Remember these?

OMG! I loved those!

We used to do a clap game about Dr. Pepper. I cannot remember it...anyone know?

We did one....something about.... oboe see otten cotten.......and another...miss Mary Mack, all dressed in black...

Ours started something like..bo bo see otten notten nay nay nay nay nay bo bo, but we had two different versions of the rest.

Remember the one where you change the first letter of your name...
Daisy, Daisy, doe Daisy, banana fanna foe Faisy, me my mo Maisy, Daisy. But if you started with certain names you said a very bad work in there somewhere.:rolleyes1

OK now did anyone ever use those S&H greenstamps and ever get anything???

The smell of shoe polish was a fragrance I smelt often, I usually found every mud puddle to jump in.

Oh little playmate come out and play with me was the tune we did those hand smakcing games too!

I remember green stamp books. My dad collected them but I have no idea what we ever got with them. I too remember those hand clapping games.

Oh playmate, come out and play with me
And bring your dollies three
Climb up my apple tree
Slide down my rainbow
Into my cellar door
And we'll be jolly friends
Forever more, more, more, more.

Not sure about the second line but I think that's what it was!

And the second verse:

I'm sorry playmate,
I can not play with you.
My dolly has the flu,
Boo hoo boo hoo boo hoo.
I have no rainbow.
I have no cellar door.
But we can still be friends,
Forever more!

I remember him and I had only forgotten one line of the song! I didn't remember how creepy he looked. There were several with him. I learned how to make popsicles with toothpicks, plastic wrap and an ice cube tray by watching him!

ROFL...I remember him!! My DH always uses the phrase "Stacks of snacks" which came from one of those segments! Too funny!!

The Name Game

And I will admit I taught this song to my DD when she was around 3, and purposely used those names (well, we used words she knew, like duck) and it completely cracked me up.

Thankfully, she doesn't remember this at 5! :lmao:

S&H Greenstamps are how my DH and I got our first electric skillet. The color was avocado green which was all the rage. Do they still make electric skillets?

Does anyone remember this?

I had one as well as the thick plastic records and record player. Man, things were definitely durable back then.

We still have DH's from when he was a kid! We have the lonesome ghosts one and it still works. He had a couple of others, but we could only watch them a couple of times before they broke.

He also had a Bionic man where you looked through his eye and he had a space capsule thing with it. We got rid of it, but I think DH misses it!

My brother had the Bionic Man. I started looking at all the other toys from that link I posted and man, I must have had A LOT of toys because I remember so many of them.:goodvibes

Now that we are on the subject of toys, I am in need of finding a toy. When I was a baby (in the 70's) I had a baby doll that was my constant companion. I called her 'snuggles' but I am not sure if that was the name of the doll. She had a yellow jammie/body and red hair. She also had a string in the back and when you pulled it her head would move from side to side (she didn't talk). I saved her with many items until my nasty ex tossed her away when we were getting a divorce. I have looked everywhere and I thought as long as we are on the subject of hard to find items someone out there may know what I am talking about.

I just was thinking of some more shows...

Davey and Goliath
ABC after school specials...I use to love these shows!
The Electric Company was a fantastic way to learn..
Also, there was a a movie called Bad Ronald...It scared me for years!! :scared:
