We're going on the 11th with my brother and his family. If it wasn't for this fact and that I've been saving for it since January we wouldn't be doing it. I also fear this will also be our last party. Losing us, I doubt will impact Disney at all................but a 20% increase for the basically the same party as last year just doesn't seem right to me. I won't stop going to Disney..........we're going to AP Holders for this November's tripAfter much debate in our family (7 adults), we have decided to get tickets for Thurs Dec 8th, and that this will be our first (for half our group) and last MVMCP. It is getting harder to justify the cost. My husband and I have gone to 3 other MVMCPs and have always had a great time (minus the 2-hour wait for the Seven Dwarves at last year's party!) and we will make sure we have a great time this year too!
Really great information for MVMCP at http://blog.touringplans.com/2015/04/10/disney-world-mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party-2015/
This blog post spells out the ride wait times for last years party. More importantly it tells when and which days sold out.
This is fascinating and very helpful information. First its showing the HUGE price increase for 2016Second it's showing that, other than the final party, these events don't sell out until the last minute (1 or 2 days before the actual party). If history is an indicator I should be fine holding out until October for purchasing my tickets for the November 11th event. Also it looks like crowd conditions don't seem to be an issue until after Thanksgiving.
Interestingly the Dec 4th, 2015 party (which my wife and I attended) was the 2nd most crowded based on ride wait times. I have to tell you it didn't feel that way to us. It was busy but nothing like during the day.

Whaaaa??? I don't have to wait until June??? OMG this is amazing news! DH is chomping at the bit to get that last piece done! It makes it feel so "final" when we have the flight booked! And I will not fly with anyone else!
Turned off............but going anyway because its a gift for my brother and his familyHas the new pricing turned anyone off? Or just grumbles and still going anyway?

Grumbled but still going. The prices that were posted here (the day before they went on sale) were higher than what they actually turned out to be. So I was a little relieved. We were going either way though, it's one of the main reasons we are going in December.Has the new pricing turned anyone off? Or just grumbles and still going anyway?

Yes! You don't need any regular theme park ticket to go to the Christmas party - other than the event ticket. So to be clear, if I use my admission ticket to go to a different park in the morning and I don't have park hoppers, can I still go the the Magic Kingdom at night for MVMCP if I have an event ticket? If so, can I do early entry at 4pm like normal?
The last time I went to MVMCP was in 2012, and I paid $69.18 for Friday, Dec. 7. I had planned to go this year on Dec. 1, but I'm not interested in paying $96.92. I have been to the Christmas party at least 6 times, so I will enjoy the Magic Kingdom on a non-party night for less.Has the new pricing turned anyone off? Or just grumbles and still going anyway?
