I wouldn't worry too much about your pace while you're training. You want your training pace to be slower so you don't put yourself at too much of a risk for injury. My training pace is always slower than what I can do in a race situation. At least for 5k's, when I try to run that distance all out while training I can always go faster in a race. There's just something about the race excitement and the energy from the other runners that helps you do things you never thought you could![]()
Thanks for the encouragement! Could I use this same mentality to say that it's ok if my longest training run before the half is only 9 miles? I'm not sure if I can bring myself to run any more than that this month...but I'm afraid those last 4 miles might kill me for the half cause I won't be prepared enough.
I've heard the gps on my phone could have interference from the case I use so maybe that's it? The app's inaccuracy is why I don't carry my phone with me too often but I would love if it worked right.
) for the half. I'm feeling like we're really ready for this

, during the race. I don't know what the temps during the race were, but Indy set a record high of 100 yesterday afternoon, so I'm sure the temps were pretty darn hot during the run....and humid! physically i felt fine, no cramping or stiffness, but the heat was unbearable and I finished 34.56. sucky...BUT 91st out of 397. so I don't think i was the only affected by the heat. I just hope it won't be like that for the wine and dine!!!
i really think our plan of 0 to 1/2 marathon in 5 months was a bit unrealistic.
I would love to do C2C some day!
Are you planning at least 1 long run before the race?
