I was wondering the same thing all the sudden it is regular news. They are probably just taking a break.

Does anyone know how they send the ropes to the dockmaster? I only went on a cruise once when i was little and never got the chance to see how its done.

If you mean how do they get those big ropes from the ship to the dock--they throw out little ropes with something on the end like a ball that are tied to the big ropes. Then the dock workers pull on that while the ship crew reels them out the big ropes. When they get to the big part they loop it over to the mushroomy-things on the pier. Some places a few dock workers are in rowboats to catch the little ropes or any that fall in the water.

A smaller line is thrown to the dock person, when they have that. several people will haul the line, to the Ballard.
