What Finally Got Me to Decide to Buy Direct

I used to lean a little more towards direct, but the price disparity has really made it quite tough to do...

When I got serious about looking resale prices were at an all time high - BLT in the $190s I believe, and direct was somewhere around I want to say $205 pp before incentives (which were rather modest as well, from what I recall).

But now, looking at where most of the resale market has landed, I feel for most owners resale is the better way to go.

I did recently add on a small direct contract, but I feel like contracts sub 50 points direct has a strong chance of winning out for convenience, bankable points, and though the premium may be high as a percentage, it is small relatively in terms of dollars.

I have thought about long term converting each resale contract to direct slowly but then im just like why.

We love split stays and there are so many resorts to choose from. Im not planning to stay at the new resorts every time so banking and borrowing should work just fine for split stays into newer resorts.

I did say tho if bwv goes on sale as a new resort id gladly flip, but thats because I love that resort.

I think the people that own at restricted resorts now and like to stay at the same hotel every year are really the only ones it makes full sense to go all direct and the people I have seen on here that own all direct fall into that category or bought during a really cheap direct sale. Im sire that there are others who have chose to do so just to have no restrictions on any of them, but I do not need 40 plus year contracts and I dont have kids to pass them too.

In all honesty, I can see us maybe selling all the resales needed to pay for bwv direct when that comes out and keep our Poly direct that we're going to buy next year and call it a day.
