These pictures are from December, 2002, while at WDW for DIS-Con. I think these were the last times I saw Tapestry, one of Disney's best, IMO, and so missed since. Thought I would post a few here, with some sound, maybe jog a memory or two. Enjoy.

After dinner, we went out to watch the Tapestry of Dreams parade. With
this one, I tried to get a number of the CM's facial expressions and used my
flash for a number of them.

I really do miss this 'parade'. I hate to call it a parade as it was more of an experience. I get goose bumps just rememberin the huge drums beating and the figures dancing and weaving. It was the best. I really wish that they would bring that back.

Cool Dan! I saw it for the first and last time about a month after you in January 2003. Absolutely loved it! I liked it better than Illuminations (guess I need to figure out where to view that from to really enjoy it...).

I miss Tapestry of Nations! :( The Dreams one with all the chatter didn't move me the way Nations did.

I have an awesome video of Nations. In England there is some sort of a statue that sticks out into the parade route. By sitting on that (not the most comfortable seat  ) it looked like I was standing in the middle of the street. It was a totally unobstructed view.

TON was fantastic and I still get goosebumps everytime I hear, "Behold, the great Millennium Walk!"

Thanks Dan....starting my day with goosebumps!!! Dd is dancing around the room. Wish they would bring it back.

I agree with Virgo. I loved Tapestry of Nations. The changes they made to make it Tapestry of Dreams took away a little. TON is the best!

Thanks for the great pictures. Brings back some wonderful memories!

Wow! Thanks Dan! :) Just got in from my morning walk and that was a real nice thing to hear this morning! We've been to the world a couple times now without the parade and we really miss it. :( In fact, the kids and I were walking aorund world showcase last month singing the hey la hey la song. :) It was always such a wonderful way to spend time in EPCOT. We have pictures of DD when she was 15 months old (and DS was 5) (she's 5 now, he's 9) getting touched by the puppetts - such a thrill.

Thanks again!!

Jill

We miss both Nations and Dreams Dan.

The first time we experienced it was in Dec 99, and that was by accident. We had just come out of American Adventure and walked across the street to get some glazed pecans. We gathered back together in front of AA to figure out what we were going to do next when we heard the man talking at the first of the parade.

Boy am I glad we stayed to see it. It leaves one of my most cherished moments at WDW in memory. Listening back and seeing the pictures brings those memories back in vivid detail.

A tear forms as I write this. Thanks for the memory recall Dan.

We never saw this while it was at Disney, so I always enjoy your pictures of the event.

I do agree, Nations was a step better than Dreams, more 'solemn', forceful. I always sat near Germany or Morocco to catch two parades, the start of one, the end of another. Remember when Nations started, and for many years, there were 3 simultaneously parades? It was neat, watching the late parade, then, while drained with emotion, turning around to get a good spot for the next high, Illuminations.

Yes, Roberta, "Behold, the great Millennium Walk!" ::yes::

Love this parade!! Thanks Dan!

Yes, I miss this! I listen to the CD very often! Thanks, Dan!!

TON was the highlight for DH when we were there in 2000, what a great trip that was. We were in Sago Cay at the GF. Thanks for bringing back the memories Dan!

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

My family adored this parade, especially my 17 year old DD. We would go to the world showcase in around 5:00 and eat at Germany so she could catch the 6:00 and the 8:00 parade. It was very stirring. I never figured out why they discontinued it. It never got old for us. Has there ever been any mention of it returning?

We loved this parade!:lovestruc When we saw it in 2000, it brought tears to my eyes.....goosebumps ran down my spine. One sweet moment in the parade happened with my son, Kirk. He was 10 at the time. One of the sprites blew a kiss at him and gave him a little wave. A looked at him and the expression was priceless....a bit embarassed, a bit flustered....and one heck of a big smile on his face!! :p

We went to see ToD in Dec 2002. Unforutately, the rain came, then the thunder and lightning. Tears came to my eyes, but for a different reason. I guess I will never see this parade again. :(

Tapestry of Nations/Dreams didn't win me over at first for some reason. But once it hooked me, I was a goner! I miss it so much now, and wish my brother-in-law and his family could have "experienced" it too last August, but by then it was already discontinued.

I wish they'd bring it back! ::yes::

Dan, I really needed the sights and sounds of Disney this AM! Thank-you! I never saw ToD, but we LOVED ToN! I would love to hear that music again!

Dan, that one gave me the chills!! I miss this parade. We have a great picture of Glenn in the parade with one of the CM's in his parade costume. Glenn loves this parade, and one night he stepped into it with a CM and asked if I could take a pic. He said to do it really quickly, which we did, and what a picture it turned out to be!
