Micechat disneyland update
Maters junkyard jamboree is slated to come to Tokyo, Shanghai, and ORLANDO
While the parks in both Shanghai and Tokyo are slated to get their own version of the ride, another clone of Maters will also show up in Orlando. A copy of the ride, re-themed to Woody from Toy Story, will be one of three small rides being added to a new Toy Story Playland area, to be built where much of the shuttered Backlot Tram Tour currently is at Disneys Hollywood Studios. The plans to directly clone Cars Land for WDW may have died at the hands of Orlandos accountants, but at least one of the three Cars Land rides will make the trip to Florida, albeit with a different character and theme.
I think it's important to post the whole paragraph because it shows what TDO thinks of DHS:
I completely agree DHS does need those kiddie rides and things for the entire family but it also needs other things as well like d and e tickets.I want to say that I would have no problem with them installing a group of children focused rides at DHS - as long as that's not the ONLY thing they do. That park is sadly lacking in small children's entertainment, especially it you don't want to spend your entire day meeting characters or frantically trying to find your child amongst blades of grass. Mater's actually would be a great ride to transport to DHS. I think it is tons of fun for what it is. (A "whip" ride.) However, I am not sure this rumor is very realistic. WHY and HOW would you re-theme it to Woody's roundup? First off, you already have a Toy Story ride THERE...so unless you plan on an entire Toy Story themed area (not unprecendented I know there is one in Shanghai) that doesn't make sense. In addition, the way the ride works is there is the front portion of the vehicle (the tractor) and then the back portion of the vehicle (the ride car). This causes the "whip" effect. What in the Toy Story would you get this. You have Bullseye - but people don't get towed behind Bullseye, they RIDE him.Eh, I'm probably getting too carried away about a rumor.
