Another Gift Card Consolidation Question

let’s say I have a gift card that I have consolidated other gift cards into. And I consolidated $1000 (the max) to this main card. I then use the $1000 to (let’s say) pay a deposit on a cruise. Could I then transfer another $1000 to the same main card for a later deposit?

Goal here is to only use a single main card to pay for the whole cruise.

In the past I booked a cruise on a dozen $1000 cards that got cancelled by Covid and tracking 12 cards was a little unnerving. Trying to have one main card to ease the tracking.

it only becomes a problem if you cancel the cruise because they cannot refund more than $1000 to any gift card. You would still end up with 12 (or more) gift cards with balances.

Can you? Yes. Is it a good idea? No. If you need a refund refund they will need to issue you 12 new gift cards. That is a Process and it is not quick. You should never spend more than $1k that could be refunded on a single gift card because Disney cannot refund more than $1k to a single gift card.

Why would tracking this be unnerving? You should have a spreadsheet set up for all your gift cards anyway. But I suspect you don’t so here’s the spiel - It should track every gift card you purchase, when, where and what card you transferred it to. This way if something goes wrong and Disney freezes your gift cards you can produce all receipts for loads onto that gift card proving it’s yours and that everything on it was legitimately paid for. Gift cards have no consumer protections so tracking it all is very important.
