"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I am battling myself on tickets, the prices are crazy! Is it really worth it? I have a 6 and 4 yo My big fear is that they will be too tired to enjoy it after a day at the park even with naps & rest periods included

We took our 4yr old son for spring break, and he was more than happy to stay up for fireworks at MK and Epcot as well as the pirate fireworks cruise (each were a massive hit with him), and then pop up at his normal wake-up time of 6am each morning. But we also planned mid-afternoon breaks back at the resort each day (1pm-5pm), which helped him not get worn out. We also did not rush to see things. We strolled, and if we missed a ride or two at the end of the trip because he wanted to spend more time playing in an area or meeting CMs, we didn't stress about it at all. It was a great family time for us all.

This Christmas, he will be five, and we plan our last WDW day at a MVMCP on a Friday, but not doing any other parks that day. We'll slide over to Disney Springs and perhaps see the Wilderness Lodge decorations, but other than that we will have a really light day so we can manage his energy level and all enjoy MVMCP.

As far as if it's worth it or not, we'll be spending about $20 per person more for a MVMCP ticket than a regular MK day ticket. The MVMCP ticket gets us 6 hrs (4pm-10pm) on a 5yr old's schedule (probably won't go to midnight), while the MK ticket would get us about 7hrs (9am-7pm with a midday break). Is the extra $20 per person for three people worth a potentially once in a lifetime Christmas experience at Disney? For us, sure.

Hmmm...Decisions...Decisions...Can't decide whether to go on our 1st day at WDW after leaving USO...Or the next day...which is a Friday and will most likely be much more crowded. Good "problems" to have! :bored:

This is our first trip to Disney World our first day there will be November 29th through December 8th. Do you all think November 29th or December 1st would be a better date to do the party hoping for lowest crowds. I am not sure if we should start trip with the Christmas party being new to Disney World but our TA thinks it might be the best date we were thinking about December 6th as I heard Tuesdays are less crowded but TA thinks earlier would be better to avoid some of POP warner people that may crowd the party that day. December 1st is a Thursday so not sure how crowded they are but would probably be before the POP Warner people arrived so might be good also??

If it was just for the party I wouldn't mind paying it, but we have already paid for our resort tickets etc, that is why I am trying to decide if it will be worth it, it will be an extra $400 on top of what we have already paid :worried: We live in WV and drive so its not like we could just drive back one day for the party lol If its just going to be like a chirstmas themed day in the MK I will pass but if the special things in the Christmas party are too good to pass up then we will do it :D

@bshrewz90 We also live in WV and drive. I will say that the party I experienced years ago was pretty special. The is a party only parade, fireworks, special shows, character meet & greets that you can't get other times and probably a bunch more things (oh yeah snow on Main Street) make it more than just a Christmas time day/night in the park.

I bought tickets this morning for Nov. 11th. I was a little surprised at the high cost this year, but in the scheme of things, what is $50 more than you anticipated in the total of a trip that costs thousands of dollars.

It's so worth it, even if I have to save an additional 100 bucks for the increased price. Best value spent - to see the faces of my kids having fun.

This was a no brainer for me- 2 nights of party tickets, gonna have a blast.

We do 2 nights as well. We dedicate the 1st part of the party to specific goals and then the rest is all about, parades, fireworks, snow(p) and walking on to the rides. Our goals are, for 1 party we get the event specific merch, and the other is to get 7 Dwarfs, and then other hard to get/rare m&g's.

I'm trying to convince the hubby to buy tickets for this party. Are all the rides open until 12 midnight? It's not fun standing in line for the rides with 3 little kids...so if all rides are open and without lines...that might just make him say yes! If anyone can share info, that'll be great. :)

HERE is the link at allears.net 's MVMCP page. It has the dates and prices for this yr, and all the details from last yr's MVMCP.

Thanks for this link! I think having read this, I'm not going to feel so bad about missing the party (if we choose not to go). Great info.

Omg, thank u! It originally was 6/2, they must have pushed it up. I was (am) so annoyed that I havent been able to book

Whaaaa??? I don't have to wait until June??? OMG this is amazing news! DH is chomping at the bit to get that last piece done! It makes it feel so "final" when we have the flight booked! And I will not fly with anyone else!

Yay!!! We got our tickets for Friday, December 2nd, 2016. This is our first time so we are so excited...can't wait for the snow on Main Street and all the Christmas decorations!!!

I was disappointed to see how high the December prices are, but I spent the $480 ($30 in taxes) for three ~adults and two kids (plus our toddler freebie). It's a good thing the snacks are free, because I won't have any money left for food. :p
We're going to the Tues, Dec 13 party. We're there during FD, so my plan was an early QS dinner at Pecos Bill after a resort day to let everyone rest up because this will be a night where I want everyone to stay up until midnight. I don't even want that on New Year's Eve, but I will for this!

Got our tickets for November 8th! I leave the next day so this will be a great way to end my trip and start my holiday season!:santa:
