:thumbsup2 Welcome HeyItsMe. :wave2:

Breezy, I hope the blessing works for you and Bella, I hope the smudging works for you.

Last weeks episode of GH really bummed me out. :guilty: Just thinking of a 9yo spirit being caught in between worlds. I think of my kids and if (god forbid) they were to get caught in between like that, well it's just :sad1: . I know it's probably irrational to think like that and it's just my mother's protective instinct kicking in but it still makes me sad to think about it.

Okay I rate it 5 ghosts also but this one made me a little upset.

Honestly, I think it was very irresponsible of Jason to tell the little boy he could come home with him. First, HOW did they know it was really a little boy and not a negative entity using deception(omg that sounds like a psycho wrote it). Second, by inviting him to come home with him he is NOT telling him to go to the light. Obviously, the little boy was earthbound and the mill was not where he belongs. He belongs on the other side with souls in his family group. I could tell that it hit home with both the guys and mabye it was just a gut reaction on Jason's part and I feel he only meant it for the best but he does know better.

Why would anyone tell a spirit to come home with them ....unless they were on the Haunted Mansion Ride! I wish that when they encounter these earthbound souls, they would at least tell them to go to the other side if not have someone come in and send them there. Possibly it is the editing but I never hear them tell the souls to go to the light. Occasionally they make a weak suggestion but what if the soul does not understand they can move on? I guess it bothers me sometimes that when they go in and find something that they do not try to aide the spirit. I feel sometimes that the owners of the restaurants etc use the ghost as a gimick to bring in customers . I think that is explotive. I guess this is the first time it occured to me because as a mother it too would upset me if I thought one of my boys was stuck alone like that.

ONe more criticism, while I trust J&G, I would like it better if when they used the K-2 meter, the cameraman got both J or G in the shot along with the meter. Most critics and skeptics will say that the K-2 meter could be going off and then the questions could be edited in later.

As you guys all know, I do love the show but the little lost boy really got to me and started me thiking.

Bella, I didn't think about the little boy possibly being a negative entity. :scared1:

Also, I never heard them use the term 'go to the light' either. I wonder if they even believe that will work? :confused3 I know I believe it becuase I've had a first hand experience with it, but maybe they feel it doesn't work. I'm going to go on their website and ask if they have a spot for questions.

Good Idea. I had never really thought that much about it till the last episode but when you DO think about it , it does make sense.

I thought the same thing. While it made for good TV it would have been better to see it all at the same time, not them asking the question and then close up on the meter.

I also remember one show when they did say something to the effect of helping them (the ghost/haunting/whatever) move on if that was what the homeowners wanted, but they never used the term "into the light". I wonder if they do offer that off camera?

They tell the homeowner sometimes that they can find someone to help the spirit move on if that is what the homeowner wants but here again when they encounter someone in pain such as the episode with Sharon Tate, or the one where the mother hanged herself at the fort(cannot remember which episode that was) I cannot understand why they do not at least tell them what the option is. As for the little boy on the last episode, well they were supposedly communicating with him so why not ASK him or tell him he has options. I do not see why they would not do that on tv. Do you think we are the only ones who feel this way? I don't know if most people watch it past the "scare" factor.

As always Bella, I am with you on this one. I thought the same thing about inviting the boy home. I mean, why not try to pass him over instead. :sad2:

Oh, and with kids at home - the last thing I'd be doing is inviting an entity home with me. Maybe I'm a little gun shy after the last time I did that with the ouija board :scared1: , but nothing good could come of it IMO.

My hubby, who honestly half pays attention to the show, looked up from the paper he was reading when Jason invited "the little boy" home and said "what is he doing, is he nuts" and then like most of you it gave me pause like, yeah why would he do that?

Nice or not...dont come home with me! thats just like asking for trouble and your right, yep you think "its" nine and you think "its" alost little boy but there's no way to know for sure. and even still do you really want to take it/him home?

Yeah that one really made me go hmmmm???

It was a 5 ghost'er for me as well since the second place was a dud:goodvibes

I have to agree on all counts for this one. I did do a bit of a double-take when Jason asked the "boy" to come home with him. I was wondering if part of that conversation was edited out.

But speaking of editing - I also thought that they should do better camera work with the K-2. It would be TOOOO easy to edit-in the blinking lights. Not that I'm saying that they did; I'm only saying that the camera work leaves it open to people assuming so.

I give it 4 ghosts. I rate it with the reminder that if they found a haunting EVERY episode it would also bring up a fair amount of criticism. But I still way prefer it when they do find evidence :thumbsup2

Anyone know when the radio show will start the new season? There is the possiblity that one of us could call and ask these questions. Certainly if we came up with this then we are most likely not the only ones. I nominate............WARD to call after all she is the OP! LOL

WE therefore nominate in absentia WARD 1 to call Beyond REality and ask the question.

Hey WARD you have to keep up with all the threads b/c you never know what will happen when you are away. LOL!

The episode last night was at Slater Mill which is in the city next to mine. I thought it was so cool of what they got out of the boy

Isn't that where "Graveyard Shift" the movie was filmed?;)

I don't know. Are you talking about the Graveyard Shift with Michael Keaton(from like 25 yrs ago) or is there another movie by that name?

I wish they would go to the Boot Cotton Mill in Lowell MA. I took an extensive course there a couple of years ago. We asked the park ranger who was one of our instructors if the place was haunted and she said that the museum part was said to be. Some of the rangers had experiences and one of them was of a child being seen in the museum area. It only stands to reason it would be a child here too b/c they were the ones who got killed while changing the bobbins. In Lowell, the bobbin changers were girls the runners were boys.

:scared: Geeez, I step away for a while to put up my harvest decorations and I come back nominated for a job. I feel like that Monty Python skit where the Captain is asking for a volunteer and everyone in line (except me) takes one step backwards.

I will check out the beyond reality link and see what I can find out.
