Rysar and I stayed for a week 10/30 through 11/6. To say we were let down by the CR doesn't really quite explain it.
Disney "neglected" to mention the level of disarray that the hotel lobby and atrium were in because of the ongoing renovations. In fact, they didn't mention them *AT ALL*. Granted, we knew about them because of board posts, but we had no idea quite the degree of chaos that we were to encounter.
What frustrates me is that Disney is trying to make the CR equivalent to a W or other upscale hotels, but isn't following through. We were in one of the rooms that had been renovated on the 10th floor (4628, to be precise), but they obviously are not keeping up the rooms. The bed linens, blankets and pillows were worn and the sofa had stains on it. As has been pointed out by others, the sinks in the bathrooms don't drain properly. The shower head was encrusted with mineral deposits to the point where water barely flowed through it. The ultimate has to be the noise that comes from Chef Mickeys, which the desk of course neglected to mention to us as well. All in all, not a great experience except for the pictures of Cinderella Castle with the new xmas lights we were able to get.
For the prices they're charging, this place should be immaculate and everything in perfect repair. This was our first experience staying on property, and may be our last. Previously we have always stayed at the DD Hilton or the DD Doubletree... in my opinion both of those properties are head and shoulders above the CR. I've stayed in much lower end non-Disney properties that were better taken care of and had better amenities. For a hotel that has recently has a significant refurbishment, to say this was disappointing doesn't even begin to cover it.
