Hey guys, just thought I'd post a couple of pictures of what we are experiencing. I am about 16 miles from the fires and our office is about 5 miles away. Haven't heard anything about from the police or fire station so I am assuming we are good. DH doesn't seem too concerned about it. But here you are:

Just thought I'd post some pictures of our view - things are much better today than yesterday.

Here was my view at 8:45 am. The sky was unbelievably orange:

The the view from my back yard at 12 noon: You can see the difference in the sky - the cloudy part was what we had but more grey yesterday all day.

This was the center of my pool:

The ground as I walked out this morning:

And the hood of my car:

I stayed indoors much of yesterday until I got the jitterbug and so I went to the mall and discovered that Nordstrom's was having a shoe sale and I ended up picking up some short UGG boots on sale for 1/2 price. They were last years model but they have the rubber sole and can be used in rainy weather. 1/2 price (I picked some up as Christmas gifts)

Oh, Laura! I'm so sorry that there are so many concerns, fears, and realities many in CA are facing, including yourself. Please keep us posted!!

Paula - When we were on the Magic last month, there were two cast members from NZ. We met one of them, a nice young lady from Dunedin who worked in the Mickey's Mates shop. We started talking about the Cadbury factory! Hopefully she'll be onboard when we sail.

When we sailed on the EB Repo we were told there were 4 New Zealander's onboard and I think we ended up meeting all of them in the end - not on purpose, we aren't stalkers

The funniest one was one evening when our assistant server from Italy, Francesca, said "where are you from?" and we said "New Zealand" - she didn't believe us to start with then she disappeared, a short while later she returned with another server, Adrian from New Zealand. Apparently, they'd been having an argument earlier and he'd said "no New Zealander's ever travel on Disney" - she was delighted to "win"

Persevere with that guard. It's too late for me now so I'm afraid next year I'll be getting several crowns on my lower jaw. On the plus side, I'll have all new pearly whites for the cruise!

I'll be joining TGA too! I'm going to have to spend the money and get that mouth guard. Goodness knows I don't want anymore tooth issues anytime soon!

I can't believe you typed in ALL of those menus! Thank you so much . Even if we get different menus, this will give us a fantastic idea of what will be served.

No problem. I had a spare night as Dan was out and I wanted to force myself to stay awake for Children in Need so at least I felt like I was being useful lol. Brought back some great memories of the fantastic food (although some days I still can't work out what I ate).

How cold we are heading down Thanksgiving Day

Good morning. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I was busy w/my 2 DGDs, 6 yrs and 5 mos. I love having them here, but then I need Mondays to recuperate .

It's cold here, too. We were in the 20s last night, which is fairly cold for November in VA. Got to go take inventory of my Christmas gifts and see what else I need. My little DGDs ALWAYS get something when I shop; it's so much fun to buy stuff for kids! I can't believe how close we are to Thanksgiving and Christmas already.

Laura, please keep us updated on your area. It's a funny thing; you hear about the fires, but it's kind of abstract until you know someone who's impacted by it.

Actually rode it the first day it was open to AP holders during the preview back in May , and your right it was fantastic though I like the cue better at the one in DisneyLand and there is more to see in the ride then the one in Florida ...

JoAnne....how cold is it going to be this weekend in Virginia? I am headed to Williamsburg, VA on Friday morning. Helping a coworker move from south Mississippi. It will be a very fast trip so I wont be there long...but I HATE the cold!!! Let me know so I know what to pack.

Well, my area is supposed to have low to mid 40s in the day and anywhere from 20s to 30s at night. Sorry! It certainly won't be like south Mississippi, I'm sure.
