WELCOME Marybeth,
nice to have more people joining in the fun here:goodvibes
Looking forward to meeting both of you.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I just read the week we are at Key West on our cruise later this month is a Pirate festival:woohoo: :woohoo: I am going to research and see what special events they have going on that day:thumbsup2

It's hot and windy here, but so far no fires. I hope everyone in the greater LA area is doing alright. It looks bad.

Thanks for posting the menus - That really brought back yummy memories:lovestruc I loved the soups the most. I would often skip the appetizer and have both the hot and the cold soup instead:rotfl: . I liked the different desserts with fruit, etc and the ice cream sundaes. The cake type things were not that exciting. I did miss having a nice fresh salad toward the end of the trip. Otherwise, no complaints here on the food for the EB TA 2007.

Joanne!
That's GREAT that the captain will let your kids steer the ship for awhile one day!!

I'm sooooooo happy to hear that they'll be doing baked alaska table side in parrot cay one night!!!

Martha!!
Kudos to YOU for finding the free laundry coupons for the cruise!!!

FmrWonderCrusR:

I think you've got it right!! :)

Barb: I'm Sooooooooooooo glad your peach didn't have to wash her own uniform after school!! It's only fair considering what she's been through!!!

:goodvibes

Sarah,

I can't believe you typed in ALL of those menus! Thank you so much :worship: :flower3: . Even if we get different menus, this will give us a fantastic idea of what will be served.

It is bad. Fortunately, we are not close to any of the fires (yet)! Lots of ashes in the air.

Take care & Be careful! We had to evacuate last year for the SD fires. It is so the ash & smoke in the air make everything so eerie. If you have a pool, turn your pumps off so they don't get jammed with the ash.

We went to DLP in October. How many days are you going to the parks? Did you get a package that includes admission?

Woody

We are staying at the Marriott Vacation Club at Disneyland Paris for a week next May after the Celebrity Solstice TA. How many days do you need for the parks there?

The fires in CA have been horrific this year. A good part of May, pretty much all of June & most of July up here in the foothills were horrible for air quality due to fires. We couldn't let our kids out due to the bad air quality. Sissy has asthma and Princess has been hospitalized due to breathing problems. We had more overcast days this summer due to smoke/haze than I ever remember. We tried to do Wednesday play groups at the pool and only did 3 of them this summer. The rest got cancelled due to the air. Kids here started school 8/13. Not much of a fun summer trying to find places to evade the smokey haze.

We spent time in Santa Cruz and DH was working in South Lake Tahoe, so we were able to escape now and then, but Tahoe got smoked in more than a few times and Santa Cruz was hazy from the fires in Monterey County.

While there is no rain in the forecast, hopefully the winds die down enough to get these fires under control.

God Bless all who are at the mercy of these fires. It is tragic.

Marilyn - We stayed at the Marriott's Village d'lle de France in October, and love it. We stayed in a beautiful two-bedroom villa with living room, dining room, full kitchen (range, microwave, dishwasher), laundry room, DVD player, and CD player. It was our second one-week stay at Marriott's Village, and our third vacation at DLP. We have also stayed at the Newport Bay Club, and another time Mrs. Woody stayed at the Disneyland Hotel with friends.

As for how many days to spend at the parks depends on your interests. It also depends on how often you visit DLR or WDW.

Some people "do" both parks in two days, often skipping rides that are at the U.S. parks. I think two days would be rushed and exhausting. We prefer to take in the parks at a more leisurely pace. Plus, while many rides share the same name, they are different from their U.S. counterparts, such as Big Thunder Mountain, the Haunted Mansion ("Phantom Manor"), and Indiana Jones. There were very long lines at the newest rides, such as Crush's Coaster.

We have had Annual Passports at both DLR and DLP. We visit the parks early (to beat the crowds), then have a nice sit down lunch. We often take in some of the less popular shows in the afternoon or use our FastPasses (avoiding long lines for rides). In October, I went four days to DLP, and Mrs. Woody went five days. Again, since we had Annual Passports, we could do so at a leisurely pace.

Have you bought your admission tickets? If not, I recommend getting a "Passeport Annuel" (Annual Passport), which are not advertised on DLP's English language site. We bought DLP annual passports for less than the cost of two-park two-day admission. Also, if you get a "sponsor," you can save 10%. (As an annual passport holder, I would be happy to sponsor you or anyone else. Send me a PM.)

