I drive a 2007 Mercedes C230, that I got last November, although I've never made one payment on it. I won it at a Junior League benefit that my wife and I attended.

Woo hoo, that is the best way to go.

We also give a Mercedes away every year at our big J.L. holiday event.

Dh doesn't believe in car payments so we only buy cars when we don't have to finance.

We do the same. We drive Hondas/Nissans right now (Civics - older Accord). In fact I drive the Nissan Altima - not an expensive car it self - and I covet DW's Civic. Next time........ But, I need to put at least 100K more on the Nissan before I can buy another car.

I received my BA degree in March and bought myself a graduation gift - a 2007 Mustang GT (V8) convertable with special red leather seats. I love my car. We pay $575.00 per month

I can't do it. I just can't wrap my brain around a giant car payment. But, that said. I just bought a 2001 Mustang convertable. It's my dream car, only had 30.000 miles on it when I got it and was in pristine condition. Luxury cars are generally very well maintained by their owners. They are either kept forever or traded in early and often. If you are willing to buy used you could save substantial money and still get what you want. You might lose less sleep over the payments. The mustang ran me 10,000. and it's the first time I took on car payments in many years. I put half down. We used to save and save and buy whatever car we could for cash and only maintain liability insurance. Now dh is eying up the new toyota suv which I'm betting is big $$$$

My family comes from a long line of J.L. women. My wife isn't involved, but my sister and cousins are. We purchased our tickets from an interior designer friend of my wife's who's a member. Nice thing is, the cash goes to a good cause!

In the good weather I drive a Corvette Roadster. We paid cash for it so no payment there. In the not so good weather I drive a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. We bought it used in 2001 (9,000 miles on it). Sticker price if new was $32,000.00 and we paid $20,000. DH drives a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica that we bought used in 2005 (8,000 miles on it). Again we paid about $10,000.00 less than sticker if it had been new. This is the only car with a payment. Its $400 for four years.

Based on the $25k criteria, we do. I have a 2006 Nissan Murano that the sticker was $38k and I paid just over $34k. After my trade in which was paid for (2004 Toyota Tacoma) I pay $375 per month. Wife has a 2004 Toyota Avalon which sticker was $28k and we paid $25k. It is now paid for.

Well, considering I had negative equity when I traded in my SUV for a sedan....yes, it turned into an expensive car. It only retailed for about $17k though. I'm paying it off before I buy a new one...don't want to end up in the same boat as last time.

I also have an '06 Murano and pay $375 a month. My DH has an Accord that is paid off but he really needs a new car. It will kill me to have to have another car payment when we just paid one off!

I guess we have an expensive car. We bought a Ford 500 last year and traded in a Chevy Trailblazer. The 500 is fully loaded (we didn't want it that way, it was what was available) and is fabulous. We paid about $30,000 for it so our carpayment is $600/mo. However, we will pay it off and then buy my next car. I am currently driving a 7.5 year old Taurus - it's a workhorse!

I drive a 2006 Cadilac CTS with bose and nav. I love it. Delivered with tax, etc it was in the mid 30's. I chose it over the BMW and the Audi convertible because of Zero percent financing. That worth worth hundreds of $$$. Payments with no interest charges for 5 years are $680.

I've looked at the Murano, too. It has the same shape as the Infiniti FX 35. Do you like it?

With the $25K critiria...I guess I do. I have a 2007 Eclipse. If you include the fog lights and the alarm I installed right after purchase, the retail price was just over $25K. I got a great deal on it so I didn't pay that much. My payments are excellent...$245/month!

Yep. A big 'ole honking 4WD SUV. Sticker was around 43 if I remember right. Other than a reasonable mortgage and regular utilites, we have no debt. If we had CC bills/other vehicle payments, would have bought something else.

I don't know payments, that would be the husband dept.

Don't lecture me about green, I bought credits.

We HAD a 2000SEL Taurus until Sat. afternoon at 5:00pm. At that time while stopped at a RED LIGHT we got rear-ended. Other vehicle was IN OUR TRUNK when we came to another stop 200 feet later. My wife's baby had 127,000 miles, the build order was put in for us and got it with only a few miles, still looked almost new and drove like new.

We are now looking for a replacement and I am not too happy.

If you can afford to treat yourself, go for it.

I've looked at the Murano, too. It has the same shape as the Infiniti FX 35. Do you like it?

I absolutely LOVE it. It has more room in the backseat than the Infinity. Also, I think the Infinity is 8 cylinders and will eat up more gas. Mine does OK on gas getting 24 mpg on the highway.

I know I'll have this car for a long time. I love it that much.

YES! I drive a 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS500 and we paid cash for it! My DH is a car nut and a car collector. He buys and sells collector cars as a productive hobby. We also have a 1999 BMW 540i at our condo in FL that he also paid cash for that way back in 1999. That car is like the timex watch that just keeps ticking. Sometimes I wonder if my grandchildren will visit our condo after we're gone and still be driving that thing
