DISappearing PEEPS Volume 2

Hi Peeps. Just quick checking in. I'm almost back to 100% and even did a mile on the treadmill yesterday. Hopefully I'll get in about a half hour on the treaddie tomorrow. I did a quick peek at the scale this morning and I'm only up .5 lbs from last week. I'm still expecting to gain a bit back since I've actually eaten food this week, but if I can keep it under a 1lb gain that would be amazing.

I'm also a tattooed peep. I got my first one with my mom the summer before I started law school. It's a winnie the pooh on my inside right ankle. A couple years later a I got an outline of a little kitty on my shoulderblade when DH went in to get his second tattoo. Since I turn 30 this year I might go and get stitch on my other ankle.

Pjilla, I have failed you. I am on my 13th hour of work today and have a 1.5 hour drive home from where I am. No gym for me today, or yesterday (same kind of deal). :guilty:

Kat - Keep the faith! Everybody has a "can't-do" day!

Dawn - I LOVE your new 'do! I might copy it...but I don't have the courage, yet!

Majic - Okay, you've inspired me to try Callanetics again. I'm a wee bit worried, because I have some fluff covering up the non-existent muscles. But - increasing that muscle strength will help the fluff disappear. (I remember when doing the video before that by the next day or so, I was nearly unable to get out of bed. I'll prepare for that level of soreness!)

Friday will be my "starting weight" weigh-in day. Let's just hope it isn't horrifying. I was down to 177 by the time I got back from WDW in early Feb., but I think I'm back up to around 182. TOO HIGH!

Good luck with your goals, Peeps!

Thanks Beth! I am hoping your numbers are better than you think.

Dawn, love the haircut. Finally got a chance to go back and look at it.

I got home from work about 11:30 (after getting in at 9AM). Just glad this day was over. I wasn't completely peep-like but did as well as I could.

Okay...so I have a few more than I said earlier...just treading the water...
Please ignore the pidipple....In my former life I was a man...

No wonder they call you "Dizney" Dawn!
I'm thinking of letting my DD and DS see what they want, and me seeing what I want. The Ruins starts Friday and that was a pretty good book, but I don't know, maybe I'll watch Horton Hears A Who with them. What I can't wait for is NARNIA! Prince Caspian comes out in May. That is a must see for me.

Hope everyone has a great night!
I'm looking forward to Prince Caspian too. I had read some of the Narnia books years ago, but I went back and read them all 2 years ago, when I was reading TLTWATW to my third graders. I got the funniest comment from one of the kids when I was reading about the white witch. I said to the kids, "She's very pretty, but mean!" and Hector says, "Just like you, Mrs. Dwheatl!" Did I get mad? No! I said, "Aw, you think I'm pretty.":cutie:

I'm trying hard on the food and exercise this week. AF showed up after 4 months of no show, and I'm really hurtin'. I went to the gym tonight and just cut back 5 minutes because my back was killing me. I just had to go to the gym though, because I really want to see the scale moving in the right direction, and I still have that Pizza Hut to work off.

DizneyDawn-

Are those tatoos for real?

My son got a tatoo on the back of his leg. Nothing meaningful- it is a copy from a CD cover- a granade with headphones- I dont care for tatoos much- I like some of the smaller ones that are placed discretely and I understand it if it has some kind of personal meaning- but the one my son has - to me - just says I'm stupid. I always think about what that tatoo is going to look like when you are 80 and what kind of meaning will it have then. Just a personal preference.

I guess I'm showing how OLD i am. I dont care for facial piercing either- I cant see the beauty in it and for me they are a distraction when I am trying to talk to someone. I do like the navel piercing. My DD has her's done- DH took her- I'm not cool enough- I did call the place and check out their sterilization procedure and look them up under the public health department inspection list. If my tummy looked like hers I'd probably have a belly ring too.

Hope I didnt offend any of my tatooed or pierced peeps- to each his own- and I love you just the same-

Hi all! Remember me?

The kids crashed (as in crash and burn) my computer while I was on vacation in Feb and now I have to try to share DH's laptop. It's not always easy getting it all to my self long enough to read and post. I'm sort of caught up for this last week or so.

I fell of the wagon.......HARD...... and haven't been able to get back on again. I keep trying to psych myself up to do it then sabatoge all my efforts with some poor food choice. I have regained all the weight I lost this year. It's spring and I'm no where near where I wanted to be by this time. Not only that but we leave for the home planet in less than 7 weeks and I know If I work really super hard, I can make a dent in my weight but that I'll probably gain it all back while we're gone, even with my scaled back dining plans. (Another family is going with us so we are doing a few grand gathering meals as well as CRT and CG.) Since nearly half od our dinners are 2 credits, I had to find ways to cut back on other meals so we are doing a lot of large, sharable, CS meals filled out with salads and things that count as snacks.

