The magically moving Mickey adds such flair at the end; I hope the fix is permanent too! Though did you hear anything indicating it was a broken lift? Mickey re-appears at the same spot as where he is during the Genie sequence (where he goes down brief and then comes back up), so I always assumed it was the same lift. That lift has been functioning fine in the past few months, so I had assumed it was a budget cut to remove magically moving Mickey.

It’a long been my understanding the two Mickey’s remain in costume for both performances, due to the flame retardants. This could be wrong or dated. Cutting the moving Mickey would make sense only if the performer suits up for another character for the finale.

The lift has definitely been broken. During the summer when it’s not completely dark, you could see the performer run offstage behind the pyro that was suppose to mask the appearance: and disappearance.

The bad news is that they’re slashing the number of hours character performers work, which means less characters in the park at any given time. The Evil Queen, who has been a daily staple ever since I can remember, will only appear during Halloween season going forward.

Is that definitely confirmed? If so, booooo. She's one of my favorites to see in the park. Such a different persona than any other character. Love her.

Not a rumor. Disney CM have privately confirmed that as off now, the Evil Queen will be a Halloween seasonal chapter only. She’s been an everyday character ever since I could remember. Appearently Disney wasn’t happy with the attention she wan receiving on social media, since it’s suppose to be about the character. Similar to how they re-did Tally The Elf’s role at WDW this year.

But yeah, sadly CM are confirming that Disney is cutting the hours for character performers.

Are the characters normally on the app if they're just walking around Fantasyland or that kind of thing, rather than doing meet and greets? I've seen her pretty often in Fantasyland but then again, I don't normally check the app.

Captain Hook, Pan, Genie all walk around the land and are on the app most the times I go.

Some others as well like Aladdin and so either walk or meet near small world

Evil Queen has definitely been an “everyday”character ever since I can remember. Not sure what Disney posts on the app.

I aged about the viralness. You’d think it’d be a good thing. They retooled Tally The Elf’s, who is a seasonal theme park character no less, so it doesn’t interact with the public this year after the character blew up last year.

The app has gotten a lot better about listing characters times and locations. For those that are roaming, it will usually indicate that they are on the walkway next to the Alice & Wonderland attraction or the terraced area near Small World. That doesn't mean they stay in those locations, but indicates they are in the park that day. Still, there is a chance that someone might be roaming and not listed on the app. Last week Flynn Rider was wandering all over the park looking for Rapunzel and I didn't see him listed on the app.

Regarding the Evil Queen, she may be a busy day character or weekend character, but I don't remember her being there everyday. This year, she was out a lot because of the release of the live action Snow White (she was often with SW) and then, of course, Halloween which started in August.

Moving Mickey has stopped once again but it’s clearly an issue with the elevator. You can clearly see Mickey running onto and off stage in portions he would otherwise use the elevator.

No pyro last night or tonight. Last night fireworks were cancelled but they appear to be a go tonight so not sure what the excuse is. Watched a stream a moment ago and it was pretty funny - in the intro Mickey put his hands up and when the fireworks don’t go off and stated moving around looking for them, using hand gestures and all. Very creative - never saw that Before!

Yeah, saw the show last night...its really disappointing anymore. No pyro, little bit of fire, def no fingers. The whole ending is so convoluted, who knows whats going on. The witch just ran around.
Gosh, I miss Murph...ever since, its been downhill all the way.
I realized I really only come to see all the characters on Mark Twain at the end and the princess floats. The story? There isnt one anymore. So sad. I've been a stalwart Fantasmic supporter up til now but until we get a revamp, I'm over it.

C'mon, Disney, we deserve better.
