EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Kathryn - Make a thread on the community board and some members might have some good ideas for you.

I called 1-888-325-2500, told them our cruise date, and asked what movies were playing. He spewed the list pretty fast. I'm pretty sure he did not say Enchanted or National Treasure. DH says it come out the Friday of our cruise. Maybe they'll surprise us.

Yes, Stacie, we must have been posting at the same time before. I'm just seeing your post. I have to rock John to sleep. I know he would not go to sleep if I just put him in the PNP awake. If he keeps up his sleeping habits, I may need to nap with him.

Kathryn ~ DL is very educational. Do they have the Hall of Presidents? Soarin'? Mission Space and Space Mountain? The girls can learn all about our presidents, geography, and space exploration. I'm sure others can think of more educational experiences.:teacher:

Melissa ~ good luck with the job search. If all else fails, you can be a Disney trip planner.

Hey all--
I'm glad it's almost Friday!!

DD has been taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) this week. It is a multi-part standardized test that all elementary/Jr. High kids take for benchmarking purposes. They have been taking at least an hour every morning, and then we're trying to squeeze everything else in.

Our Girl Scout troop is going to go up to camp this weekend. I think I'm going to skip out on this one because Andy still isn't 100% and DH has been so busy at work that I don't want to stress him out any more.

Last weekend we went to the Disney Store and got Andy an outfit for his one-year pictures. I also got him a little plush Mickey. When we got home the pants were too big so I called and ordered him a smaller size, and got two more Mickeys (just in case the dog decides to eat one for a snack). The box came today and one of the Mickeys is without a tail! I guess quality control at the mouse factory isn't that great.

Anyone else have big plans this weekend?

Hi Stacie. Sorry Andy isn't completely well yet. Have you decided what you are going to do for his birthday yet? I cannot believe he is going to be a year old.

We have a family reunion on Saturday. Thankfully, it is local, so we don't have to travel very far. Sunday Rachel's Y-Princess group is meeting at our house. I think this is similar to girl scouts, but it's for dads and daughters. Some how I've got to find time to clean my house.

John woke last night at 1, 3:30 and 5. He was then awake from 5 am to 1:30 pm. He's making me not want to go on the cruise at all. I don't see his habits changing in a little over a month.

No decisions on the birthday party. DH and I neiher one get along real well with our siblings (the main reason we're cruising over Thanksgiving next year). We usually have supper at my parents on Sunday nights and my sister and her family are there also. I think we'll have cake then. We'll have to have DH's mom over and have cake with her sometime too. Next Tuesday DD has a band concert, Wednesday (B-day) we have family night at church, Thursday is the cross country banquet for DS. We're also planning on celebrating on the cruise even though we'll be a month late.

Have you asked John's doctor about his sleeping patterns? Maybe he/she would be able to find something or make suggestions. I'm sorry that your suffering from such a lack of sleep. Try to think positively, even though that is so hard to do when you haven't slept regularly for so long. Maybe the cruise and the time that your DH has off from work, it will be the start of a new phase for John. Are you in-laws still going on the cruise? That will be a great help.

The Y-Princess group sounds like a good thing. Our Girl Scout unit always tries to do at least one father-daughter activity each year, and both really enjoy it. Our community also has a father-daughter dance every spring for girls K-5. The girls get all dolled up in their little spring dresses, go out to eat with their fathers, get crosages, the whole bit. I'm not sure that many dads dance at all (maybe the hokey pokey and the limbo) but the girls sure have a good time.

Susan, Hang in there  I'm sorry John is having such a hard time at night. Maybe being on the ship will lull him right to sleep. The rocking of the ship does that for me. :)

Stacie,I hope that Andy gets back to normal soon.

Tomorrow is Rachel's B'day. The kids both are in choir at school and their choir was chosen to sing at an event downtown tomorrow night. So, since we won't be able to do a special dinner for her she wants to go to IHOP for breakfast tomorrow. Then on Sunday my parents, Brad's parents and his sister and family will be coming over for cake and ice cream.

I just reserved my hotel room and car for the night before!!