Again, thanks for all of the welcomes, we will actually have our dd (14 at cruise time) and DS (12 at that time) with us as well. I am also anxious to meet everyone here it sounds like it will be a great time, and with all of the people who have done a TA cruise before there seems to be a ton of knowledge here for me to pick your brains!:rolleyes1

OMGosh, I guess those of us who don't experience these fires really have no idea of the impact on the folks in the area. I'm so sorry to hear of the bad year you've had; I pray things improve for all of you (the poor kids! and anyone w/lung issues :sad1: ).

Good morning everyone,

cold foggy morning here today.
I am going to defrost the frig, then on to making door sign for my cruise. I should of had them done a week ago.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend,:goodvibes

We'll have to set up TGA (Tooth Grinders Anonymous) meetings onboard!

I have to say I have a similar problem to you. I grind my teeth a lot and found out last year that my teeth are beginning to crumble from the inside out so had to have 8 fillings last year! No crowns as yet but one root canal and the threat of more to come I understand your pain. My mother has had 2 crowns and the one they have had to have re-done 3 times as it wasn't fitted properly (idiot dentist) but she had to go on a cruise with a temporary one and hated it!

We visited Paris for our 1st wedding anniversary and I had the most horrible temporary crowns to contend with. :scared: Everything I ate felt like it was coated in aluminium foil!

we should have a teeth grinder's meet, lol. I also grind and actually chipped a tooth, and now it has become infected, just finished 7 days of antibiotics to and pain meds. They also had my mouth guard re-fitted since one side was too long and made it very uncomfortable to wear, now that it is better I hope to reduce the amount of dental work required in the future. Going to the dentist causes me more stress then the anything else.

Persevere with that guard. It's too late for me now so I'm afraid next year I'll be getting several crowns on my lower jaw. :sad2: On the plus side, I'll have all new pearly whites for the cruise! :rotfl:

I am also a teeth grinder and had tons of problems, but I got a mouth piece and all has been well for years. I used to have a hard time sleeping with it and now if I forget it, I have a hard time falling asleep. Funny how that works.

:thumbsup2

Hello!

Just passing through to say hello - and spread a little news which might save someone something ($)... IF you're living in, near or visiting Southern California this December:

... That should save your family about $100+ depending upon how many go (and how often). Knotts and MM have again run thier Toys' for Tots program offerring free admittance for a dontated toy. We're entertaining proposals for when you might want to go. The more the merrier, eh? The simple details and dates are as follows.

Magic Mt. has free admission for an unwrapped new toy VALUED at $15 on Dec 7th, 13th & 14th.
Knotts is December 6-7, 13-14, and 20-21 with a $10 unwrapped toy.

At KBF you save $42-52 per adult and $22 per child or senior. Here is the link to KBF web page - it is MIS-catagorized at the BOTTOM of this page in the section for FALL and not WINTER. http://www.knotts.com/park/calendar/index.asp

Tatsu5.jpg

At Magic Mountain you'll save $59 per adult and $29 per child over age 2 and under 48". Here is the link for Magic Mountians' page on this event. http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/events/Toysfortheholidays08.aspx NOTE athat at Magic Mountain they have a potential security issue since they've got an obvious sheriff's office at the gate with an imposing row of airport style metal detectors (2 dozen?). It seems they've had gang members bringing weapons into the park to fight before. I've heard 3 gangs claim magic Mountin as inside "thier" terriroty... so occassionally there are "disagreements". However, for the time being Magic Mountian has the biggest and baddest roller coasters in Southern Cal.

Cheers, Tom

This is a club that I'd like to pass on, but am a charter member of, as well :headache: . I find myself clenching my teeth all the time; not so good :sad2: .

I'm trying to catch up here I have missed a few days due to some crazy hours at work, but Sarah Oh my goodness I'm so impressed you took the time to type out the menus for all of us! Thank-you so very much:goodvibes

Hi Woody,
we will have 4 days in the parks and I might nip back for a couple of hours on the day we leave. We are not staying onsite, but at a cheap and cheerful hotel at Bussy St. Georges (two stops on the RER). We found a deal including flights with Air France that we just could not pass up. Tickets are not included, but I intent to get the annual pass (the one with the blackout dates) as this would cost about the same as the 4 days hopper pass, but gives me the opportunity to go back next year. This will be my fourth visit to DLP, but I have never seen the park without Christmas decorations so a trip in late spring or early summer is tempting. Somebody from the DLP board on this forum is sponsoring us for the annual pass. The form should arrive any time now.
