Sugar Loaf? when will refurb be done? Will both rooms and CL be finished by August?

Wait, what? There's a refurb going on at Sugar Loaf? When is it expected to be done?

Sugar Loaf refurb is scheduled to start June 1, I believe. And the main building rooms will be started at the end of June. Sugar Loaf is open in July because we are staying there. So my guess is yes it will be done.

I just changed my YC club level reservation to Sugar Loaf for 6/15. There was no mention of a refurb. Now I'm worried. Should I be??

So nice to hear you enjoyed your stay at AKL CL our first stay on Disney property was AKL CL this past February and we LOVED it when we checked in, the CM gave us Mimosas with the jungle juice and I all but think I gulped down about a dozen during the check in process from then on, I called it crack juice every time we visited the lounge, everyone knew what mama wanted BRING MAMA SOME CRACK JUICE I tried to find an IV drip, to make sure the juice a la crack was with me all the time, however, no such luck All in all, we loved everything about AKL CL and glad to know you did as well

Hi all! We are back from 4 glorious nights at AKL CL! We had such an amazing experience so I thought I'd post the highs and low's!
HIGHS:
-The lounge is gorgeous, spacious and very welcoming!
-The food offerings are delicious - all day, every day! Evening apps were so different and wonderful! Loved the variety of hummus at night and the tea in the afternoon was a nice treat! The scones with cream shouldn't be missed!
-The jungle juice mimosas - drink many of them if you can!
-Our room had an amazing view and was maybe a 2-3 minute walk to the elevator and lounge - no problems with the room being on 4 and the lounge on 6 - We had a bunk bed room which was lovely!
-The CM's in the lounge were out of this world! They when out of their way to be friendly, accommodate us in anyway, answer our questions and then some! They were definitely a highlight of the trip!

LOWS:
-The only real complaint I have is that there weren't "to-go" cups like Poly has... I hated giving DD3 such breakable dishes, cups and plates! She didn't break any but I was constantly concerned! Also, I didn't realize I could ask for a coffee cup to take "to-go" until the last morning - I wish they would just have these out! I will take some disposable things next time!
-I wish the lounge looked out over the Savannah - I know that it can't be moved but I would have loved that view while we snacked!

Overall, we had such an amazing experience CL at AKL! I highly recommend the experience!

Now... looking forward to trying out GF SL in July!!!

Just switched to Grand Floridian Sugar Loaf standard view. Just wondering if anyone had any advice on room location or layout for family of 5? Any other little tips to share about clubs level here. Also we arrive in 3 1/2 weeks. Should I contact IPO since it is so close. Not sure if I'll get the usual email reaching out or not. Thanks in advance for any help.

It's like the clouds opened up, nectar poured down and Disney labeled it jungle juice

Whilst at AKL, I was recovering from back surgery... told the CMs that if I rubbed the jungle juice on my back, I would be healed

Our next trip to DA WORLD is in September and I wanted to stay AKL CL... DH asked if I wanted to stay AKL CL for the Savannah view I said forget the view!! BRING ON THE CRACK JUICE he wasn't amused so we're staying BWI CL

The only thing I've drank better than jungle juice at AKL CL, was Limoncello in Italy I almost stayed behind in Italy with Guido for never ending Limoncello

We had 6316 in February.. Perfect view.. 2 queens and a couch..overlooked the pool but was "standard" ask to be near that room

MOVE OVER girls!!! I'm ready for my jungle juice!!!!!!!!!!!! This trip is just about to put me in the looney bin!!! This morning I found out BOTH of my boys made it into summer camp (they've been on the waitlist for 8 months) for WEEK ONE! Which starts JUNE 8, our last day at WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I had to FRANTICALLY rearrange our return home, change our flights, fill out the camp forms, go get shot records and proof of a physical, and basically turn our lives upside down. But I DID IT!!!!!!! And now I'm ready for all the grey goose slushies, margaritas, jungle juices, sunken treasures, and whatever else I can use to come down from this INSANITY called my life!!!!
