Oh puh-leeeeze you two. Lemme guess... you two politely excuse yourselves to the men's room to "air out". BE CREATIVE!! Save em up for making sure no one attempts to hork your parade spot. Provide sound effects for Snow White's Scary Adventure, teach your kids about centrifugal force on the tea cups. ;)
Hey now, don't go knocking Advanced Tactical Flatluence.

OK, OK!!!!

This is what I get for trying to be my own Paparazzi!

Am I the only one wondering if the CM over your right shoulder has sprouted a wooden leg?

Ok, so I may have gotten this story from the DIS, but I have to re-tell.

There's this guy in a bar who has some pretty bad gas all built up, but knows he can't let 'em loose with out some noise. So he decides to let them out to the beat of the rather loud music. So he's sitting there- pop, pop-pity, pop, and everyone starts staring at him. It's not till then that he realizes that he's got his ipod in.......

:lmao::lmao:

Nope, that's the baby needs something, but the post made me feel good, so you get the good vibes! :lmao

It was the first morning for Baker's big trip! The first real day for them! I woke up early with an agenda…popcorn::

Every good DISer plans, plans and plans some more for the precious few days you get in the parks. Add the fact that this was their first and probably only trip to Disney - the pressure mounts to plan well. Add Baker's autism to the equation and you basically come up with a pretty motivated Maroo…We gotta get GOING this morning and get to the parks!! :woohoo: :yay: I was concerned about the lines. And crowds. :scared1: And fitting EVERYTHING in….:upsidedow

But…As I have come to learn on these trips…we all have different perspectives on time…8:15 means 10:00 to lots of people, right? ;)

Although I really, really wanted them to see rope drop at the MK, I had to be ok with getting there a lot closer to 10:30. :upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow

We went to Guest Services first to get Baker a GAC. For those of you guys new to the disability side of Disney Trips - this is basically a card that gives CM's information about what Baker's needs are so that we don't have to explain it to every CM we meet at an attraction. Baker qualifies for a pretty "high" level of assistance because he has obvious autistic tendencies and really can't wait in much of a line without a meltdown that would disrupt other Disney visitors and really upset Baker.

But with that checked off the list...it was time to enter the MK!!

A little background…

Baker LOVES Pinocchio. When I was planning the trip, his Mom said it was one of his favorite Disney movies. In fact, it was one of only three movies that I had loaded on my old iPhone so that he could be distracted in line - that's how much he loves that movie!

So when we walked through the MK gates the very first thing his Mom sees is Pinocchio! This was such a great "sign" for her...she was so very encouraged that Baker could meet him!

Pinocchio is his FAVORITE!! I didn't remember ever seeing Pinocchio in the parks, personally, so I was super excited that Baker's favorite was right there!!

The line was not long at all - so we jumped in it.

They had their pillowcases made by teresajoy (thanks again, Teresa!!) out and ready for Pinocchio to sign.

This was Baker's first character meet…His first time to see these big LIVE versions of the movies he loves so much…so we had high hopes for this meeting…but we also had measured expectations…we had NO idea how he would react to the characters.

Baker was not really into it. He stood there a little bit and got in some pictures, but he did not really seem to "connect" with Pinocchio very much. And he walked off pretty quickly after "meeting" Pinocchio.

But…he didn't run away. He didn't get upset. So that was something!

We all walked down Main Street. Oh how I wish I could stand there right now…to hear the sounds…smell the smells…how wonderful it was…

And it was about to get a lot more magical….

Maroo~
You can't stop there! I don't think I have seen Pinocchio at a meet and greet. Only in the parade. So cool that he was there for Baker to meet.

And getting to the parks at 10:30!:scared1:

Oh, this reminds me. A certain young man in our family had a little (okay, big) slip in church on Sunday. During the congregational prayer. :sad2:

Thanks for giving in to the chanting. That picture is really not bad. It looks like the boy to the left of the picture is laughing at you though.

Maroo, how magical is that that Baker's favorite was at the front of the park when he first arrived! Awesomeness!

I am glad you put up the hat picture. :goodvibes

Potty talk :scared1::scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Maroo- Great start with Baker.

Leisa -

I am copying and pasting your day one review and renaming it "words to live by" for our May trip. OMG! You had me :rotfl2:

Oh - and the next time you get tempted to be your own paparazzi - Don't!

Maroo - great pictures of Baker.

Maroo, how wonderful that Pinocchio, Baker's favorite, was right inside the MK when you arrived. :goodvibes

Maroo what agreat start to the day for Baker !! If I had to guess he probably will recall with more excitment later his meeting of Pinocchio!!!
