When you walk through the front door of the Christmas store as you turn right and continue to look at all the decorations and merchandise there is a display case of goodies on the left.

The top shelf has Wicked desserts. There is Glinda’s pink wand on the left and Gravity green pops and pink Glinda pops and some macarons. If you have not walked through the Wicked experience across from Today Cafe at the studios it is well worth a visit if you are a Wicked fan.

If you have someone you know that is a Wicked fan there is a lot of merch available there also.

I always enjoy going into Seuss Landing. It is so fun and colorful.
IMG_5254.jpeg

My first ride of the day was going to be Cat in The Hat. This is a cute little ride and also a great way for a little respite from the heat.

After the Cat in The Hat I walked next door for
IMG_5262.jpeg

You can see one of the Fish on the circular fence that surrounds the ride with a stream of water coming from its mouth.
IMG_5260.jpeg

I remember the first time I rode this ride a few years ago and I did get pretty wet. My younger sister called me while I was at the park and asked what I was doing. I told her about just getting off the ride and being wet.

She told me the trick to not getting wet was listening to the Instruction song as it told you when to go up and down to avoid the water.

Of course I was not listening to the music…….LOL……..I wondered how all the little ones and their parents were dry……..LOL……

So this time I listened to the music and was nice and dry when I got off the ride.

I think the rides in what I call the children’s area are so cute and lots of adults ride them. I think we are all kids at heart no matter how old we are.

I have fond memories of spending time riding all the rides here at IOA and the Studios with my youngest grandchildren. I brought them here for vacation for years and we had the best time.

I walked past The Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-Pendous. This is such a colorful fun place to look at. I took my grandchildren here for a meal many years ago. It was not great, but not bad either. We just never made a point of coming back as there were other places they liked to eat better.
IMG_5263.jpeg

Then it was onto The High in The Sky Trolley Train. There is an inside track and an outside track to choose from. I chose the inside track which takes you inside Circus McGurkus restaurant and some outside areas also.

After I was done with the Trolley ride I walked past Green Eggs and Ham. I have always said I would stop and try something from there, but have never done it yet.
IMG_5268.jpeg

I decided to do lunch a little earlier than I usually do. The park was getting really busy and I wanted a break from the heat.

One of my favorite places to eat at in IOA is Confisco Grille. So I headed to Confisco and there was only one other family in the restaurant.

It was nice and cool inside. I was asked if I wanted to set outside and it was a definite NOOOOOOO….So I was seated and my waitress showed up and I ordered a Coke Zero.
IMG_5253.jpeg

I ususlly get a couple of appetizers and eat what I want of those.

The Ahi Tuna Nachos are really good. I also like the Hummus, but they only had the Summer Hummus so I skipped that. I just like plane Hummus. I asked my waitress for another appetizer suggestion and she recommended the Quesabirria.

So I ordered the Ahi Tuna Nachos and the Quesabirria.

The Ahi Tuna Nachos were delicious as always.
IMG_5252.jpeg

Quesabirria was delicious. The meat was tender and seasoned well. It was served hot which is always a plus. I tried the sauce and it was ok, but not for me. It was a bit thick and did not have a lot of flavor to it, but the Quesabirria meat was delicious on it own.

I really enjoyed my lunch. I had a wonderful waitress who was attentive, but not overly so. The food was good and the AC was nice.

Before I left the restaurant was beginning to fill with folks who were ready for lunch.

Wednesday, May 7th continued

When I walked out of the restaurant……… wow…..the heat and sun was intense, I’am pretty much used to the weather in Florida this time of year, but I will say this was a pretty hot day for the first part of May.

I decided to head to Marvel Super Hero Island.

I wanted to ride Spider-Man.

I do like this ride. The ride did not appear to be busy from the appearance on the outside. I entered the Express line and walked around to the area that leads to the ramp before you get to the loading area. There were quite a few people in this area and I think I waited about 15 minutes.

I enjoyed the ride and after I was done I continued on to Cartoon Lagoon. I stopped into the AP lounge and picked up my pin and magnet.

There was a lot of discount merchandise for sale in the AP lounge.

Betty Boop was out for photos and I stopped to say hi.
IMG_5276.jpeg

I wanted to ride Kong so continued on.
IMG_5278.jpeg

When I arrived to ride Kong the ride was down.

I do like to stop for a ride on Kong as long as the wait time in the Express area is not long.

There is a little bit of a walk that leads to the Express area and you do not know how long the Express line is until you reach it.

I have made it back there a few times over the years and decided to walk back out if the Express line is too long.

You do wear 3D glasses for this ride and I have always taken mine off to look at Kong at the end of the ride. It is better without the glasses.

There are also two routes that can be taken on the ride. One takes you directly into the cave and the other takes you slightly around to the left in the outside and then enters the cave.

The bus you ride on can be a little jerky from side to side, but nothing terrible.

Well no ride on Kong today so I continued on through Jurassic park area.

There were a lot of people sitting down on the walls and anywhere they could sit fanning themselves because of the heat.

I was in not big hurry so I just did my usual saunter.

The beverage carts were doing a big business…..Its was good to see folks were trying to stay hydrated.

Wanted to mention that you can get free ice water from the areas that sell the soft drinks in cups.

Also if you have a water bottle you can get water from the freestyle machines.

I was glad to reach Hogsmeade.

I have taken photos of the snowman countless times and never really paid attention to the twig beard.

It is magical to see a snowman in 97 degree weather.
IMG_5281.jpeg

I did stop into the Hog’s Head for a respite from the heat and a lemonade and water.
IMG_5282.jpeg

There was a Pigeon enjoying a crouton on the floor absolutely unbothered by anyone walking around it.
IMG_5285.jpeg

IMG_5287.jpeg

Of course I had to stop and have a look at he Hog’s Head which one should do when in the Hog’s Head Pub. The bartender gave his nose a scratch and and the head moved as ususal.
IMG_5288.jpeg

The design team did such a wonderful job with all the buildings in Hogsmeade. The wonky roof tops and chimneys are awesome.
