Bring back the good o' days, Things ..........

I loved re-runs of Ozzie and Harriet when I was little. It was on the Disney channel and I thought Ricky was just sooooo cute. When I got older and found out my mom and dad had seen him in concert not long before he died I was so jealous. LOL I wasn't even born!
I remember staying up every night for a week when the Disney Channel was supposed to be turned on in our area. I think I was on day 5 and at about 3am it was on. I was so excited I woke the whole house up and we watched it all day. But speaking of shows I just loved the old time Nickelodeon. I could watch 'You Can't Do That On Television' all day.

That is it!!! Oh how I use to wish that she would look in the mirror and say my name! lol :lmao:

Just for you.

Romper, bomper, stomper boo
Tell me, tell me, tell me who
Tell me magic mirror today
Did all of my friends have fun at play?
I see John and Sue and Patsy. And there's my friend Karen!

Okay...so I'm no Miss Peggy! If it makes you feel any better she never said my name either. Oh, and the bee was Doo-Bee. I dressed up as Doo-Bee one year for Halloween.

Romper stompers! Oh those were fun. Mine were yellow and the cords were green with sparkles. :cool1:

I think the therapyshoppe.com sells them now- they can be used for kids in OT/PT

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not but do you remember Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Greenjeans? There was Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose also. I think Tom Terrific was on that show too. I remember he wore a funnel upside down on his head for a hat.
Captain Kangaroo always made crafts out of construction paper and toilet paper rolls. Mine never turned out like his. And Bunny Rabbit would steal all the carrots. They would not allow that on children's programming today. Teaching our kids to steal. That is why everybody from my generation are thieves. Blame it on the Bunny Rabbit.

Freddy Frog, Henrietta Hippo and I forget the owl. One of the "hosts" name was Doug - same as my brother!!!

I LOVED my Romper Stompers!!! I thought I remembered my "strings" as being red??? :confused3 Foggy memory or maybe they made different colors!

My 12th grade homeroom teacher looked just like Capt Kangaroo.

I have such a warped sense of humor - I used to LIVE for the stupid jokes that Mr. Moose would tell and then all the ping pong balls would fall on the Captain's head! I guess I was just easily amused!!!

You can blame the Hamburgler too!:rotfl:

But speaking of shows I just loved the old time Nickelodeon. I could watch 'You Can't Do That On Television' all day.

When I read this, it reminded me of "That's Incredible". They would show different things each show, but I still only remember the stories they showed about ghosts and a few yuckie medical stories. I watched it all of the time, but it scared me!

I really miss family sit coms like the Cosby Show, Full House, etc. You know, stuff that the whole family could watch. Oh and remember when MTV actually showed music videos?

I used to watch this every morning. I had forgotten all about the ping pong balls dropping. Too funny! :lmao: I never tried to do any of his crafts but they were always pretty cool. Thanks for the good memories!

I had forgotten about the ping pong balls too. That was too funny and the face Captain Kangaroo would make was hilarious.

Remember Dancing Bear on Captain Kangaroo? He used to make me cry because I was so sad that he couldn't talk. His mouth had no opening.:lmao:....just a big old smile.

On My Three Sons, there was a 2 part episode where Ernie ran away....maybe it was Chip, but I think it was Ernie. My mother told me I fretted the entire week until he came home safely.

Regarding Bonanza, I remember my parents saying the last thing a girl should do is marry a Cartwright, because it was a guaranteed way to die fast. :rotfl2: They barely lasted an episode before they all met tragic deaths......Even all three of Papa Ben's wives. :scared:

My father was a Western junkie. We also watched The Virginian....James Drury was sooo handsome..., High Chaparral, Big Valley, The Guns of Will Sonnet, The Wild West and pretty much any other western on TV. Gunsmoke was a given.

Has anyone mentioned The Courtship of Eddie's Father?

On one of our first dates, DH took me to see Red Skelton when he came to our college. Both of us had loved him as little children. He was ANCIENT, but still so funny and the audience was full of people who had adored him growing up.

DH's roommates did not ask their dates to go see Red Skelton that night, but opted for other things instead, thinking it would not be a "cool" enough date. (All of them were pretty much on first or almost first dates with the girls in question.) When the other 3 girls found out DH was taking me to see Red Skelton, they were all so envious and wanted to know why their dates weren't taking them! Score one for DH for not giving a rat's hiney about what is cool, so long as we like it. :cheer2:

Does anyone remember the cartoon character whose line was, "Exit, stage right"? You guys have got my mind in a tailspin. DH could not remember the character's name either.

OK now did anyone ever use those S&H greenstamps and ever get anything???

The smell of shoe polish was a fragrance I smelt often, I usually found every mud puddle to jump in.

Oh little playmate come out and play with me was the tune we did those hand smakcing games too!
