Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace VersaillesHoly cow! Which property is this?
I just looked at the pictures---very nice! Too bad you couldn't add on at a similar rate.Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace Versailles
I’m really looking forward to it. But we definitely did not take them up on that offer!I just looked at the pictures---very nice! Too bad you couldn't add on at a similar rate.
I want to try to churn the Arrival+. I closed mine last week. I know common knowledge is 6 months between closing and trying again, but I'm curious if that's a rule or just a safe amount of time. There's a single DP in the comments in DoC of someone who only waited 8 days. Anyone can say anything online, but if that's true it would seem as long as you can get through Barclays approval you can churn them much faster.
I know I'm likely to be denied because of my inquiries and new accounts - I'm way over 6/24 - but they approved me for the previously closed Arrival+ at 16/24 if I remember correctly. I've taken advantage of spend bonuses on the Wyndham card every time they come around (about once every 3-4 months), and our monthly wireless charge is recurring on my Uber card, so all things considered I'm in as good of a position as I can be.
Okay, don't laugh at me but I only have 1 credit card that I have had for probably 10 years (and I swear I'm not like 80 or anything like that). Anyhow, I have finally given in to DHs request to fly to FL next year. Today I plan to apply for the Chase Southwest card. I just want to make sure that when I get the 40,000 after I spend $1000 in the first 3 months that I can then use those points to book flights for me plus a few of my kids. DH has the card already and probably has enough on his card to cover 2 flights so I'm hoping to cover the other 3.
We stayed at the Marriott in Cusco and absolutely loved it. Maybe my favorite Marriott ever.

Good luck! This reminds me that I should cancel whatever no-fee card I downgraded my Arrival+ to a few months ago. I also have the Barclay's no-fee AA card (also downgraded from something that I can't recall right now). Should I go ahead and cancel that one too? It has gotten almost no spend, so my thinking is that it's better to have no current Barclay cards, if I ever wanted to try for a second Arrival+, then to have a card that gets no spend. Any reason I should keep it open?
Been MIA again...was trying to pull off a Spring Break and couldn't. So instead it's a staycation and doing things around the house. Not having a spend right now feels weird so I went for the Barclay Biz again this morning and was sent into "review" just like I was back in the fall. I've added cards since then, but I was hoping maybe I'll get lucky.
Now I'm on hold w/ Amex. They are telling me the "5 rule" is per type. So I can have 5 biz and 5 personal. If that's the case, I'm golden on adding the Delta Biz Gold. If not, I'm cancelling that one and going for the biz gold off my self referral.
This is a tough one. Barclays will not approve you for another card in the same family if you have the no-fee version.
I presume your no-fee AA was downgraded from the AAviator Red. The thing is, Barclays is definitely easier when you're an existing customer, but they're not going to like no spend at all. If it were me, I think I would close one, put some spend on the other, wait 30 days, and apply for whichever one equivalent to what you closed. You can decide which one you want more. Both cards are at all-time highs right now, with the Arrival+ at 70k/waived AF and the AAviator Red at 60k/$95. If it were me, I would close the no-fee Arrival first, and hope that 70k offer is still around. The 60k AAviator Red comes and goes a couple times per year. We have never seen a 70k Arrival+ offer. We had also never seen a 60k Arrival+ offer either. Who knows what's happening with that card/offer in the future.
Interesting DP- I just placed an online order for gift cards with Staples - used my CIC and a RMN deal, so hopefully will get $10 back and 5x URs. When I first placed the order, I forgot to go through RMN, so I cancelled and reordered. I just got a call from customer service verifying the transaction and asking if anyone had asked me to buy the cards for them. They said they have seen fraudulent transactions with people being taken advantage of, so they are checking on transactions - it was only $125 in total, seems like a lot of work to have CS people verifying transactions! Anyway, it was interesting. I'm glad I picked up the call!
They automatically put dh’s new CIP on the same account as his other chase cards (including his other CIP). He still didn’t have any problemsAnyone else want to chime in on the risk of going for that 2nd CIP? As in, if it doesn't go through and I call, would they see 2 and shut down the account?