Anyway, I thought I'd try to check in and see if I could get more motivation to get back on program.

Welcome back!

I know you wrote you will gain everything you will lose when you go back to WDW! I do not think this is true. You probably will be walking more and this will help you burn some extra calories. I know my game plan when I go to WDW in 6 weeks is to split some of the entrees which I know are bigger with my mom. As we all know portion sizes at restaurants are HUGE! Since you are going to be doing alot of family style eating...i would make myself a plate and try not to go back for seconds. but if you do do not beat yourself up over it you are on vacation afterall just enjoy yourself

I know speaking for myself I hate to feel full and then have to walk around the parks. So I am going to try to keep that in mind while i am eating

Some of you are going to think this tip is crazy but I do this all the time and it works. You know when you are at a restaurant you are done eating, you are full but you still have food on your plate so you keep picking at it because it is just staring at you in the face and the waitor or waitress has yet to come to take it away.

please do not laugh but what I do is I make what is sitting in front of me completely unedibile. For example I will put some water in the dish or throw some diet soda on it. This way the next time I want to go have that extra french fry I can't because I already dumped water on it....crazy yes! but it works!

I'm looking foward to Prince Caspian too. I have a hardback with all the Narnia books, but I've only ever read the first two, Magician's Nepthew and the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I need something to read now since I just finished a book this morning, maybe I'll get back into reading that.

This movie is on my must see list. I have read all of the Narnia books. The Magician's Nephew was written way later and was made to fit in. It is the worst of all the books.

Dawn, thankz for the stats. I want in. Let me know if and what changes you make. I is nice to have support here. :thumbsup2

Hi Guys....thank you for appreciating the work....Can everyone just PM me if they are in for the April Challenge? The Magnets for last month will be sent out next week....I need to configure who is sending who magnets! :surfweb:
Okay...so I have a few more than I said earlier...just treading the water...
Please ignore the pidipple....In my former life I was a man...
disney_tattoo_guy.jpg
Guys....Does this look like a woman??? If so maybe I am better lookin then I thought! :cool1: :3dglasses

Read my TR and you will see I tend to be silly...not serious....so no...I was never a man....carried 3 children...screamed through labor...and disslike my hair most days...all woman!

Sparkie PM'd me in the middle of the night after reading it...so it can't be thaaaat bad....and you will learn a little more about my humour...
or lack thereof.

No wonder they call you "Dizney" Dawn!
They do...but this was an image from the internet...there are tons of people with Disney tatood all over their body! :smickey: :tink: :dumbo: :donald: :stitch: :eeyore: :goofy:

2 fof my real own for now was painful enough!
:scared1:

DizneyDawn-

Are those tatoos for real?
Yes...but not on me...I only have the 2 mentioned before and I will post pics later...someone requested a pic of my cross tatoo..

I always think about what that tatoo is going to look like when you are 80 and what kind of meaning will it have then. Just a personal preference.
Agree...that is why I got my skinny heel done and my lower back..and it is for my grandparents and my faith and my kids...

I do like the navel piercing. Me too...but right now I would need a whale hook...My DD has her's done- How old was she when it was done??DH took her- I'm not cool enough- I did call the place and check out their sterilization procedure and look them up under the public health department inspection list. If my tummy looked like hers I'd probably have a belly ring too.Ditto....again...Pillsburry Dough boy with a navel ring..not sexy...

Hope I didnt offend any of my tatooed or pierced peeps- to each his own- and I love you just the same-

This is the place to talk..and be real...so I love your opinion...

Okay...again..guys...I tend to be silly...I have enough serious in my life...so sorry for confusing you all..;)
:worship:

Thanks for the support and welcome back. I know the walking and all will help so I'm encouraged by that. I have 3 teenagers so leftovers shouldn't be a problem at all. I am one of those people who grew up with next to nothing and wasting food was NEVER allowed. (Don't ask what my mother did to enforce this policy, I still gag when I think about some of it.) It is so ingrained in me that I have a very hard time leaving anything on a plate. I feel better when I give stuff to the kids but it makes dieting a big disaster, esp if we are trying to dine out.

So far today: I went out to Starbucks with DH. We shared an egg muffin sandwich and coffee cake and I had a skinny latte. I have no idea about calorie count or points..........

I'm really trying hard to convince DH that we can do another WDW trip this yr. It may just be the 2 of us for a long weekend but any day at Disney is a great day; right?

