Please extend a "Welcome Back" to your Dad from another Vietnam Vet.Happy Flag Day and Happy 250th birthday to the ARMY. DH always wears his Vietnam Veteran hat and has been a conversation starter many times as it was here in Epcot a couple years ago with a fellow Vietnam Vet. Last night during dinner a young Navy Veteran came to our table to thank him for his service. They traded "Army/Navy stories" and had a nice visit before he and his wife left. A few minutes later the waitress came to our table...he and his wife had paid for our dinner!
What years did you serve? He was there from December, 1969 to February, 1971 in the Da Nang delta area. Didn't get to visit any of the firebases on his recent trip back; involved a 3-4 day "roughing it" tour but he's added that to his "Bucket List"! Wants to go back and do the backpacking trip. 
He'll have to get oldest DGD to make THAT trip with him...his daughters both say "he** NO" on that idea! 
I was just after him, overlapping the end of his tour. I was in Chu Lai for most of my tour, that was about 50K south of Da Nang on the coast.
That's where he was stationed after he re-upped the last 2 months there! We're you with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade?
We've been without internet, TV and land phone all evening and I'm guessing this is why....weather to our south over Houston area! Thank goodness we just had a lot of thunder, lightning and rain...looks like it got a lot worse after it passed over us! HAPPY Fathers Day Disney Dads!
