Cool, we get there on the 6th and are staying at SSR. I need to find my list to find out what days we are going where.

I also want Chris to win. He's the whole package--can sing, wants to win, is easy on the eyes...

I like Paris, but when I found out that she didn't even really want to sing and only entered the contest for the heck of it, I didn't want her to win for sure (wanted Chris to win before that, but she was up there on my list before that).

Taylor drives me batty, but he is being Taylor and I have to respect him for being himself. He reminds me a bit of my 15yo. Not the personality, etc, but the "march to the beat of his own drummer" kind of attitude. Which is probably why he drives me so crazy.

Katherine can sing, but her clothes usually make me gag (last night was ok). She sure is beautiful--those cheekbones. Wow!

Kelly will do fine with a country music CD. I hate country music, though. She cracks me up, but yes, I'm not sure if she's stupid or just plays one on TV. If it's an act, she should act half that stupid and she would be ok and more accepted.

I like Elliott and he can sing. I think he'll be going home because of his looks, which is sad. I don't think that he should win, but he should go further than a few that are left (Ace, especially).

Ace is only a pretty face. I do NOT like his singing. Pretty face he is, but it's not a pretty face contest.

My DH woke up during the night puking, though. I knew that teva would want to know that. We don't go a week in this house without someone puking. We ate the same thing so it's not food and he hasn't upchucked since. But he still ate breakfast. God forbid the guy should miss a meal.

Good afternoon!

I'm almost afraid to log on, lest I catch some cyber-herpes!

Question for all, and especially anyone who knows about teen boys. We have a 17 year old neighbor who's very, very sick and in the hospital. He has some sort of gastro-intestinal illness, and for all the tests and treatments they've done, they just can't get a diagnosis. He's gone from 150 lbs. to 127, and he's now on a feeding tube because he started going into organ failure from the dehydration and lack of nutrition. I talked to his dad this morning, and his body seems to be responding to the feeding tube, as his organ function tests and bloodwork were looking better as of last night. He's stable and awake, but just feeling like he's been run over by a Mack truck. Here's the question: I want to go visit him, but I'm wondering what to take him. What do you give a 17 year old boy who's too sick to eat any kind of goodies from a gift basket, and whom I'm pretty sure wouldn't get anything out of a plant or flowers. He's into sports--he palys football, lacrosse and wrestling, so I was thinking of going to a bookstore and just buying out a bunch of sports mags so that when he feels better, he has something to read--his dad said they expect him to be hospitalized for a while. He's the nicest kid--honor roll student and so friendly and polite. I'd just like to give him something he'd enjoy once he's feeling better. Of course when I asked dh what he thought, without skipping a beat, he said "porn." OK, granted the kid would probably love it, but I don't really feel the need to be thrown in jail right now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ds and I watched the coolest show on VH1 last night--Top 100 One Hit Wonders. It was great! Many happy 1980's memories came flashing back: Dexy's Midnight Runners' "Come On Eileen", Soft Cell's "Tainted Love", Toni Basil's "Mickey" and Kajagoogoo's (remember them?!) "Too Shy Shy." What a fun show that was!

luv, I think that the sports magazines would be a good idea and they wouldn't land you in jail! Poor kid!

My DD knew a boy who was so sick when he was about that age and was in and out of the hospital. Turns out he had Crohns Disease. I have no idea how he is now since they've lost touch, but he lost lots of weight, had to stop playing his sports, etc.
