"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

Really great information for MVMCP at http://blog.touringplans.com/2015/04/10/disney-world-mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party-2015/
This blog post spells out the ride wait times for last years party. More importantly it tells when and which days sold out.

This is fascinating and very helpful information. First its showing the HUGE price increase for 2016 >:( Second it's showing that, other than the final party, these events don't sell out until the last minute (1 or 2 days before the actual party). If history is an indicator I should be fine holding out until October for purchasing my tickets for the November 11th event. Also it looks like crowd conditions don't seem to be an issue until after Thanksgiving.

Interestingly the Dec 4th, 2015 party (which my wife and I attended) was the 2nd most crowded based on ride wait times. I have to tell you it didn't feel that way to us. It was busy but nothing like during the day.

After much debate in our family (7 adults), we have decided to get tickets for Thurs Dec 8th, and that this will be our first (for half our group) and last MVMCP. It is getting harder to justify the cost. My husband and I have gone to 3 other MVMCPs and have always had a great time (minus the 2-hour wait for the Seven Dwarves at last year's party!) and we will make sure we have a great time this year too!

We're going on the 11th with my brother and his family. If it wasn't for this fact and that I've been saving for it since January we wouldn't be doing it. I also fear this will also be our last party. Losing us, I doubt will impact Disney at all................but a 20% increase for the basically the same party as last year just doesn't seem right to me. I won't stop going to Disney..........we're going to AP Holders for this November's trip :).............but all the up charges........you're gonna have to give me something big for me to do one of those again........................for my wife and I..........I haven't seen anything lately that would be worth it to us.

Did you see this one for 2016? http://blog.touringplans.com/2016/04/07/least-crowded-disney-world-christmas-party-2016/

My husband and I are finally going to MVMCP for the very first time this November. I'm really looking forward to it! Since we'll be there for the Nov. 10th party, we'll also get to do the final weekend of the Food and Wine Festival which is also a first for us. :goodvibes We've always gone in the summer, so this will be a nice change. :thumbsup2

Whaaaa??? I don't have to wait until June??? OMG this is amazing news! DH is chomping at the bit to get that last piece done! It makes it feel so "final" when we have the flight booked! And I will not fly with anyone else!

Me too! SO glad I saw this. Almost missed it. Apparently I need to pay more attention on the Transportation board. SW says "subject to change, check back frequently."

Got our tickets for Nov 7th today. We'll be sleeping in after Wine & Dine and the Epcot party so this day worked best. It's our first party, excited to go and for the new stage show. So many new things to us we're doing and in the parks, it'll be great.

Has the new pricing turned anyone off? Or just grumbles and still going anyway?
Turned off............but going anyway because its a gift for my brother and his family :)

Grumble...Grumble.....Grumble.............probably my last MVMCP. Next year we're going with my wife's family in Oct..........so MNSSHP may get one last ride too...........at over $100/ticket based on the way its going now.

Grumble...Grumble.....Grumble.............

Grumbled but still going. The prices that were posted here (the day before they went on sale) were higher than what they actually turned out to be. So I was a little relieved. We were going either way though, it's one of the main reasons we are going in December.

I'm grumbling but only because I wanted to do 2 parties again. Definitely happy to be going once.

All of the above. But people like me, planning our first and most likely last WDW trip for the next decade, feel a Now or Never pressure, and so I bought tickets, which were more than I had budgeted. (I budgeted $400 for five tickets, ended up needing $480 after taxes--and before you consider the Canadian currency exchange.) When you have told your kids that you're going to the party, you yourself are curious and would never go during the end of December when the same shows will be ~free, and you don't think you'll ever be back, you pay. But that just makes me a customer, not a satisfied one.
I'm sure I'll get more int the spirit in December, when this purchases is more than six months in the rearview mirror. :P

I'm still going anyway cause the whole reason I planned my trip for November into December was to experience the MVMCP. I knew Disney was going to raise prices, just didn't know by how much. But since its so expensive, instead of going to the party on three nights, I may go for two instead. One party dedicated to the shows, fireworks, castle lighting & parade and the other to characters & rides.

Going to the Nov 10th party.... only going because everyone says its a thing you should try at least once... and can do 4-12 in the park.. why not... my fam is going too... mother loves christmas and wanted to see MK decorated... I LOVED the MNSSHP tho and want them to try that one another time

So to be clear, if I use my admission ticket to go to a different park in the morning and I don't have park hoppers, can I still go the the Magic Kingdom at night for MVMCP if I have an event ticket? If so, can I do early entry at 4pm like normal?

Yes! You don't need any regular theme park ticket to go to the Christmas party - other than the event ticket.

The last time I went to MVMCP was in 2012, and I paid $69.18 for Friday, Dec. 7. I had planned to go this year on Dec. 1, but I'm not interested in paying $96.92. I have been to the Christmas party at least 6 times, so I will enjoy the Magic Kingdom on a non-party night for less.
