Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I can't wait for Wednesday. I hope they show last weeks episode before the new one - I missed it.

I haven't gotten rid of the mirror yet. Everyone seems to want me to get rid of it, but I think I'll wait til after they bless the house.

BUT, one thing I'm definately getting rid of is my grandfather's masonic ring. I've heard bad things about rings like his. :confused3 What do y'all think.

Well my GF was a Mason and I have never heard anything bad about it. It is primarily a religious organization.

Hey Y'all! I'm backfrom Savannah and had a fabulous time. We did a ghost tour that was a lot of fun and ate in a haunted rest. I was sitting by this galss window that over looked another room. I kept looking over my shoulder expecting to see someone there and then the waitress told us that the window has a lot of activity around it. I guess people take pictures and then see faces in the panes. I was sitting there saying that the ghosts could show themselves to me....I wanted to experince something! So my sister took my picture and I had my arm around a "pretend ghost" I just saw the picture and above my head in one of the panes I can see a face! :scared1: Now it could just be lighting etc, so I'll have to wait for my pictures to get put on the computer and see if it looks the same in them.

We also went into the Sorrell-Weed house. This is a house that Ghosthunters went into in 2005 for their Halloween show and got some good evp's. The whole time there I kept saying to myself "if there are any ghosts here you can go ahead and touch my arm or leg, I want proof" but nothing. My sister and I did get creeped out in the basement...I had really weird feelings there. And in one of my pictures it looks like an orb towards the floor, but again, I'm looking on my little screen on the camera so once I get them into the computer I'll be able to tell better.

The last place we went to before we came home was an old cemetary. This was a plce that Sherman's troops kinda messed up big time. There is a back wall where they lined up all the damaged head stones. I was walking along and started to read some and all of the sudden I got really light headed and sick to my stomach. All I could think was "I need to get away from here" As soon as I walked away I started to feel better....it was really strange.

Hopefully I'll have time to take care of the pictures tonight and then I'll get them posted here.

The Masons do work with high/Ceremonial magic so I have 2 thoughts o the "curse". While there certainly are differences, there is a lot of similarities between their ceremonies and Wiccan rituals.

IE.... Misunderstanding of "magic" lead to rumors of curses, spells etc

Residual energy left over if energy isn't displaced/grounded correctly. That was my thinking behind the cleansing instructions above.

Also wanted to add to my cleansing instructions.
Nothing works unless you "believe" in it.
IE for Christians who ar open to such, I would suggest using phrasings similar to the Christian suit of Armour link I gave earlier.
For those more open to energy power, envision each element working on the item.... Invision each element (the air/smoke fire/candle etc) cleansing the item.

That is probably the same cemetary we met our guide at when the girlscout troop took a ghost tour. The cemetary was close so we went back the next day and looked around for hrs. No good stories other than having fun reading the changes that Sherman's troops made to the headstones.
One girl did get a weird pic while we were talking to the guide. She put her camera through the bars to take a a pic of one of the headstones he was talking about. There is a big black line in the pic and it can't be one of the gate bars. I saw her take the pic. Her camera was on the othe side of the gate

Well we are all interested in the paranormal. We all were just wondering how she got a TV show. There have to be tons of others who are more experienced. I mean we all should make our own show. We could call it "Ghost Squad" LOL>

IfI ever had a show there would be lots of "run dude" moments. As brave as I was being saying something could touch me, if it actually did I don't know what I would have done.

Sounds like the same place. We went by it at night but couldn't go in so I was taking pictures through the bars both with and without flash. I also took pictures during the day while we were there. I'm hoping I get time to get the pictures into my photbucket tonight, I am interested in seeing if anything weird is on them.

I was a Rainbow(part of the Masons) girl and many of my family were Masons and I do not know any of the rituals that had any high ceremonial magic in them. They were all involving God and being Christain. It was all quite BORING.

I have a friend that is in the Eatern Star and is a wiccan high priestess. She has said it is very similar, and the basic allegation is that the founder of Wicca stole the high magic right from the Masons

Many denominations of Christianity will actually claim that Masonary is devil worship because of the rituals

Freemasonry - Are There Any Implications For Christians?
Freemasonry is responsible for many noble causes. Nobody can deny the social and charitable works done by the Brotherhood. However, as a "religious" institution, there are beliefs and practices in Masonry that are incompatible with biblical Christianity. The Mason who professes to be a Christian must decide whom he will serve: the God of the Bible or the god of Freemasonry. He cannot serve both. Ultimately, every Christian who participates in Masonry must ask himself, "What does the Lodge teach us to do with Jesus Christ?" "The Mason who is a Christian is put in a very difficult position. Although his Fraternal Order supported his Christianity in its early years, it now no longer allows for it, as there is no question about the pagan orientation of Freemasonry in our day. Therefore, the Mason must ask himself whether he can, in good faith, remain a part of an organization that devalues the God of Christianity." (Russ Wise, Freemasonry and the Christian Church, 2002)

ETA: I do not agree with the above at all. Just pointing out that many see a conflict between Masonary and Christianity.

When I was a Rainbow girl the Lodge to which I belonged would only LET Christians join. It was very discriminatory. I really hated the whole thing because as I said it was Boring with a captial B.
ETA: acutally, now that I think of it only Protestants were allowed to join.

I believe how much they incorporate the high magic completely depends on the Lodge

Thanks for the reminder, I keep forgetting it's Wednesday since I didn't work on Monday.

Breezy just go on YOU TUBE! Look up season5 Iron Island . YOu need to watch it in 5 parts because on You Tube they can only post up to 10 minutes b/c it has to do with copywrite or something. That is where I watched it. I am not near my tv when it was on so I watch it the next night.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

It's interesting. Thanks for the cleansing instructions sha lyn. :thumbsup2

I'm really at a loss what to believe. I do know that as a christian, the rituals and oaths are in direct contradiction to christian beliefs. And, sha lyn, the one where the masons must choose - gaves me chills. From my understanding, the masons use the guise of christian tenants to draw in members, but the higher up in degree you go - more is revealed and darker oaths must be given. I can tell you that at my grandfather's calling hours, the masons had their own private ceremony. It was creepy that they would have their own death ceremony, when he was having a christian one the next day. :confused3

I don't know - but I do know that I'm not taking any chances. - The ring goes, but we'll do the cleansing first.

 For those who may be new to this thread, please remember to RATE GH with the ghost rating system. It is from 0 to 10 ghosts with 10 being heart attack material! Last week we averaged about 8.5 ghosts. It has been a long time since there has been a show rated more than 3 to 5 ghosts!! IMHO when I see a low rating I know I can take my time or not watch at all.

:hyper: I can't wait!!! popcorn::

I hope I'm up for it - I had a really creepy night last night. I was in our home office and out of the blue, on my left side - I swear something was right next to my face. My instinct was to shy away from it and shoo with my hand, because I thought something was going to touch my face. I had to call DH in while I gathered up my things and moved into the greatroom to watch tv. I was pretty scared. Then, I woke up last night pretty scared. It may have been me just still freaked out from earlier that night, but I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was in our hallway. :sad2: Who knows. I'll be glad when tomorrow's over - I'll let everyone know how it goes.

BTW, Bella did you ever have your house saged? I can't remember.
