Here is a good link discussing dress code on the cruise. There will be two cruise casual nights, one pirate / tropical theme night, and one semiformal night. Of course if you want to skip one of those, you can go to the cabanas or get room service.

The main thing I have heard to avoid while dining is tank tops, shorts and denim.

Okay I hate to ask silly questions, but what about kids? Denim jeans not okay? Casual shorts? I didn't realize there was a semi-formal night. I have a friend who has sailed DCL 6 times now and told me it was only casual. Also we prepaid our gratuities so if we order room service, do they still suggest 18%? Now we will miss out on one of the restaurants since we rotate. Oh well.

Hi Wendy:

I don't remember anyone being turned away due to how they were dressed. As long as you are comfortable being with others that may be dressed up a little.....don't sweat it.

I asked Janet and my girls, and none of us remember having nice cloths on last two cruises, and we did dinner rotation every night. Come as you are.....just come and have fun!

Don't stress about semi-formal dress. Last two cruises we did the entire rotation and I wore capri's and and a nicer top and flip flops! Kids wore khaki shorts and polo tops. People wear all sorts of things from gowns to shorts. It's all good. They will not turn anyone away and you won't feel out of place. Hey - I'm on vacation and I spent a lot of money to have fun. I'm not getting dressed up! By the way, your kids are beautiful!

Rae - what's up with your TA? Is she near you? I'd drive over and have a "talk" with her!

We have so much to do. Still working on kids FE gifts, Janet is still working on the older kids & adult gifts, still only one of two FE's made. Janet is making Robin a Pirate might outfit. Jennifer's car is broken down 6 hours away in Virginia......I am a little over stressed about getting her home.....she is working till Tuesday night.

But one way or the other (God willing) next Friday......just about this time of day.....all the stress and worry will be over and we will be getting on the long awaited Disney Dream vacation. Getting our lunch.....looking at all the sights, maybe trying the aqua duck....or at least swimming in a pool.....counting down the time till we all meet out new friends.....putting names with faces is always so much fun

Okay thanks, it's just that every time we buy him a suit type outfit, he wears it once and then outgrows it. The rest of us are good though.

We are leaving Tuesday, got the house all cleaned but by then you probably won't even be able to tell. I'll be doing laundry again Monday, and then again Thursday at the resort, really don't want to on the cruise. I found my son some shorts for school at Kmart for 50% off, it is tax-free weekend here in NC. Nobody should run out of clothes now

Are you using the Purex 3-n-1 sheets? I have heard some bad things about them. Have you used them before with success? Did you ever get the mystery grease stains?

The funny thing is I am a mechanic and I have my own shop, but she is 6 hours away.....hence my stress.

Actually the shop in VA has been very helpful, but the car needs a head gasket.....and they don't do engine work. So after vacation, I will drive to VA and tow the car back, so I can fix it at my shop. We are going just rent her a car on Wednesday, so Jenn can get home and get all her wash done and her bags packed.

We are a family of five, we sailed twice on the Wonder. Both times we just sat alone as a family. I don't remember if others sat with larger groups, nor do I remember anyone asking us if we preferred to dine alone or with other families.

Oh, Judy you have no idea. She is in New Jersey and she sucks! We finally got our travel documents but the magical express tags were not in it. And she never sent them to my mom in pgh. Don't know what we are to do with our luggage? Then I went to do the online check in for Riverside and it says we check out on Saturday and not Friday. I asked her if we were overcharged. I'm not happy right now.

Hi All! I am reading, but have not had a chance to post much this week. I have had family in town visiting all week and they are interrupting my Dis time! My sister and her family will be leaving tomorrow and then I can get packing. I feel so behind!

Hey everyone. I've been hiding this week. Was at work today and looked at my phone...I shrieked a little when I saw my countdown app said 3 days on it! Thought it'd never get here.

Judy, all I'm gonna say is that is absolutely insane!!!!!!

Gary, sorry to hear about the car problems! Thank goodness for rentals and dad's who can fix things! Seems like an awful lot of car issues here... hmm... perhaps I should take the bus until Tuesday?

Rae, I'd be going nuts if I were you. Are you just missing the ME tags? Or DCL tags? If only ME, you can take your luggage claim tickets to the ME counter at the airport and they'll still deliver your luggage to the hotel. Have you heard back from her about the Riverside dates being messed up? She had to have overcharged you since you're not even staying that night!

Waiting on my packing cubes before I start packing. (Here I am procrastinating again.) They attempted delivery yesterday but nobody was home. Who knew you'd have to sign for packing cubes?? Hopefully they're here today with the second attempt.

Hi everybody, 6 more days!

CareBear we are leaving Tuesday too! Staying at Shades of Green. What parks are you going to? We will be going on the 16th too. Just can't decide, depends on the weather, want to go to the water parks too.

Levisfam we are on the same deck!

Gary, it doesn't matter either way, just wondering. We are a family of 5 and believe we sat with another family of 5 on the Carnival in '07.

We're going to Epcot on Wednesday for my birthday and I think a water park on Thursday. Although, if Meagan (who is Wintermouse and a total lurker on this thread!!!!!!) gets her way we'll end up spending time at MK on Wednesday too.

I still don't know what pass I'm getting. Was going for a one day base ticket, but we're going in May for a week so I may get a longer no expiration one. I think I found the room key with my water parks left on it. If I'm wrong, then pool it is!

We plan to arrive at AKL around noon on Wednesday, lunch at AKL then be at Disney Studios until 4 then boat to Epcot for dinner at Coral Reef and remainder of evening at Epcot (Illuminations at 9). Thursday will be AK in the morning then to Epcot for the afternoon, dinner at Cape May Cafe at 5 then to MK for the evening(Wishes at 10). Then back to AKL to sit on the verandah and watch the animals with night vision goggles. Then I die. I hope I can keep up with them! As you can tell we got park hoppers. Wishing I had added another day and left on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. Something tells me we will never be able to do everything they planned.

Rae - I hope you get everything straightened out. Nobody needs that stress.

I've never had a problem with the Purex sheets before. Admittedly I've only used them a few times. I did 3 loads of laundry today and used them for all 3. I checked everything out as I was loading it into the dryer and I couldn't find any spots. I'll always look from now on though!

I plan on finishing packing tomorrow and then a haircut on Monday after work. I had it cut 2 weeks ago but the lady didn't cut it short enough. I told her in the beginning how much I wanted off. After she was done I told her to take another inch off and she kept giggling and barely took off 1/4". I gave up and decided I'd just go back and have my regular lady do it. After that I should be ready to roll!

Cara, I just started packing up my girls clothes and such tonight and it is pretty great how organized I am on the trip. I love the packing cubes!! It is going to be great just unzipping the packing cubes and placing them in the drawers and voila, we are unpacked. That usually takes me about 15 minutes to get everything organized. I hope you love them! What color(s) did you get? We have grasshopper, pink and black.

6 days to go until we are all aboard the dream!! Have to take DD to get her pedicure and haircut (and maybe the little one if she cooperates!). Our tradition we do before a cruise!

Gary, so stressful about your DD's car. It sounds like you have a good plan, though.
