A couple nice DP's to report . . .

#1 - Success with the Southwest personal 50k link. Just received the 50k miles after 2K spend for DH. That was a relief to see since I hated hated hated applying without a landing page.

#2 - I just applied for a CIP for DH and was approved (his old CIP was over 24 months old and had been downgraded in January). This is his 6th Chase business card, and I was holding my breath. I previously reduced credit limits to put him at about 30% of income. I also waited 30 days after his last application, which was on 4/2. We have some travel charges coming up, and I really wanted to have the CIP in hand to earn the 3x on MSR. Otherwise I would have waited another month or two. I know we were pushing it velocity wise . . . 11/18 Ink Unlimited, 1/1 Ink Cash, 3/1 SW Biz, 3/2 SW personal. @SouthFayetteFan - figured you'd be interested in this one.

Was looking to book the Doubletree San Pedro before our cruise out of Los Angeles, but all the standard rooms were gone before I could finish MSR and get the points from the Hilton Biz. So I booked a Courtyard near LAX instead with URs. Well, today one room at the Doubletree popped up and I grabbed it! 30,000 HH points and I'm getting close to 1 cpp. We need 2 rooms, so got another room at 19,000 URs with CSR. Surprisingly, the price is cheapest on the Chase Portal, even compared to Expedia. Going to keep stalking the Hilton website to see if another room pops up.

I called before about parking at the hotel during our cruise without the park and go package (which isn't possible to book with points). Was told that we'll be able to since we have Gold status. So that's $18/day port parking saved. The HH points room should get free breakfast, which is more important for my parents. If the UR room gets breakfast it'll be a nice surprise, but if not there'll be plenty of food on the ship, lol!

Do it! Hotel rates are so cheap for the summer. I got Yatch Club for $290 a night. Im kinda glad they don't have the meet and greets. I feel like it would then be like Disneyland's after hours and those look packed. I really liked like DAH event we did in December. I have a 45 second video of us on the Peoplemover and we did not see a single person in Tomorrowland. SO didn't like it that much because the park didn't have any "atmosphere" but I loved it lol. I just hope this doesn't bring huge crowds.

We checked out of our best western plus in Joliet today. It was a decent hotel for a one night stay. We literally just were there to sleep and then we woke up and are driving home now. BUT I have to share what the shower looked like because it was the one redeeming quality to the hotel lol. It was like you were getting a back massage while taking a shower

We’ll definitely wait until some reviews come out. I’m not sure I could miss more nannying in the summer. I’ll already be missing two weeks so they have to find someone else for me. If we do go, it’ll be a universal stay with that one night at Disney. I want to do a universal/Busch gardens trip. Plus we can book universal hotels through the chase portal

My worry is that they'll up the number of tickets sold. I get there aug 7 and it says it's through the 8th so I want to go to the last one. The villians part is cool but I jist wanted an emptier park and stuff. At least I can get an AP discount and since I'm going to the Dis event that weekend I'm sure they'll be a lot of people from it that add it on which could make it fun too.

I went to a couple of Staples over the weekend for the fee free promo. One place insisted I could only buy one, and as soon as the (rude) manager heard me ask about them, he came over and asked to see the card I was going to use and my ID before allowing the cashier to ring me up. I asked what his problem was, and she said they are protecting against people using stolen credit cards to purchase the fee free cards. I left with my one card and then went to the other Staples in town and bought $1000 worth, lol.

Glad you found some last week! I went to 3 Staples last week and only found cards at one store. Of course, they only let me buy 1 card and it was too far away to go back. The OD near me has plenty of MCGC this week, but it isn't as good of a deal and I worry more about getting too many of them.

question...I don't think I ever received a Bonvoy replacement card for my SPG card(s) so I've been using my old purple card no problem... has anyone else gotten a new card?

Received an offer today on my IHG card for 5x points on Internet, Cable/TV, Phone, Utilities and Insurance purchases.

"Earn a total of 5X bonus points on up to $2,000 in purchases when you pay select bills with your IHG Rewards Club Credit Card from Chase between April 1 and June 30, 20191."

You have to activate the offer first. Hopefully they have other fun stuff planned for better cards

How risky would it be to try for second CIP this month (waiting till greater than 2 months since last app)? My credit limits are currently approx. 28% of household income. Currently I’m 4/24 (Chase cards bolded):

My wife had a CIU in 11/18 and a CIC in 2/19 (so very similar). I’m waiting until May to go for CIP2 for her (and so if you’re asking - I’d make the same recommendation to you). I just don’t want to risk shutdown over going too fast. You’re also about to be 1/24 in May so I’d factor in whether you want to risk a Chase shutdown with so much runway available soon.
