Shaken, Not Stirred, With a Twist of Pixie Dust! A Food and Wine Trip!NEW! Pgs.75,76

I so agree with MEK Chelsea is becomming such a youg lady I wasn't even sure that was her in the first picture. Conner is as adorable as always with his creating.

Loving the adventures of Haddon & Ingrid, I don't have elves at my house but I do have two new kittens, I believe they get into more mischief than elves.

Looks like you're all ready for Christmas at your house especially Charles with his red toenails, tell him I got that color too !!

Too funny on the toenail painting! Your elves are such the pranksters....
Here's my question, is the polish still on Charles's tootsies?

Wow, I would NEVER have convinced my DH to paint his nails! Fun stuff!!

What fun little visitors! I'm anxious to hear if they went to the movie with you. We were going to take our 4yo for her first time, but we were all recovering from illness. Blech! Hoping for next weekend!

Just popping over to say good morning and once again proclaim my innocence concerning any idea that the elves might have had in painting the toenails of a nice, normal American man!

We have two and a half days left with students. They leave at lunchtime on Thursday, but teachers have to stay until Friday afternoon. I will finally have time to think about the things I need to do/get for our trip, so thankfully I still have next week.

Hope you have a good rest of the week at your school. At this stage of the game for elementary kids, it's just crowd control. They are beside themselves with thoughts of Santa, although some of them are questioning his existence. I have a couple of naysayers in this group, but for the most part, it seems like they're still pretty willing to believe. I just use my old stand-by: Santa brings your presents until you stop believing, and then your parents take over the job when you are older. That seems to have worked so far in all the many years I've been saying it. No further questions are asked and both the believers and the non-believers seem satisfied.

Have a good day down there in GA!

Hey! I see a familiar Christmas card in that last picture!

Yep, it's yours. :goodvibes

Those elves are just so creative! I especially love the toenail painting. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

The kids were cracking up when they saw their daddy's toes the next morning.

Aww those elves sure are adventurous!! Loving it!! Hope you enjoy your movie afternoon!!!!!!!

We had a great time at the movies!!! I think I need to go see The Princess and the Frog again soon.

Now I'm really curious! Are you going to keep us in suspense until you start the ptr?

The elves have gotten themselves into a lot at your house. I love that they painted Charles' toes :lmao:

Well, nothing is ever set in stone until I make an actual reservation. Hopefully I will be doing that after Christmas.

Haddon and Ingrid have definitely been busy.

Looks the elves are having a good time at your house. It must be nice for them to relax and have some fun after working so hard at the north pole all year.
The cookies look great. We're baking ours today.

They are having lots of fun after their months of toil in the North Pole. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Haha! Those elves really crack me up! I love seeing all the mischief they are getting into!!!!! I also enjoyed the pizza pictures and, just as I suspected, Chelsea is already starting to look older than she did 6 months ago. She is totally changing right before our eyes. She is becoming quite the lovely young lady.

I am looking forward to hearing about your summer plans. I am very curious about when you are going and where you've decided to stay.

I am amazed at how much Chelsea is changing this year. Every day I think she looks a little more grown up.

I think, at this point, I may put all of the 2010 vacation ideas into a hat and just pull one out. I am very frustrated with my indecision.

All caught up on your updates!! I love the Christmas elves, what fun. Can't wait to read more and have a wonderful Christmas!!

Melissa

Hi, Melissa! The elves are very busy this time of year -- it's wearing me out.

Your elves are too cute! I know your kids love seeing what all they get into each day. What a great way to pass the days up until Christmas. My DD is already driving me nuts with the "How many more days 'till Christmas?" nagging! I may have to find some elves of my own or some other activity to keep her mind occupied! We have always done a Santa beard countdown calendar with cotton balls (glue a cotton ball on his beard each day to cover the numbers). But this year she is just REALLY excited. She is almost six, so I guess that is the age that they really get into it. Would you mind if I used your elf idea and purchased Ingrid and Haddon's cousins?:lmao:

I definitely think you should "adopt" some of Haddon and Ingrid's cousins. If you search Magic Elves on the Internet, it should pull up the site.

the pizza and cookies look yummy! i made heath bar cookies, chocolate cherry chunkies and gooey butter cake yesterday. today i'm making a huge batch of turkey chili. not very christmas-y but it's still good!

YUM! I could make a pig of myself on all of your goodies!

:lmao: that's great! ray has had his toenails painted, too, but elves weren't involved. just a few adult beverages. :rolleyes1

That's awesome!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Oh I love those elves!! :lmao: Charles sure is a good sport! I can guarantee there is no situation in which Greg would ever let me paint his toenails (including adult beverage consumption!)

I was rather surprised that he agreed so willingly.

Isn't that great? I wish I could have had video of Chelsea and Connor laughing their heads off when Charles showed them what had happened.

It was great, we all loved it! My stomach hurt from laughing untill I cried.

It looked like it would be a very funny movie. I adore Seth Green.

Okay okay okay.. SO your husband let you (cough.. er... ELVES) paint his toe nails??!! :lmao: OMG... first he sleeps on the pavement at Epcot, and now this.... :rotfl:

Charles is one of a kind in many ways. :lmao:

Your cookies look adorable! I frosted and made several kinds this weekend. I cut out and baked all my sugar cookies. Decorating those tomorrow. I have to pack them all up for friends, etc. this week... I will take all the photos for you! So what are your new plans!!?? I can't wait to hear....;)

You must be up to your eyeballs in Christmas and trip preparations.

New plans? There are only about five different sets of plans that are being considered. I am so torn as to what we want to do exactly.

Hmmm...I was wondering J if H & I could use their elf magic to head up north cause I could use a pedicure and they look like they do a pretty nice job...Charles' toes are looking pretty good there...:lmao:

I will have to tell Charles you said so because he kept fussing that it wasn't being done neatly.

Sweet Bella...she must be really good natured...:goodvibes

She is extremely good-natured. Haddon and Ingrid knew she would be cooperative whereas with Nala they would have run the risk of being eaten. That could have been a catastrophic discovery for Chelsea and Connor!

I love that Connor was "creating"...David is going to be "creating" a gingerbread house if Emily can back off and just let him do his the way he wants to...(she is a little OCD...and likes things to be done a certain way...control issues...

Sounds a bit like my Chelsea. She couldn't help making a couple of comments to her brother about his cookies.

Wow you really can see Chelsea growing up...she's is lovely...all those good teenage times right around the corner...:rolleyes1
:surfweb:

We have already had a couple of rough patches. :sad2:

What a great update!! You had me laughing hard. I can not believe Charles let you paint his nails. What a trooper! I have to say that I LOVE your elf idea. When did you start it with the kids? If you dont mind, I may use it for my family. My in-laws just gave the kids "Dasher" and "Dancer" stuffed reindeers. That would be perfect to start the tradition. Can't wait to see what they are up to next!

Dasher and Dancer could have a lot of fun!

The elves are relatively new to us -- this is our third year with them visiting.

I have a newfound respect for Charles. Red is definitely his color. :thumbsup2

:lmao: I was pretty impressed with Charles myself.

I'm not sure if you put it in here, did you watch Prep and Landing? I thought it was adorable! I've actually watched it twice now, we recorded it. :goodvibes

We did and loved every minute of it. I think the reindeer (including Thrasher) were my favorites!

I love all your elf updates! Looks like they are really enjoying the season at your place. :)

Yes, they are living it up down here in Georgia!

Welcome back! Thank you so much for the lovely postcard from the Boardwalk!

:rotfl: Great update, Jackie! I am sitting here laughing. Looks like it was a fun couple of days at your house! :rotfl:

We have been having a good time. Wait until you see the elf antics for this week.

I so agree with MEK Chelsea is becomming such a youg lady I wasn't even sure that was her in the first picture. Conner is as adorable as always with his creating.

Thank you! :goodvibes

Loving the adventures of Haddon & Ingrid, I don't have elves at my house but I do have two new kittens, I believe they get into more mischief than elves.

I will stick to my elves, thank you! I do think kittens are more mischievious.

Looks like you're all ready for Christmas at your house especially Charles with his red toenails, tell him I got that color too !!

Very festive color! :lmao:

Too funny on the toenail painting! Your elves are such the pranksters....
Here's my question, is the polish still on Charles's tootsies?

Charles finally got around to taking it off on Saturday.

Wow, I would NEVER have convinced my DH to paint his nails! Fun stuff!!

I was rather surprised that Charles agreed!

What fun little visitors! I'm anxious to hear if they went to the movie with you. We were going to take our 4yo for her first time, but we were all recovering from illness. Blech! Hoping for next weekend!

The elves did come with us to the movies and enjoyed The Princess and the Frog as much as we did!

I hope you are all feeling better soon and get to go this next weekend. It is an awesome movie!

Charles' toenails..what a good sport!

It was a classic moment in elf legend!!! :lmao:

Just popping over to say good morning and once again proclaim my innocence concerning any idea that the elves might have had in painting the toenails of a nice, normal American man!

But, MeMom, you said...;)

We have two and a half days left with students. They leave at lunchtime on Thursday, but teachers have to stay until Friday afternoon. I will finally have time to think about the things I need to do/get for our trip, so thankfully I still have next week.

Hurray for only two and a half days. We have three and a half at this point.

You better start thinking soon, your trip will be here before you know it. :goodvibes

Hope you have a good rest of the week at your school. At this stage of the game for elementary kids, it's just crowd control. They are beside themselves with thoughts of Santa, although some of them are questioning his existence. It's crowd control here, too. My 6th graders took their final yesterday, and we did our class spelling bee today. I don't really understand why it is necessary to talk at the top of your lungs when you are sitting next to the person, but apparently that is how this group of 6th graders communicates.

We will so be watching a movie tomorrow.

Seventh grade takes their final tomorrow.

Then, we are watching movies in those classes, too.

I keep threatening them with the naughty list, but most of their responses involve things like, "I've been on the naughty list for years."

Middle schoolers have no fear whatsoever.

I like your reasons with the elementary school kids. :thumbsup2

Hope your school day is moving quickly!

Thanks to the one who started this Thread....
Merry Christmas!!!:yay:

You're welcome. :goodvibes

Jackie, I can't wait to hear all about your summer plans. I suppose you will spill while we are gone...
So I'll be checking your thread!

Hopefully I will be spilling while you are gone! I hope I don't have to wait until after the new year. I might implode if I have to wait much longer.

Friday is our last day as well -- counting the nanoseconds down here in Georgia!

Charles toenails reminded me of something....

My dh has something against clipping his toenails...some sort of wierd phobia. So, I bug him alot about it because the get to be more claw than nail if I don't.

One day last summer, he had worked overnight and was asleep durring the day. I just happened to notice his foot sticking out of the sheet. I thought if they're going to be long, they might as well be pretty. so, I painted them a nice shade of hot pink.

After he got up I was just waiting for him to notice...preparing to run for my life.;) He went in to take a shower about 5 minutes later I heard him yell from the shower " Cherie!! That is NOT funny!"

personaly, I thought it was hillarious!:lmao:

Personally, I think it is hilarious as well!!! Charles better be careful about his toes sticking out from the covers from now on. ;)

That is hillarious! :rotfl: I also think Charles' toenails are adorable.

Thanks! :rotfl:

Oh you know it! Roz is my favorite character --- very administrative-ish!!!! :rotfl:

I love Roz, too! Especially the dry voice of hers.

I suspect you are a much more stylish and upbeat administrator than Roz. :goodvibes