I'd better sign up for the challenges, I know they help me stay motivated.
Aaron~ Put me down for 5lbs for Cinco de Mayo

Dawn~ Count me in too. (I don't know if I have to state a goal or my current weight or what so please fill me in!)

The Magician's Nephew was written way later and was made to fit in. It is the worst of all the books.
Even though it was published later, it is, chronologically the first book. It's like the Star Wars movies, even though the Phantom Menace was not the first one made, it is the first one. I bought the Narnia book that I have because it was in the right order. I didn't think it was bad, though I did like the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe better.

MouseHouseLover- I actually lost weight at WDW, even though we were on the Dining Plan. Part of it was the walking; a lot of it was because every time we ate, I had to help attend to the needs of our 1 and 3 year old kiddies, so I didn't get to have 4 returns to the buffet I would have otherwise taken. :) Pass your plate once you've had enough and let others be your garbage disposal! Have a great time and don't get discouraged.

Aaron - I think I can safely commit to a 5 lb loss by Cinco de Mayo. Cinco pounds, Cinco de Mayo - there's got to be some kind of cosmic connection there.

Spring is finally (sort of) coming to Michigan, and the sun is shining at least. Last night I walked for over an hour, part of it with my sister-in-law, part of it listening to the podcast. This is in addition to the bike ride my hubby and I took with the kids, but I don't count that b/c Miss 3-Almost-4-Year-Old doesn't ride very fast, so it's not much exercise. Still, we were outside without snow pants and rejoicing because of it.

I'm a wee bit down in the dumps today, and what do I think will fix it? Fast food, chocolate, leftover Easter candy, ANYTHING bad for me. It's never helped before, and it won't help now! (Repeat 25 times).

Have a beautiful April 3!

Dawn/aka Punkin, I love your hair!! I have been seriously thinking about going short for the summer. I have not had short hair since elementary school. If you do not mind, may I use your pic as an example of the cut I want?

Hey everyone. Mid-week check in....not so pretty. This has been a rough week back on the wagon. I just cant get over the 'eating like I am still pregnant' mentality. It is killing me. At this rate I am going to gain this week instead of losing.

On the plus side, I had my 6 week check up today and got the go ahead to start exercising again so that is good. Now I have no excuse though :rotfl: I also got the go ahead to call my surgeon to re-schedule the reduction of 'the twins' that I had planned for last year too

A friend of mine is trying to start a photography business here and she is doing some free sessions for some of us, so I got some baby pics taken! I wasnt planning to be in any of them, so please ignore the frizzy haired no makeup person in the last few ;)
go here to check them out:
http://adorablephotography.com/Slideshow/033008/

First, I LOVE< LOVE LOVE the baby pictures. :goodvibes There isn't a bad one in the bunch. I think the one of you kissing him is so sweet. I am really wanting to have a 3rd...I know, I am nuts! I am trying to chalk these feelings up to getting older but I would love to add to our family.

Secondly, don't be so hard on yourself!! Once you start exercising again I am sure you will find your groove. Having another baby is such a life changing event and it takes some to adjust. The sleep deprivation alone is enough to make you eat mindlessly. At least it was for me.

I am glad you are finally feeling better. I am sure it is going to take some time to get your stamina back after being sick so long. I bet it felt great getting back on the TM.

...I got the funniest comment from one of the kids when I was reading about the white witch.

:lmao: I love that! Kids crack me up!

UGGHH, I bet you were hurting....:scared: You are a better woman than I am. I just can't make it to the gym when I have a bad month. I know, I am a total wuss. Thankfully, since I had my first son I have only had one really horrible go.

Hi all! Remember me?

WELCOME BACK!! Sorry about your comuter. I can not share a computer of any kind with my DH. He thinks h e knows IT when is actuality he just screws it up and makes it impossible for anyone else to use. Maybe he does it on purpose :confused3

I really think that if you are careful you can avoid gaining at WDW. With all of the walking you are going to be doing, as long as you are sensible about your choices I bet you coould even come home having lost a bit. Good luck to you! I am not at all jealous that you are going to WDW in 7 weeks, nope not at all...

Some of you are going to think this tip is crazy but I do this all the time and it works. You know when you are at a restaurant you are done eating, you are full but you still have food on your plate so you keep picking at it because it is just staring at you in the face and the waitor or waitress has yet to come to take it away.

This is a great tip and not crazy at all! Fries are my weakness, really anything derived from a potato or chocolate I can't resist. I am going to try this the next time I have fries taunting me from my plate. Thanks :thumbsup2

This weekend is going to be a challenge for me. There will be 32 people at my house on Saturday to celebrate the baby's 2nd birthday. There will lots of temptations to avoid but my plan is to eat a big salad before everyone arrives and have fruit salad instead of cake. I know the kidlets will talk me into hanging with them in the moonbounce so at least that is some exercise. In prepartion for the hoardes that we expect, I am taking the day off tomorrow to clean, cook and mulch my gardens (and from the looks of it I will be mulching in the rain...:sad2: Send the sun my way on Saturday otherwise I may lose my mind if everyone is stuck inside for the party.

I doubt if I will make it back here until Sunday or Monday so have a great weekend Peeps!!

yes, i'm irrationally scared of birds! i was attacked by a blue jay when i was 9 and ever since then they freak me out. the birds at MK are EVIL!!!

i'm going but i will be there september 3rd - 8th.

welp, i have a new 'do! i like it although the back isn't quite laying down the way i want it. it will though. my stylist said my hair is just in shock! i'll post pics soon.

ETA: go here for haircut pics: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=24196568&postcount=644

I LOVE the hair dawn!!! if i wasn't such a frizzball most of the time i would totally love to have that sassy doo! Looks Great!
As for the birds, I totally agree with you...i was attacked by a mockinbird when i was little.i think i mentioned it before...and i still cringe when any bird swoops a bit too close! :scared1:

Hi Everyone!
It is Thursday! yay!! i am doing well with the exercise this week..tonight will be the 3rd curves work out and i did a bit on my own on Tues as well..Eating, i've been pretty good..there is still too much chocolate at my disposal though..so i need to keep that in check a bit more!

have a great day !

Pjilla, I have failed you. I am on my 13th hour of work today and have a 1.5 hour drive home from where I am. No gym for me today, or yesterday (same kind of deal). :guilty:

Don't be sad! No guilt from me! At least you had a decent excuse. I've had days where I have SAT at the YMCA for TWO HOURS waiting for DD's swim team practice and I STILL haven't gotten my fat behind down to the gym for even a few minutes. Total lack of motivation and laziness were my only excuses.

Today is a new day! Aim for 15 minutes of walking/running by parking further from the building and taking the stairs when possible and take it from there! I've done 35 min on the treadmill today, but am "planning" on doing a 5 minute stair sprint later.

I've been challenging my kids to see who can do the most circuits (one up and one down is circuit) on the house stairs (13 steps) in five minutes. I was DYING at the end and had only done 20 and that was a struggle. DS did 29 in the 5 minutes, and DD couldn't let her brother beat her and managed to do 30 in 5 minutes. I was impressed, plus it got the kids a bit more exercise without them even realizing it! This was Monday. We did it again Tuesday and I managed to do 21 1/2 circuits!

Kat.... keep smiling and have a GREAT day! Think of me as your cheerleader, not your coach. I'm only here to say good things and to cheer you on.

:cheer2: GO Kat!! GO Kat!! :cheer2: You are a lean, mean, Dis-ing machine! :cheer2:

.......................Love from Pamela

Dawn - I LOVE your new 'do! I might copy it...but I don't have the courage, yet!

copy away!! and it's just hair - it'll grow back if you don't like it. that's how i look at it: it's not like it's a nose job or something!

What I can't wait for is NARNIA! Prince Caspian comes out in May. That is a must see for me.

i'm excited about this, too!!! i just love the narnia books....have since i was a kid. i'm actually re-reading caspian right now. oh, and i think the kid who plays peter is totally gonna be hot when he gets older.

I guess I'm showing how OLD i am. I dont care for facial piercing either- I cant see the beauty in it and for me they are a distraction when I am trying to talk to someone.

my DH used to have a labre (sp?). that's the piercing under your lip, between your lower lip and your chin. the reason he got rid of it was because he said he hated it when people would be talking to him and look at that instead of his eyes. he also had his tongue done and both his ears. he's gotten rid of everythng except the ears. this was back in like '98 before we were married and had "real" jobs! it's funny because i'm the female and i don't have ANY piercings, not even my ears! :rotfl:

Hi all! Remember me?

I fell of the wagon.......HARD...... and haven't been able to get back on again.

grab on!!!! we're here for you! and it's good to "see" you. we're missing a lot of peeps lately.

Dawn/aka Punkin, I love your hair!! I have been seriously thinking about going short for the summer. I have not had short hair since elementary school. If you do not mind, may I use your pic as an example of the cut I want?

of course! i don't mind at all. i'm flattered that you like it that much, although i had nothing to do with the actual cut except for sitting there while my stylist did it!
