Best park from Coronado on marathon day?

I am a cast member and have family coming to visit next weekend. Booked Grand Destino and totally spaced on the marathon happening while we’re staying there. On Sunday we have to get to Epcot by 1:30 for our behind the seeds tour, but I’ve heard it’s a nightmare trying to drive anywhere near epcot before the race is over. Would it make more sense to bus to Hollywood Studios, do a ride or two and then walk to Epcot? We’re not pressed to get everything done but I also don’t want to wait around at the hotel until the race ends. Wondering if anyone has stayed at Coronado on a race weekend and can vouch for which park is the most painless to get to while the race is still going. Thank you!

I've done exactly that...albeit a few years ago. I didn't have any trouble with buses getting to EPCOT, and I do rope drop. Now, I don't know what this year will be like, but I didn't have any trouble. That being said, if you're concerned, yes...you could bus to HS and walk to EPCOT (my favorite walk on property), or you could bus to MK and take the Monorail to EP. Several options. I hope you have a great day, no matter your mode of transportation.

Walking to Epcot from HS on Marathon day is pretty difficult, because the marathon uses that path along the canal.

Best bet to get from Coronado to Epcot is either bus to MK and monorail, or do a resort-to-resort transfer at Disney Springs to one of the Skyliner resorts.

The last marathon runners should be finishing about 12:30pm.

You should try to avoid entering Epcot via International Gateway. As a PP mentioned, the marathon runners will be entering Epcot at IG. You should use transportation that will drop you off at the front of Epcot instead. The Epcot bus from Coronado would be my first choice, just allowing extra travel time. If I didn’t want to take a bus I would probably use a Minnie Van. They have access to roads that other ride shares don’t and they will drop you at the front of the park. The monorail from MK may be busy with spectators coming down from MK to the finish line to meet up with the runners.
