Most Overrated things people rave about at WDW

Mickey bars
Wilderness Lodge (hate the decor)
Fantasmic!
Zebra domes (they're ok, not great)
Turkey legs (disgusting)
Vinylmation (totally don't get it)

EDIT:
TSMM! How could I forget this one! I appreciate that it's interactive, but I really, really, REALLY dislike midway games/carnivals/fairs

I don't see the hype with 7DMT.... it has the same thrill factor as the Barnstormer haha!
New Fantasyland in general, REALLY dislike Enchanted Tales with Belle (I'd rather a Princess Fairytale Hall type meet). Also, I'm partial to ToonTown (which if I'm not mistaken was axed to make room for New Fantasyland).
Also Mickey Ice Cream bars. You can get non-Mickey shaped ones at the grocery store!

Wow how about the 30 mins it took me to read this entire thread. lol. Took until page 11, over 200 posts to mention Stitch. No one has mentioned Ellens Energy, or lack there is. The best part of this ride is 40 min nap for me and dd in AC and dark. So I guess I still like it.

That's because this thread is about things that people rave about that are overrated, and I'm not aware of anyone raving about Stitch or Ellen.

Nobody mentioned it because nobody raves about it.

Rope Drop
Parades- ANY of the daytime parades
Character Meetings/ Autographs
Pin Trading
7DMT
Illuminations (although I love Fantasmic)
Your favorite restaurant on property. Whatever it is, overrated.

Seems like a lot of common themes are showing up on here after 14+ pages. I agree with 90% of them too ! If you step back and think about some of these things, and really think about it, you are going to keep asking yourself....>>WHY is there such a rave about some of these. The Mouse gets you to act Goofy at time !

Well, millions of people go every year, and we're all different. For example, a lot of people said Dole Whips are overrated, and that's something I must have every time. Ditto for Fantasmic.

At the same time, I just said above Rope Drop and Character Meetings are overrated, and lots of people plan their entire trip around those things. But that's why WDW works. If everyone loved the same things, you think it's crowded now...

Cinderella's Royal Table dinner - I thought it was cool to be in the castle but the food was not good.
Boma- I enjoyed seeing the AKL but the food was just ok.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train -A fun ride but it cant beat Splash, Space, or Big Thunder Mountains.
Toy Story Midway Mania- I dont see why people run here first thing. Not that I hate it but it is not worth an hour wait.
Fantasmic- It is worth seeing once but to me it just repeats some of things over and over.

I think that is awesome you get to go to campfires with Chip and Dale, watch a movie on a beautiful resort in nice weather in winter, bike on a boardwalk around Epcot, go on a boat ride and watch Wishes, and all near your house. I wonder why you even come when nobody would ever see that stuff as an enhancement at all, biking around my neighborhood is pretty much the same. Of course you want to come and walk 12 miles through a crowded park to ride Dumbo, or Triterecop Spin, or Aladdin's Carpet after 40 minute waits, good for you bud. There is a reason Disney offers those things to guests, and trust me, it isn't because nobody uses it.

Go ahead and tour the way you want. I am going to keep telling people I think they are missing out by not taking advantage of the resorts and other offerings Disney has, because to me, they are a hell of a lot of fun and most definitely not like doing those things near your house. For me, I have been on Small World or Big Thunder so many times, I can't remember each time as different. The memories I make on vacation are when I am with my family, whether it is on a ride, eating a meal, or watching a movie and relaxing. The slow times are what I cherish, not running around trying to get on every ride I can for 5 or 10 days.

Campfires with Chip and Dale are really that much better than campfires at any park, anywhere? You know you can watch movies at about a thousand other beautiful resorts in the winter for WAY cheaper, right? Why would you bike on a boardwalk near Epcot when you can just go to Epcot?

I don't ride the rides you listed at all, but the point is they have waits. Do people line up for bike and boat rentals for 40 minutes, or wait around for an hour for a campfire?

Also, how often do you go to WDW? Add "going to WDW once per year or more for non-locals" to my overrated list. If you go every year then sure, doing those other activities might be a good idea to keep things fresh. But if you've been on Small World and Big Thunder that many times, why do you keep going? There are plenty of other places out there I'd rather see (and have seen) than WDW, that oh by the way are considerably cheaper. Hence why I think doing those things at WDW is overrated.

DD is getting to do this once, later this year. I'm very OCD so the "magic" they sprinkle into her hair is going to be a nightmare. :scared:
Honey, she could hang her head out of a car window like a dawg, and her hair ain't movin'... And those sparkles.... Plan on bringing many of them home with ya, 'cuz they are about permanent!!! Lol! But she will look absolutely Bee-You-Tee-Ful! So worth it!

Hmmmm

Dessert parties
Via Napoli pizza
Deluxe resorts
Disney Springs (Unless you love to shop or want to get tanked it's truly bo-ring. That being said we usually go once a trip to eat.)

Vinlymation - I used to collect these and I surely do love the ones I have, very cute and make nice decorations, but just getting a decoration/collectible for that price? Not worth it.
Dole Whip - Hate them. I love pineapple and I love ice cream but I really just don't like these.
Toy Story Midway Mania - I go on it and it's fun but it's waaaay over hyped about, those lines are totally unjustified. I would have no problem not riding it during a trip but it's my family's favorite.
Meeting Anna and Elsa - I know they're still super popular right now but I don't think they need their own meet and greet area, just place them in the park like other characters.

The AWESOME food. Really? I have had things over the years that I have enjoyed and would have again, but I have yet to have anything to eat at WDW that I would rate as awesome, delish, yummy or any of the other words people use.

I'm so happy someone mentioned this. I make most of our food from scratch including breads and pastries. I think Disney food is blah.

Disney Springs, Tomorrowland Speedway and Muppets 3D for me. Too expensive, too.....????, and I really don't like (REALLY DON'T LIKE!) the little "Waldo" guy.
