Kelly- Let me know how you like AKL...especially the concierge part. We are DVC members and since we can now book concierge..I would like to try it. I am just afraid I will feel too far from the action. We stayed at SSR in Feb before our cruise and I did not like that place at all. I felt like was in an apartment complex and no where near WDW.

Have a great trip!

We love AKL!!! If we needed to do an off the monorail trip again, we would pick AKL in a heartbeat!!! I almost had DH convinced to do AKL over Pop, but in the end the price won out ($500 more for AKL).

Some people think it is dark, but I kind of like it that way. We were BLOWN away by the lobby (we stayed at Christmastime) When we saw WL's lobby a few days later we actually laughed at it (We think AKL's is SO much nicer). The rooms are decent size, but there are queen beds, not doubles, so that eats up the extra floor space. We were booked standard and were upgraded to Savannah. My only issue is that the elevators don't go to all the floors (kind of like a cruise ship) To get to the Mara from our room we had to go to one elevator bank, go down to the lobby and then go to another elevator bank to get down to the ground floor where the restaurants are.
The grounds are beautiful, the bus area is completely covered so if it rains, you are dry from the moment you get off the bus all the way back to the room (this is my one and ONLY beef about the GF). We didn't think we would like the theming, but we REALLY, REALLY did...

Channing: Peak/Regular season, still the same to me :goodvibes

I have a Pathfinder too. Not loving it  We had a Murano before and I like how roomy it was. DH got the Pathfinder without me, I thought he was going to get the Armada edition (the larger pathfinder) that's the one I wanted. With two huge carseats in the backseat, it's a tight fit. We've actually been thru the whole Nissan line-up and I think when this lease is up we're leaving to Infinity or Cadiliac. We need something larger. We have third row seating and never used it. You just can't access the seats.

I will also not send DH alone to go car shopping:rotfl: ! Learned my lesson the first time. I just told him make sure to get the DVD package, heated seats and the 6 CDs in the dash. I didn't think I'd have to tell him to make sure the backseat is roomy for the carseats, he didn't even sit in the backseat. Then again, we were not even pregnant with DS1 when we got the car.

Sorry you guys are stuck in the rain. It's gorgeous here in NYC today. 70 and sunny. Took the boys to the playground after school and it was PACKED! I saw woman already out wearing sundresses and flipflops! I didn't think it was that hot out!:rotfl:

Kristin, that is so funny ....I knew you had to have seen that ugly pink blob. It's everywhere!!! DS said kids keep keying it.:rotfl: :rotfl: I think it's awful but kind of funny. It is a monstrosity. DS goes to the high school with the nanny raised brats. A pink Hummer is nothing. That's a junker, haha. Kids drive Jaguars. It has given him a whole new view on today's teens. S P O I L E D. BIG TIME.

Annette - that is so cool that your friends got the Disney bug!!! Yay! I know practically nobody but you guys, my imaginary friends, that love Disney. :rotfl: I am hanging with the wrong crowd here. They are almost ANTI WDW. Unreal but true.

Kelly, I am screaming!!!! You are too much!!! :rotfl:

We ate at Boma once but never stayed at AKL. I liked Boma, but it was HUGE and if you're not near the buffet and you have needy kids it can be a hassle....dh hated it.:confused3 He didn't like the spices or something? Whatever. He also hates Octoberfest in Germany and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. He likes Morocco....ick. I thought the AKL lobby was stunning and the back with the animals was neat.

And you guys out East with the wicked nice weather....just wait - the crap we've got is probably heading right toward you!!!!:rotfl:

I had the Toyota Sequoia when it first came out I HAD TO HAVE THAT CAR!! I love car shopping....anyway, I had the Sequoia for a few yrs and loved it - I am a Toyota fan, but now a converted Nissan fan.... I was past all that car seat and stroller stuff so I wanted an easier car to park and use less gas etc....I am totally in love with my Pathfinder. The Armada is the size of the Sequoia. Mine is fully loaded and I love it. My kids use the 3rd row seating all the time when they have friends with....we just summersault the 2nd row seats forward and they climb in...I've even been back there! The Sequoia seated 8 and I am almost 6 ft tall and was comfy in the 3rd row of that car, but my Pathfinder I am tight and sit sideways in the 3rd row.....I can do it though haha.. DH's nav system that came in his 350Z and the one he bought extra for the Jeep is so much better than the one in the Pathfinder. I can see how it would be tight w/ the car seats.....we had a Jeep Grand Cherakee too and it was tight with the boosters etc.

Chan I just PMed you
You are gonna scream

Anyone ever do Great Wolf Lodge?

We went to Great Wolf Lodge a couple of years ago with the girls, Kelly. It was a lot of fun, even though I got a horrible rash on my feet and legs from the bed in the room. BLECH! Still, the one we went to has an Aveda spa on-site and I went there and that was so NICE. The kids had a blast and really, how can that not be worth it? :)

Thanks we were thinking of driving out there next week for Shawns bday. He will on school vacation and its his bday Monday. Its a 5 hour drive so we are gonna chat about it tonight when DH gets home.

