CR Resort Fan 4 Life--Are you the one who posted pictures with this room #? Is this really the suite? If anybody would know for sure, it would be you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I think it was someone else. The only thing with pictures I have posted is my families Magic Kingdom view from August 2006, with the room # we were staying in at the time.

Please, someone help reassure and advise me too!
We are staying at the CR for the very first time next week in a Tower room, MK view. We are there for 5 nights before we move to the Poly.
I haven't requested anything specific on my ressie. I'm hoping for a terrific view, its one of the reasons we chose this resort! How can I make this request..OR do I even have to? Are there any bad views with the room category we booked? If I should make a request to make the most of our stay..what should we ask for? I'd love any help.
Also,
I'd love some reassurance about the resort itself. I'm a Poly girl, but we thought we'd give the CR a whirl. My DH who has been diagnosed with both a brain tumor/then a brain aneurysm this year thought the new rooms looked terrific. So CR here we come!
Please help!
Also, will the construction be a real problem while we are poolside?

Thanks so much for the hotel map. I was wondering what the "CN" stood for in the room. I'll have to keep looking and find out.

My family and I have had stayed in a Magic Kingdom view as low as the 14th floor and as high as the 14th floor, and we think no matter the floor your on the view will be amazing. So with that being said we think there are no bad Magic Kingdom views in the Tower.

As for the Resort itself it's one of the best places to stay at in WDW and it's one of the original WDW Resorts besides the Polynesian, so it's a part of WDW history.

As for the construction it should have no effect while your at the pool and no one has mentioned anything about the pool being renovated, so you should be ok.

I FOUND the pictures of room #4916. I remembered that it was the same day that I booked our trip. If anyone wants to take a look, it's on page 141 on this thread. The post is #2102.

Todays our last day at the place, we're NEVER coming back here again.

We're on the 10th floor in 4628.... right over Chef Mickey's, and they're building that new Gift Shop.... 7:30 in the morning you can hear whatever song they're playing that people clap along to.... and it repeats, every like 10 minutes. Was impossible to sleep much later than 8am every day. If you could, the squealing belt in the heater would wake you up when it kicks on.

The view is great, dont get me wrong, but the noise is just too much... and in the coming months, they're shutting down the Concourse Steakhouse and building ANOTHER table service place, so the noise will continue.

I am sorry you are not enjoying the Tower room. I agree that it must be frustrating hearing the construction noise for the new shop. As for the music from Chef Mickey's, that song is only played every 30 minutes. Still maybe you should consider staying in the South Garden Wing next time, because this way you don't need to hear any of the noise from the Tower.

We were also on the 10th floor above Chef Mickey's (although Bay View side). Never had a problem with the noise from there. We were pleasantly surprised by how little noise came in our room. On the other hand, the construction noise was at times unbearable when trying to walk around the hotel.

We are regulars for CR and the Tower. Typcially in the rooms, we do not hear anything unless you walkd to the door and stood next to the entry way.

Once you step out into hallways, that "atrium noise" instantly immerses you: Chef mickeys singing, plates/silverware banging, monorails rushing through, people conversaion, - general hustle/bustle. For us it is all exhilirating and part of the atrium "ambiance" that makes us love the CR - if that makes any sense. It is definately different from say the darker quiter hallways of AKL or other resorts.

Oh yes, from inside the rooms, we hear things outside the building as well: the bells whistle from trains from MK railway, horn toots of the ferries, boats, fireworks going off. Not enough to keep you from sleeping in your room but part of the ambiance and then - step outside - enjoy the scenery and immerse yourself in it all.....

Well, I'm glad we booked a garden wing room. We like to sleep in on some days. I was wondering when the new gift shop will be opening? I'm coming Dec. 9th and leaving the 15th.

I was told by a Cast Member at the Sundries store, if everything goes ok with no major problems it should open the 1st week of December.

There's some updated pics of the construction at the CR at Mousesteps. It looks like the shop is almost done! The poster reports that the store is scheduled to open the day after Thanksgiving. I'm checking in on 12/2 and have been quite concerned about the construction. Looks like it will be done just before I arrive. Hi! Subscribing to this thread! We are coming in Dec 15 and staying in the Tower with an MK view. I can't wait!!!! :cloud9: I is my first time staying at CR in 20 years! My family's first time EVER!

Thanks for the link and if it's true that the shop will be open the day after Thanksgiving, well that's very good news.

Hi!

That is my site, I was trying to figure out where on the DIS I was getting so many visitors from. :)

I'll be back there again probably next week to take photos, and will make sure on the opening date. You can tell it's close to ready by the photos, I would be surprised if it wasn't open by the end of the month (but the day after T-giving was what I was told). Occasionally it's been loud with construction, yesterday there wasn't any appreciable noise from the store that I noticed. And the outside construction is going fast! :) Lobby won't be open as soon as they expected, but it's getting there. And the Grand Floridian gingerbread house is on its way up too!

Hi Denise,

what a great site! We will be there in mid Dec, do you think a lot of this construction will be done? I'm more excited about the room than anything, so I'm not concerned, but it would be nice to know.:)

Thanks!