We need to start planning our meets!!! I think we should do one mid afternoon on Saturday, maybe up on deck 10?

Saturday sounds good to me. Maybe around 2:00 since we will have lifeboat drill at 4:00 then the sail away deck party. We will be staying Friday night at a hotel near the airport but plan to get to the ship early.

.

Yeah, I was thinking between 2 and 3. That gives us time to get lunch first and still have time before the drill. On my last cruise I ended up running in to a couple of people in the terminal even and then some while we were eating lunch.

Good news (I think) ...

I just called the number that Susan mentioned in her earlier post to see if Enchanted will be showing on our cruise, and the CM said it was "likely" since the release date is 11/21. popcorn:: I see a sea day afternoon planned already.

I think a meet on deck 10 sounds great.

We would love to see Enchanted and the National Treasure movie.

Have a great weekend everyone. We're going to be busy, so won't be online much.

:bday: to Rachel tomorrow. party:

I reserved our electric car for Key West today. I got it for the afternoon for $99 including tax and insurance from Conch Electric Cars. Shirley had posted about them. They pick us up at the dock and bring us back when we're done.

Having a meet on Satuday sounds good, definately should try to have it before the life boat drill. I'm not sure what time we're going to get there. There is rumbling at my house about MGM opening early that morning for Extra Magic hours. That is the kids' favorite park. It's possible we'll try to squeeze that in before driving to the port.

I need to get a final count on the Stocking exchange. I think it is:
me
Cristit14
PinkPrincess
FeinFam
Queen2

Patty--Did you want to do the sock exchange?

I had kind of forgot that Rachel and Andy's birthday were so close together. Hope she has a great weekend celebrating!

Thanks for the b'day wishes. I think she is fighting a cold though. She has woken up the past two mornings with a sore throat and she is pretty stuffed up today. She thinks that it is just sinus draining, so hopefully she is right.

I haven't decided about the electric cars yet. I should probably just go ahead and rent one. On one thread though someone was talking about the parking issues and that maybe a moped would work better.

Well I'm done traveling till our cruise.

China was different didn't do much touring, was busy with DS's events. He earned 2 golds & one silver. Opening ceremonies were great, totally awesome. Closing Ceremnies were good, except the setting was awful. We had to sit on concrete steps & there was no room to stretch your legs. We did take a tour to an old water village. Mostly old people who don't want to move. Most of the people live in high rises in downtown Shanghai. We saw how the made silk, that was pretty neat.

Came home October 12 totally tired was in bed every night by 6:00pm & up by 4:00am. did take a nap every day. Left October 21 for the Med cruise. it was ok, not ready to take it again. Every thing is so far from the ports. On the 3rd came down with bronchitis, so that didn't help matters. It was an 11 night cruise. On the last day I had my wallet lifted. Thank-goodness I left my passport on the ship.

Last night was the first chance I was able to get on the boards. Andy looks cute in his pirate outfit. sorry to hear John Has his days & nights mixed up.
the rocking of the ship helps me sleep.

Remind me again about the stocking exchange, I sortta forgot about it. I can't imagine why LOL.

Well this is all for now. I'll have to read the boards every day to see whats happening.

Sharon

Stacie

Count us in on the stocking exchange but let me know the details, I must have missed the post. thanks. Got to get going I got pirate pants to sew today.

Patty

I just got Jacob a tux of of ebay!!! It was only $9.99 plus $5 shipping. Only been worn once. It looks pretty good. I hope I get it by next weekend in case I need to get it alter. That is a good possibility since it seems like he wears a smaller size pants than jacket.

Hey! Has anybody bought the Holiday decorations for their stateroom? A $85 tree might be questionable...

Are you guys going to buy?

Sharon - I'm glad to see you are back! Too bad you didn't get explore China more but I'm sure it was still awesome. Sorry about the troubles on your cruise.

I"m not sure if the girls and I are going to be decorating. I need to talk to them soon about all things cruise so that we can finalize plans.

Welcome Back Sharon!!!! Congratulations to your son on his medals!!! That is great!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
