Disney Wonder Nov 27, 2011

I feel sad today for the Guests of the Disney Wonder Im guessing that their Sail Away Party has for sure been moved indoors, it looks like a hurricane out here. I cant see the Matterhorn from my Desk anymore

Wow. If you can't see the matterhorn from the hotel it has to be bad. I feel bad for them, but good for us. The storm will be gone by next week. It is overcast in AZ. Storm is headed this way.

It's hard to believe it is only a week away. :worship:

Steve, I'm so excited to see you again. My parents are looking forward to meeting you.

I've done a lot of packing this weekend. FE gifts are done. Now to just get through the week.

Sub plans, My Dad's birthday, Thanksgiving, a baby shower, and a theatre performance. :scared1:

Maybe it will make the week zip by.

Hello all,

Busy but exciting week. Packing almost done and now to start Thanksgiving prep. Here are our familiy names:

Amy (DW) Regie (DH) Madison (DD6) Austin (DS4) Cabin 6036

Hello everyone..I just got off the ship..You are all in for a treat! It was awesome and the staff is amazing!!!!! If you have any questions please feel free to ask...

Hi nat1914,

I am so glad you checked in with our group. I do have questions! How were the temps on the "at sea" days? Is it cold out there on the ocean, or will the kids still have warm enough weather to enjoy themselves on deck and at the Mickey pool...

Also, did you need a beach blanket, or were beach towels enough. I am debating if we should pack our beach blanket or not. We are so spoiled at the beach here (LA) because we can throw our chairs, blankets, coolers, and umbrellas in the car and go. On vacation, I always wonder what to bring. Glad to hear we could get an umbrella though!

Thanks!

Colleen (c4sailor)

Hard to stay focused on work. Short week for thanksgiving. All I can think of is the cruise.

Thanks for adding a bunch of names to the deck list I posted! Making my packing lists this weekend and buying last minute things I realized I don't have. Finished making FE gifts yesterday! Can't wait to deliver them!

Anyone else out there want to add some names?

Also, does anyone know Crazy4DCL and what their stateroom number is?

Thanks!
Katrina

Hi there,

Family names for Nuckles are Dan (DH), Jennifer (DW), Devin (6), and Camryn (6).

Thanks!

When we left California it was pretty chilly...but it didnt keep my kids from swimming lol...I just had hot cocoa ready when they got out.;)The first full sea day (monday) was nice... about 70 degrees. On way back the decks were pretty empty but we were coming into a pretty nasty storm. In mexico the sea days were beautiful! We spent most those lounging by the goofy pool ourselves!

My mom did bring a beach blanket but the kids and i just used the towels (btw the ship provides them) honestly the water was so clear and warm we spent most of the day floating. :cloud9:Just be prepared to say "no gracias" about a million times the vendors are very prevalent!! Just a heads up.

You reminded me of what it was like when I was a kid - no matter how cold it was, we still had fun swimming. I grew up in Minnesota, so the water there was always cold. :scared: I am sure the kids will have a great time and want to swim the minute we get on board.

I can't wait to go to the beach too! Glad to hear the water is clear, that is what I told my 5 year old and now he is anxious to see what is in the water. He asked if he would see any fish, but I told him we would not be going out that far, so he probably will not see any fish.

:beach:

Thanks!

It's an incredible place. :goodvibes. I went in Oct. I saved so much money. I also spent so much money:rotfl:

Steve: any chance to get shoes?

I need some pixie dust :worship:

I think my DS might have overheard a conversation and now knows about the surprise cruise. My mother was on the phone and didn't know Anthony was at her house. She was talking about the cruise.:scared1:
There is a chance he didn't hear anything, but. . . . He could have heard the entire conversation.
I hope he didn't. :worship:

I tried to get him to tell me. He usually can't keep a secret.
He didn't hint to knowing anything. :confused3

Hopefully he doesn't know. Please, :worship: send pixie dust.

Did I read somewhere that this will be their first cruise? Your kids are gonna flip out when they learn of your big surprise. I doubt he knows, how could he contain the excitement? My kids would tell me right away and then want to ask about a million questions. I wanted to surprise them with something though and kept the swimming with dolphins thing under wraps for awhile. They eventually found out (long story) and now they are just so excited about the whole thing - it will be hard to get through Thanksgiving dinner without talking endlessly about it too....I know it will be all that my kids will want to talk about for the next FIVE and a HALF days. OMG, we are almost there!! party:

No, not our 1st cruise. We were on the Wonder in March. They would never expect another one so soon, and with the grandparents. I hope he doesn't know. We planned on recording the drive to the pier to get their expressions when they see where we are.

Does anyone know if the pools are heated ? I'm sure the cold won't stop the kids from swimming either way.

Also, does anyone have an idea what my chances are of doing some laundry while on board? I heard there are like 17 washer/dryers for the entire ship. I don't mind doing it at 3:30 AM either.

When we leave sunday, it'll be our 5th day away from home and I'm trying not to pack the entire dresser for the trip.

Soooo hard to focus on work, only 1 more day for me and I'm free!!!!!

Denise, no shoes recently but im guessing they could pop up anytime i have been keeping my eye open

I did laundry in march. I put the clothes in the washer at 7 am, there were two open. I believe each floor has a laundry room. The washers and dryers use your room key for payment. No need for coins. I brought my own detergent.

I am going to bring my own detergent too. I was able to get some travel size ones, so I am bringing 4 (am I really planning on doing 4 loads of laundry??). I also put some dryer sheets in a ziplock. Glad to hear they take room key and not quarters, I was wondering about that. Also, if you don't have detergent, I think I read that it was only like $1 to get detergent there. Also, the deck map shows that we have laundry on our floor, deck 6. Not sure if they are on every level or not....

Also, the pools are heated to about 80 degrees. I guess we will let them swim when we get on board - if there is time, what a busy first day we will have! Ahhh, but I can't wait. Only 5 short days!! YAHOOOOOOOO! :yay:

This is wonderful, would it be greedy to want to go both BEFORE and AFTER :rotfl2:

Seriously, thank you Steve, I'm glad my daughter is bringing an extra empty suitcase, she's going to need it. Maybe the kids will let her back in the house if she returns with gifts from her and Nana. ;) Her kids are 14 and 16 and they've been doing Disney World since they were babies (because Mommy loves it so ;) ) but they have never been to Disneyland. She hasn't been in 25 plus years, the last time she was only 13, (no I didn't disclose your actual age now Georgette)

So looks like we will be shopping for sure, only decision is, will it be before or after the cruise?? I wish all of my decisions could turn out so rewarding.:yay:
