Magic in NYC~June 2, 2012

Thanks Maria & Ron, looks like LaGuardia is the way to go. I was confused when the DCL agent told me 3:00 departing DW. We booked a 8:15 shuttle to Hollywood Studios.

Hi Betsy! Wow, can't believe it. I will have to intercept the email..I am going to theme the girls Easter baskets New York and Disney to surprise them. So let Mary-Grace know it will be a couple of weeks for a reply. We look forward to meeting up again.

Oh 3:00. Okay...I knew I had seen 3 or 3:30, but I guess my brain registered 3:30 because I remember thinking we could leave after the 3 o'clock parade! I'm partial to LaGuardia. I only live about 40 minutes from LGA and it's so much easier to get to than JFK. So we avoid JFK whenever possible. What a great Easter surprise for your girls! Love it!

Well my flight options with points are out of JFK. :( The times are either 11:45 or 2:45. We are real good at being first to debark. Is 11:45 too risky?

Are you all using cabs to get to the port from your hotels? (I do not prefer DCL transfers)

Thanks, Jill

Welcome Jill!

The DCL website says that the buses will start going back to the ship from all 4 parks at 3:30. The last bus from AK will leave at 8:00, last from DHS and Epcot at 10:00 and the last bus from MK will leave at 11:00.

I can't help you with transfers to/from airport, we are driving in from Ohio.

What time do they start disembarking? If it's at 8 am and you can be one of the first...then I think 8 am traffic to LGA will be pretty clear. You should have no problems making 11:45. You should allow 2 hours to check in and get through security. Sometimes LGA can take as much as 30 minutes to get through the security check point, especially in the morning. That's how long it took us last October when we flew to MCO. The sooner you can get out of LGA, the better. That airport is small, and they have very few seats for people waiting for a flight. I would hate to be stuck there until 2:45. At least a nice airport like MCO has a "mall" too keep everyone busy for a few hours.

With that said. How well do you handle what could be a stresslful situation? I would be a nervous wreck worrying about making it to the airport on time. I always end up kicking myself whenever we leave the Magic in FL. We end up getting to the airport around 10 and and then wait around until 3:30! LOL! I think timing hinges around when the ship will clear and they allow us to disembark. Last time I sailed out of NY....they didn't start letting people off until 9 am!! My dad and I were on the Holland America and we didn't get off until 10 am, but that's because we were being picked up and not having to catch a flight. NYC isn't too quick about clearing ships. So THAT is what I would be worried about. If you don't get off until 9 am, you might not make your flight. If they do onboard check-in and transfer your luggage like they do out of MCO, your chances do improve greatly. I would call them today to verify exactly what time they expect to clear the ship for people to disembark and if they are doing onboard airline check-in.

Sorry my response was so long.

Okay, I need some help from you resident New Yorkers!

We are coming into NYC the Sunday prior to the cruise, 5/27/12. We know that is Fleet Week and we know the Blue Angels are doing 2 "shows" on both Saturday and Sunday. We can't find any information online about what times the "shows" are. We are hoping to catch the later one on Sunday after we arrive. Does anyone know about what times they usually fly for Fleet Week???

We are super excited about showing the kids NYC and are trying to figure out our itinerary for the week!

LAST CALL FOR THE FISH EXCHANGE

I'm closing the group on Monday, April 2nd.

So don't miss the :boat: and come and join the

party:

Private Message me if you want to join the FE.

I will need the names of everyone in your room, ages of any children (at the time of the cruise), your room number and any food allergies. Also, let me know what you are celebrating (if anything).

I cannot believe we are in the single digits (in weeks) for our cruise!!! It will be here before we know it! :goodvibes

That is a great question about the Blue Angels - that would be wonderful to see. I don't think they have set a course/time yet, I just read an article earlier today that they flew by the Statue of Liberty today for a "potential course".

Hi, Has anyone had magnets designed for our cruise....before I spend an hour searching? Which Disigner?

Thanks, Jill
