Adults only resort on property

As someone who doesn't have children (would love some but unfortunately not to be), I can't imagine not staying in a resort without children around.

Whether adult only resort or not, people tend to not consider other people and I'm sure I'm not alone in having experienced the family or adults from 'hell' at a resort ;)

I've been to resorts in Europe that have adult only pools which putting it mildly have been anything other than relaxing after alcohol is consumed in large quantities.

An adults only resort on property? I'd be there in a heartbeat. I love kids. But if we aren't travelling with family I would love a place that would be quieter- not just the rooms, but the public areas as well. I'd even be willing to go deluxe to get this.

me too. hubby and I like to stay a few nights without kids or grandkids.
the biggest draw? a hot tub that didn't allow kids in it!

While I think an adults only hotel would be a great idea and one that would pay off for Disney I would not be interested in staying there.

I like kids and enjoy watching them play so I would feel like something was missing if I was in an adults only setting.

Now my youngest DS might visit WDW more often if he could escape kids in his hotel :lmao: He has no patience with kids who are acting up (and if there is going to be a meltdown anywhere on property it will be near him) so after a few days he gets a bit antsy.

I would try an adult-only resort. I bet the pool would be a much more relaxing experience! Maybe they could even offer rooms with jacuzzis like so many other resorts (off property) do.

I would also like it to have a retro-arcade with classic games from the 80s. Kids these days won't play those, but I know a ton of adults who would love it!

OMG, that would be so cool. I moved back home briefly after college in 1982. We had a local bar that was the place to be seen and they got a pac-man machine. I remember many a night waiting my turn....

I could bet that someone would be sueing Disney for not letting their little snowflake in the room with them

I think the whole resort should be set up with King size beds & only 2 in the room - maybe theme on Honeymoon type stuff so very on the romace
would love it if I was going without boys but since my youngest keep packing for us going - I don't see it happening

My daughter is college age and I would definitely stay at an adults only resort with her. I doubt Disney would do this, but yes, I would like it. We see enough children enjoying their days at the parks, so that quota is filled for me, lol. ;)

I know it will never happen, but I would totally stay there if it was an option.

I love some of the suggestions mentioned in this thread...
king size beds
pool parties
later hours for the pool bar
more jacuzzis
movies for an older audience in the evenings
non-character breakfast buffet
mini-bars in the rooms

It would be great if it wasn't graded in terms of value, moderate, deluxe but had varied prices in the same resort where the rate is based on the room's size, amenities, view/location.

Kids at the resorts don't bother me one bit. BUT....kids in the hot tubs do. So, for me, it would be a wonderful thing if they had an adults only pool area, with hot tub. Over 21...period. I hate being at the pool with teens, especially boys, who are horsing around and making a huge commotion. Yes, it's a family pool, but I have had to leave pool areas due to teens playing their pool games (marco polo, etc) in the pool and constantly being banged into or tripped over.
And to have to share a hot tub with little kids??? Not so much fun. So, I avoid them now.
But, actually in the resort? Haven't had an issue yet. Well, other than kids running down the hallways on their way out, or in, and hitting the doors as they pass by. But that was only one time.
But man, it sure would be nice to have a kids free zone at the pool.

I agree. DH and I don't have any kids and would love the romantic opportunity. We would also love Deluxe.

I don't know if I care so much whether a resort is adults only or not but I see nothing wrong with it. It won't happen but I can see where some others would love it.

I like staying where the kids stay, well at Disney anyway. I like seeing their excitement at everything and anything. The only thing I could do with is an adults-only pool - like others said I'd really love to have a hot tub with no kids in it and no chance of a code brown. Especially in the evenings when all I want to do is wind down.

Wouldn't 18 and over be considered "adult"?

Also, I agree about the hot tubs. When we went to Florida when I was 8, we did not stay onsite, but every hot tub said must be over 14 to enter. I find it pretty uncomfortable when I'm trying to relax in a hot tub and there are 4 year olds staring at me.

I REALLY don't mind kids, have no issues with noise, or them splashing, etc I love to see them having a great time. BUT I think they should abide by the rules and keep the kids out of the hottub.

To also jump on this bandwagon, I would pay extra to fly an adult-only airline, or take an adult-only flight on an existing airline...........IN. A. HEARTBEAT. My last flight to Orlando was a nightmare due to a fussy toddler in full on fit mode for three and a half hours straight. When even the flight attendants are threatening to drug your kid, you know you have a problem.

To clarify, if Disney built a resort that catered only to adults: Would you stay there? Why or why not?

Just curious...

I would definitely try it out, but I am usually more bothered by other adults than by children lol.

I would definitely try it. I enjoy seeing the kids' delight to things, and enjoy interacting with well-behaved kids, but I've seen parents ignore their kids who were doing things they shouldn't, as if they were taking a vacation from all rules and manners, or leaving their young children untended at the pool while they went off to get a drink or something. (It's not the kids I mind, it's the adults not taking responsibility for their kids.) Of course, some would probably take a vacation from rules and manners at an adults-only resort, too.