My QX56 is Infiniti's version of the Armada- I love it!!! We have Captain's Seats in the second row and the third row is bench seating for 3 (even adults fit back there :thumbsup2 ) There is still a trunk even with the third row up, but we kept down when we had the stroller in there full time.

That is too funny about your Jeep! DH always said he wants to get DS a Wrangler when he turns 16 (mostly because he wants to drive it!!)

Our pathfinder is fully loaded too. The Navigation isn't the best, I do like the bose stereo - if only DS4 would wear the wireless headphone I'd really love it!:rotfl:

It's just awful when I add my niece's carseat and have 3 carseats in the backseat. It's so tight! We all have Britax carseats, DS4 has the Regent which is the largest carseat I've ever seen! It's like a throne:wizard: DS1 has a Britax Roundabout and my niece has a Britax Marathon. Seriously we have to slam the door shut because her carseat hits the door:rotfl:

DH has been eyeing the Escalade or the Infinity X something something. I think the one Kristen has. As long as its room and has heated leather seats, I'm happy:rotfl:

Ooooh, gotta get dinner going!

Ladies allthis talk about big SUV's is giving me the "I want a new car" bug!:rotfl:

We have a hot little minivan,:lmao: had to have something big enough to hold four car seats that I could access the 3rd row easily. DS was only 3 when I had baby #4 so I had them all in real car seats and all the SUV's that we looked at seemed so inconvenient to get to that 3rd row! Plus I was so afraid that a kid would fall out of the car and get really hurt or I would pull my back out hoisting a carrier into a tall SUV (I'm shorter) Now that the oldest 2 kids are in boosters we are ready to go for the huge SUV! We are looking at the long suburbans or the really big fords (don't know the name) DH wants a conversion van :scared1: But I refuse to drive a huge hideous van like that! :sad2:

By the way my sister has a H3 and it's really cute, I don't care for the H2 or H1 :sad2:

How many does the Armada seat? Our friends have one for sell and DH said it was nice but I didn't think it would be big enough for us??????:confused3

Depends on that second row. Our second row has two captains seats so it seats 7. Some may have a bench for second and third row, which would mean seating for 8.

I only have 1 car seat, so that was never an issue for us. In our car, the center console(Sp?) in the second row can come out all together which would make for easy access to the third row. If that second row was a bench however, I would think one of the seats would need to flip up to give access to the back- not sure, though...

The real problem you would have is needing that third row up all the time, so your trunk space would be minimal. You probably are better off looking at an SUV that comes in an EL version (Escalade, Suburban etc.) so you still have ample trunk space for strollers etc. with the third row up, KWIM?

For everyone who is wondering just what the heck we are talking about, this is the car

Kelly:

We went to the one in Williamsburg, which is about 2-3 hours from our house (I think). It was a lot of fun, and I think your boys are the perfect age for it. If the kids are any older (like 12 or older), I can't see them having that much fun there. But for preschoolers and grade school kids, it's perfect.

You would be going to the one in PA, correct? We were actually thinking of trying that one out this spring, but the drive probably would not have been worth it. You'll have to tell me how it is!

Linda

Ladies, ladies, ladies ... think of the environment! :lovestruc

Oh well, who am I to talk? It's not like I drive a Prius. I will say though -- I hate those Hummers. Seriously, does anyone really need to drive an armored car to go grocery shopping here in the US?

The big-**** Infinity SUVs are pretty awesome - I'll give you that. :thumbsup2

Linda

I like the safety of having all wheel drive on the SUVs. We go to our house in the Poconos year round and the snow and ice in the winter is bad. Nothing keeps me indoors, so driving with the kids in the car, I feel safe in a big SUV.

And bum warmers are the best in the winter!:lmao:

That's what I fugured. If you want cargo space AND the 3rd row you gotta have those big long wheel base SUV's.

DH started carpooling/riding his bike/ and even taking the bus to work. They give you a bonus every month if you try and go "green" so he and a few co workers have started carpooling and taking the city bus. He also has a nice bike and bikes the bike path about 8 miles 3 times a week to get some extra exercise. He's a weird hippie :hippie: :rotfl: and he also has to loose 60 lbs. We found out he will be getting a Prius to drive a as a work vehicle and so we sold the second car! Makes me feel a little less guilty having to buy a gas guzzler! :rotfl:

Kristin and Channing Have fun at your makeup playdate!:rotfl: I 'm hoping you get lots of tips to share with the rest of us!

By the way ladies I have been VERY good on my diet so far and decided to weigh myself this morning, so far this week I am down 3 lbs! :yay: Yippee, just had to share!

Oooh, find out how to use the primer.

Has anyone ever used Laura Geller Make Up? I see her all the time on QVC and her salon is nearby on Lexington Ave. I'm interested in her "Chalk" and "Spackle". I've never used a make up base.
