November 12, 2011 - Magical Double Dip!

Sarah have a beautiful day today!

Linda you are up before my ds! You are always on the go

A week from today we will be onthe Magic!:goodvibes

Well I guess if I am to feel icky with cold.... better this weekend then next!! Pulled all the Disney Luggage out and finally starting to pack for 5:banana:

Packing is super fun compared to cleaning!! ;)

Anyone else still packing??? My sis was done weeks ago!

Good morning everyone! Anyone notice the DCL site has been acting up since yesterday? I have not been able to view or print my cruise agreement...

Yes I've spent the last 2 days trying to finish our check-in. I hope it is corrected before we leave.

We are still packing. I have everyone's summer clothes in a pile in their rooms, today I will be going through and packing!

Today is packing day at our house. I set aside all the kid's clothes from summer that still fit when I was switching out to our winter clothes. DH would prefer to pack the morning we leave and I'd prefer to pack three weeks in advance, so this is our compromise. :goodvibes Plus it's not like an Orlando trip where we have a rental car and anything we forget is easily purchased!

Since we live in MN, I'm starting to watch the long term weather forecasts. It's a little early in the year for a massive snowstorm, but obviously anything goes this year. We're flying in the night before, but you never know.

I don't blame you for keeping an eye on the weather!!! Better to know than to be surprised!:thumbsup2

Hoping to pack today too just a little worried about wrinkles. I've had the staging done for weeks I.e. Putting outfits together per day and each day got a hanger all outfits for fam go on that one hanger. I likewise schooled dh that there will be NO packing Thurs. Night so he'd better start now.:teacher:

If you roll your clothes you can avoid alot of wrinkles!:thumbsup2 Plus travel size wrinkle releaser is awesome ~!!:goodvibes

:laundy:Thanks I will have to look for the wrinkle reducer I had never heard of it. I did buy tissue paper for my dress b/c it is supposed to help plus I may just pay to press it

It's made by Downy if that helps :) Our Wal-mart has it in the travel size section where the soap/shampoo/and other bathroom travel size stuff is:goodvibes But it's also in the laundry section:thumbsup2

Don't forget COLOR CATCHERs!

For those of you that don't know what they are, they are a magical sheet made by Shout that when added to the wash load will pick up any dye that may be in the water...great for when you don't want to separate loads! LOVE THEM!

Spent the better half of the day packing still not close to done....

Linda are there 27 rooms including scassabria? I know some dropped out

DisneyDreamer? Where are you? I don't know the answer to this question - I know we lost two and gained one, but no idea how many we actually have . . . I made 30.

Today, we drove from Newark DE to Virginia Beach. Only around 250 miles, but some of the most boring miles known to man. Our hotel is right on the beach. The wind is blowing a gale. We went to the Military Aircraft museum at the VB airport, and I went scrapbook shopping. We had a memorable dinner at Tautags in VB. I sure hope it's warmer than this in Florida! I wore my whole jacket system, zipped up, when we walked to dinner. Brrrrr.

Gift Exchange Info

Meet & Greet in the Promenade Lounge Deck 3 at 3:00pm on Embarkation Day!!!!
We will meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm before the muster drill and sail-away to get to know one another briefly, put names to faces, and for those of you who would like to participate, we will also have gift exchange! If you are participating in the gift exchange please be in the Promenade Lounge no later than 3:15. We will begin drawing names at that time!!!

Here's how it works:
Each family will bring a small gift to represent the area they are from, aka their hometown/state For example you could bring something from a local store like maybe a trinket from an artist in your hometown or if you are into sports bring something to represent your favorite home team. Last cruise on DCL, the gift I received was from a very sweet lady from Texas, she brought some local spices & coffee, along with a little Texas BBQ cookbook. It was really cool! It's just a simple gift nothing extravagant, that is unless you wanna give me a free cruise

No seriously just something light and fun!!

At the meet & greet, I will have name-tags to hand out where we will put our DIS name along with our real name, so that we can identify one another easily Then for each person or family who has brought a gift, when you come in find me, I will be handing out some lei's & up at the bar looking like I am in charge : Also I'll be wearing a name-tag At that point I'll write down your name & put it into a bowl/hat for the drawing part. I will also jot your name down on a list of who is actually participating in the exchange. That way everyone who brings a gift will receive one in return You hang onto your gift and have a seat, get to know some other people, have a drink, just relax : )

Around 3:30pm, which should give everyone enough time to mosey on down, we will begin the exchange I will call a name from the list and that person will come up pull a name from the drawing pool and exchange gifts with the person whose name they have drawn.

Very simple lots of fun and it ensures that each person who brings shall receive And no one is pressured into bringing something, it's completely up to each family, but please do come and hang out with us either way!!!

Can't wait! It's gonna be sooooo much fun!!

Good Evening Happy Cruisers!

I figgered we'd get MORe posts the closer we got to cruise day. Instead, we seem to be getting fewer. Is everyone SO busy PACKING you can't post?

I thought it was 24, we only packed 25, so I hope its no more than that, :)

If you're short one - skip us, ok?

We didn't get very far today! This morning, we had a very slow start. Then we went to the Norfolk Botanical Garden. LOVELY. It looks like fall here - colorful trees, but things are still blooming - ROSES! Roses in November!

Then we went to the home of one of our military friends from Germany - he was just a 'kid' then a 3 striper, playing football in his spare time. Now, he's retired as a Chief, married, kids in college - how did I miss all that? Anway, we only made it to Rocky Hill, North Carolina by supper time. Tomorrow is also a day.

Hope yours was a good one.

I am just about done packing except for the last minute items that need to be thrown in. For the five of us I packed 2 large suitcases and a carry on size. It took me the whole weekend to pack it :rotfl: About 2pm today I started to get sick and now I am really sick! I sure hope this passes quick and that my kids do not get it next! We are leavinvg here 3am Thursday morning. It would be awful to travel with sick kids :sad2: I want us to enjoy our first day in Florida on Thursday :cloud9:
