just had not paid much attention...but I did not recall ever seeing him either! Now I sorta wish I had taken a picture with him, too. :confused3

I know...10:30...I was really getting stressed on that one...but it worked out...

Oh, this reminds me. A certain young man in our family had a little (okay, big) slip in church on Sunday. During the congregational prayer.

Thanks for giving in to the chanting. That picture is really not bad. It looks like the boy to the left of the picture is laughing at you though.

:rotfl2:

Maroo, how magical is that that Baker's favorite was at the front of the park when he first arrived! Awesomeness!

It was really cool!

Maroo- Great start with Baker.

Thanks! :)

Oh - and the next time you get tempted to be your own paparazzi - Don't!

Maroo - great pictures of Baker.

Thanks! :)

Maroo, how wonderful that Pinocchio, Baker's favorite, was right inside the MK when you arrived. :goodvibes

It was so cool! :)

Maroo what a great start to the day for Baker !! If I had to guess he probably will recall with more excitment later his meeting of Pinocchio!!!:hug:

He has certainly recalled Disney in general!

They do? :confused3

:rotfl2:

:eek:

I'm glad Baker was able to stand with Pinocchio... even if for only a few moments.

It is coming up tomorrow! :) Maybe tomorrow morning if I don't have to go to work. We had a "winter storm" today and have a whole inch of snow on the ground. :rotfl2: time to get a shovel!!!

Maroo! A cliffhanger!!!! Arggggg! Sounds like it will be a good one though!

I have some crowd pictures coming up, actually........ :surfweb:

that was a great meet with pinoccio, hope the rest are as good.
:thumbsup2

I will have some more up tomorrow night!!

I am excited to hear the next chapter to the Baker story!!! That will be your "M" right?? After that, I"ve got my "M". M is for: My Massive Mug-Related Moronic Moment!!

Not in a million years. Well, ok, if you beg me. But it really is B.A.D.

OK, OK!!!!

This is what I get for trying to be my own Paparazzi!

LiesaDay1199.jpg

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Wow, you ARE a pushover! Beg, chant, and you shall recieve!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Liesa, that's not a bad picture! You just look a little concerned - like you're thinking, "hey, who dat trying to take my picture!?! Oh, its just me;)"

Maroo, please come back and tell us what happened next! Did Baker get really excited when he saw the castle?

The boy on the left does look like he's laughing at Liessa and the one on the right looks like she/he can't believe what he/she is seeing !!!:rotfl2:

Finally all caught up! I think I was around 11 pages back before I found the end of what I had read before. :eek: I guess that's what I get for working on a TR update and grading Contest questions.

Too much to remember to comment on, but here are a few:

Rosie's Mom giving her life advice, but not accounting for little ole me!!! :guilty:

Your latest feet pictures HAVE looked a little more well maintained. You do realize THAT lake water exposure could probably have had an affect that requires you to do less to keep them up??? :confused3

Your Brown Derby update - very touching memory!

Fantasmic expectations and it NOT blowing your socks off - what about your shirt??? :rolleyes1

The radiation monitor being so sensitive it went off when the bus went by....I have a radiation monitor sensitivity story I wish I could tell, but this IS a family oriented message board, even if flatulence, pole and lap dancing, and flashing newly "made" friends are common topics!!! :rotfl:

As for the hat picture, I was going to ask if the young man on the left of the picture wasn't just another one of those adoring fans, like the little girl at Brown Derby??? :)

And Maroo, another nice Baker update. So cool he got to see Pinocchio. Can't wait to hear the rest of the magic!!! :banana:
