Why is Guardians more popular at night?

I have noticed that wait time increase substantially in late afternoon and evening for Guardians of the Galaxy. I know that during the Halloween season they have a separate overlay in the evening but as far as I know they don't any other time of the year. What am I missing about it?

Full disclosure, both times I have been to the park the attraction has been down for refurbishment so I have never been able to experience it.

Most likely residual delays from daytime down time.

But it is cool for the open door parts at night so that may be part of it.

After 11 AM park hoppers can enter the park

So more guests are in DCA

Plus many people dont rope drop so the peak times for rides to have huge lines are like 1 PM-8ish

I think you will find a lot of attractions have longer lines in the late afternoon & evenings than that do before noon. But I think this is especially true for scarier or more thrill type attractions. It is always more fun to be scared at night than during the bright light of day.

Younger people tend to not enter the parks early.

By night time the ride has probably has some sort of issue and ran at partial capacity for part of the day making the line move slower especially when all those LL get pushed back. Also, Incredicoaster probably would have went down at some point in the day giving many people a go on any ride pass which many will use at Guardians rather than Incredicoaster.

These are my best guesses.

I was thinking this too. I prefer doing the more physical rides later in the day. Probably common enough to make an impact.

GotG is one of the most reliable E-ticket attractions in all of DLR. Recently, they have been refurbishing the elevator shafts but I believe that has been completed. IMHO it more fun after dark and the younger crowd tends to migrate to that attraction in the evening. It took a few years after the transformation from ToT for it to become as popular as it is but it seems to be a hit nowadays.
