35 restaurants removed from the 2026 Disney Dining Plan

IIRC, this is a regular occurrence at year end. Participating restaurants need to negotiate the terms of the year. Some of them (particularly those run by 3rd parties) take longer to reach agreement. Watch for many of these to be added back in the next few weeks.
I think you're right, I remember last year this being brought up. I will say I wonder if the "Kids Dine Free" promo may play in to this a bit this year. Disney MAY (pure speculation) try and pass some of the losses from that promo to the reimbursement rates. Many QS restaurants aren't hurting nearly as bad Some TS for diners, that I wouldn't be shocked if some don't sign up (Polite Pig)

Not unusual BUT I feel the same as you ... the Kid's Free offered ALL year is quite a commitment, especially for non-Disney restaurants who get no benefit from full hotel rooms.

Now one thing that happens by this point is that restaurants have to negotiate reimbursement as you say and when it isn't enough for the restaurants on specific items it sometimes changes the menu to eliminate popular items that will cost them too much. If I were a restaurant and this was hitting my profits too hard I might change what I offered on the kid's menu. Offer low cost items. While they are trying to figure all this out some might not accept the plan right away.

It isn't so bad when they offer "free" dining because hotels can control how many rooms they offer (and costs them & restaurants) but now that every kid eats free on the plan ... that is quite the hit for hotels and restaurants.

Well that sucks. Goodbye Chefs De France. It was one of my favorites and I had a reservation for next month which I have now cancelled. The problem is at this late date, the pickings are slim. Could not find anything else in Epcot so have to head back to MK for dining.

You cancelled based on click bait? Ouch. Maybe re-read the comments here and grab that ADR back, you can cancel up to 2 hours before you dine…

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say they’re heading to MK for dining since EP doesn’t have anything else. Points for a fresh perspective!
