I’m sure Elio would dig the holiday parfait…

The toffee bundt looks SO good!

Had to try the Frozen Hot Chocolate everyone’s been bragging about. Very good but it was like a premium version of Wendy’s frosty.
Shouldn't Ghirardelli be offering frozen hot chocolate in August, not December??? I know it's been warm in SoCal, but still...

I’m not sure if it’s offered year round but it was a Holiday exclusive at one point. DCA sold it - a few years ago during the Festival of Holidays. IIRC, it was $6. This was $13. Of course the $6 version would’ve been either Nestle or Joffrey’s (the latter has since replaced the former as the default hot chocolate brand).

Trader Sam's Breakfast

We finally made it to Trader Sam's on our last day at DL (non-park day). I *always* go to Trader Sam's at least once; unfortunately, since they changed to no reservations, we didn't have any luck getting in on our park days in the evening. I love having a drink at the bar there at night, which I missed, but at least we made it for breakfast.

Loco Moto Burrito, $17 - Chopped Wagyu Beef Patty, Steamed Jasmine Rice, Fried Egg, Gravy, Furikake
Trader Sam's Breakfast Burrito.jpg
One of my daughters ordered this burrito. She said it was very good and quite filling. I thought it looked like it had a lot of rice in it, but she said there was plenty of meat, etc., as well.

Croissant Breakfast Sandwich, $17 - Kalua-Style Pork, Bacon, Fried Egg, Havarti Cheese
Trader Sam's Croissant Breakast Sandwich.jpg
My husband ordered this sandwich. When asked if he liked it, he replied, "Two different kinds of pork, what's not to like?"

Krakatoa Punch, $18 - Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Flor de Caña 7 Year Rum, Sam’s Gorilla Grog, Orgeat, Hibiscus
Trader Sam's Krakatoa Punch.jpg
The punch was ordered by one of my (adult) daughters. She wanted to see the volcano effect, so she asked the server what she could order that would get that, and this was what was recommended. She enjoyed it took the ice cube and stir stick home with her.

Nile River Sunset, $18.50 - Golden Eagle Vodka, Apricot Liqueur, Amaro Montenegro, Honey, Fresh Lemon
Trader Sam's Nile River Sunset.jpg
My other adult daughter ordered this. She didn't really like it because she thought it was bitter, probably due to the Amaro. Thought about trying it because it sounds like something I'd like, but I don't drink before 6 PM so oh well.

Side of bacon - $5
Trader Sam's side of bacon.jpg
Not a bad portion for $5 at Disneyland. Everyone liked the bacon :)

Tropical Pancakes, $18 - Macadamia Nut Buttermilk Pancakes, Passion Fruit Curd, Toasted Coconut
Trader Sam's Tropical Pancakes.jpg
One of my daughters and I both got this. I loved these! My daughter's had significantly more passion fruit curd than my order did (this one was mine). I asked for some additional and it was no problem. I thought the ears were a cute touch.

Total bill for this breakfast, including tax and 20% tip, was $178.
Four entrees
Two alcoholic beverages
Two sides of bacon
One iced tea ($5)
One Perrier ($5)
One coffee ($4)
One orange juice ($5)

Centrico - DTD

Berry Christmas, $18

Didn't get the description of what was in this holiday drink, but it did include alcohol. My daughter said it was really too sweet for her. I think she mainly just wanted to drink out of the snowman cup, so mission accomplished. Cup not included in the price of the drink.

Burrito Norteno, $25 - Guajillo & Ancho Chile Braised Beef, Cheese blend, Pinto Beans, Rice, Sour Cream, Queso Fresco, Avocado, Flour Tortilla
Centrico burrito.jpg
My daughter ordered this and said it was really good, although it was big and she wasn't able to finish it. Not sure why there's an allergy pick in the burrito, but I'm guessing because she ordered it without sour cream.

Guacamole with Pork Belly, $20 - Creamy Avocado, Pork Belly, Tomato, Cilantro, Onion, Lime, Serrano, served with Tortilla Chips and Salsa
Spicy Mamacita, $17 - Blanco Tequila, Organic Agave, Non-GMO Orange and Lime Juice, Jalapeno Spice, Salt Rim, Pepper Garnish
La Mezcalita Margarita, $19 - Ilegal Mezcal, Lime Juice, Hibisicus Syrup, Finca Orange Liqueur

Centrico guacamole and drinks.jpg

The Mezcalita was a little sweet for my taste, but it was very pretty! My daughter liked her spicy margarita. The guacamole with pork belly was REALLY good. Pork belly was crispy and not too fatty or greasy. I would go back to this restaurant for this dish alone (and actually we did, we had it last time we were here and it was the main reason we went back this time).

Patron Silver Margarita - $25
Centrico Silver Margarita.jpg
Good margarita, though I'm not sure it was worth $25. I just asked if they could bring me a "margarita on the rocks made with a good tequila and lime juice rather than mixer," and this is what I got.

Shrimp Chorizo Crispy Tacos, $24 - Shrimp Chorizo, Spicy Salsa Cruda, Avocado, Pickled Red Onion, Cabbage Slaw, Crispy Corn Tortilla
Centrico.jpg
These were good. They weren't spicy at all IMO and they weren't too fishy.

Total bill for two people including tax and 20% tip: $188.47
One shared appetizer
Three margaritas
One holiday drink
Two entrees
Water (no charge)

That snowman cup is adorable!

Cookie butter trifle at boardwalk pizza and pasta $7.79. Super yummy. We shared it and thought it was great. I’m not sure I could eat all of this alone. It was sweet!

Braised short rib at cafe Orleans. $32. Delicious! We loved this meal. We both got it. Had wonderful service as well. Hadn’t eaten at cafe Orleans in years. It was our only table service meal in the parks this trip.

Gingerbread sundae at Golden Horseshoe. $9.99. We enjoyed it although we preferred the cookie butter trifle. The gingerbread cake gave us fruit cake vibes. Lol. I’m glad we tried it. We love sitting upstairs at the Golden Horseshoe.

These all look great! The Golden Horseshoe is a perfect spot for a snack :)
