I am a proud mother of a beautiful, kind, goofy, intelligent, respectful and caring 10 year old boy. I never thought twice about hearing him say the word "CRAP".

Another parent laughed when he said the word and made a comment about "that is where my son picked it up from!" She indicated in her family it was tantamount to the "s" word.

I never thought of the word "CRAP" as being a bad word. I thing of it like "shoot" or "darn" and the like.

What do you think?

I notice you have a third option with no notation in your poll. I think I would choose that. :p I don't really consider it a bad word, no; it falls somewhere in between a bad word and a good word, kind of like sucks or pissed off.

I don't mind hearing a kid say "crap". I don't like hearing a kid say "piss".

I'm with you - and yep, I even say sucks, frickin', freakin'.

Isn't it always interesting that when little Johnny or Susie say or do something that aghasts their parents that the finger has to be pointed at someone else?

I'm sure you and I will be flamed shortly by the moral and righteous people.....

Oh, crap.

Sorry--I'm not moral or righteous. We say crap at my house. We also say freakin'.

I have also been known to say Jeepers and Jiminy Christmas--both of which crack dd up.

I prefer saying balls to crap, but I agree it's not a bad word

Can't see whithout my glasses...what did you write

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't think of it as a bad word. I prefer that my kids don't say it, but it is better than the "s" word. I try to say "oh shoot" but I guess that is just as close to "s" as crap is.

I don't think there's anything wrong with crap. :D

we say crap but draw the line at "freakin'" for some reason that is just too close. BUT to each their own.

Crap is no big deal in our house. although I do "encourage" crud more often ;)

I think crap is fine for adults to say, I don't want to hear a child say it.

I personally think it's an UGLY sounding word. The inlaws use it ALL THE TIME to describe weather, as in "The weather was crap."

My kids (ages 13, 12 and 9) can't use "suck" "crap"or "butt" (nor can they use "stupid" or "dumb" in reference to a person.) Children often don't know when it is appropriate to use a word, and I sure don't want them to tell a teacher that something is crap or that it sucks. You can never get in trouble if you NEVER use those words; you may get in trouble if you do use those words. I'd rather people think my kids are too proper than too crude.

My daughter would be in trouble for saying it.
