Adults only resort on property

I wouldn't mind seeing a restaurant or pool at each of the resorts,(be it value to deluxe) designated for adults only.:beach: I'm not sure whether an entire resort is needed.
They do this on the cruise ships, and it works well. Designated adult only beach on Cast Away Cay as well. :thumbsup2
I might add that we've seen this at many resorts, including campgrounds that are extremely family oriented.
We were hesitant about a Disney Cruise, expecting that the kid factor would be too overwhelming. Surprisingly, that was not at all our experience.
We were very pleasantly surprised, and even commented at the time how nice it would be if the WDW resorts offered the same type of amenities.
For the record..have three adult children. Our first trip as a family was in "91 with a 6 week old,4 year old and an 11 year old. Been to Disney MANY times over the years as the family grew. Something for everyone, especially when you have some age differences involved. That being said, I've traveled with children of all ages for most of our lives, and have ZERO issues with a particular pool or dining establishiment being for adults only. :wizard:

For sure. Our kids are all adults now so we would try it-would prefer a deluxe walking dist to EPCOT, maybe on the monorail if poss.

I think you might have answered your own question.. :lmao:

Family kid friendly resort... There will be tons of children and some will be running around because there will be tons of children's activities going on around the resort all day. There will also be activities for teenagers. The resort will also encourage for parents to join along.

Noise will be expected. Babies are welcome to cry because that what they do. Toddlers are welcome to cry too! :) There will be a kid friendly club, just like on the DCL. There will be clubs for toddlers/kinder group. 6-10 yr old group, there will be 11-13 yr old group.. and there will be 14-17 year old group. Or however they have it set up at DCL.

There won't be any fancy restaurants, but a huge food court and there will be some actions there too! There will be no spa. This resort is all about families with children because this resort is catered to children.

I know it will benefit our family because we're all about fun fun fun!! We like to engage in fun activities! We like to be in the middle of action. If this is not your cup of tea... then you will not be happy in this resort. Or if you want a trip that is more relaxing, laid back and quiet.. Then this is not the resort for you.

In other words, what most of the resorts are like now.

This T I double guh err would definitley try it out. I am thinking split stay.

3 days at a normal resort to watch the kids
3 days at Adult only to refresh from seeing kids
3 days at normal resort again to reaffirm my newfound belief that adults are worse than kids! pirate:

As OPs have mentioned, it would depend on the price. Mind you it would be nice to have an adult only pool, hotel and restaurant where you could decompress from all that it Disney! Yes, I would try it, but I think most people who are seriously considering an adult only venue, book an all inclusive resort because of the facilities, food and watersports! Access to a theme park is not an important priority at an all inclusive resort!

which is why huby and I would be glad to try and adult only resort at WDW. because the theme park is a priority for us.

love them, love kids! (have 5 grandkids). but to come back to a resort without kids would be a pleasure.

:rotfl2::cool1::cheer2:

Even better would be if they had an adult only hotel and a kids only hotel. It could be like the kids clubs, but you drop them off for the length of your trip and meet up with them for dinner and such. :scratchin

I hope it is obvious that I am joking.

Interesting idea... I think it would be a nice oPtion but I m not too sure if it would be successful

As a single adult traveler, no kids currently with a rapidly decreasing likelihood of that ever happening...

The presence or absence of kids isn't really a factor by which I judge resorts. I wouldn't necessarily NOT stay at an adult-only resort, but it would have to be sufficiently Awesome in theme and amenities. I like staying at BLT due to the monorail & boat access to 3 other resorts with all manner of restaurants and bars (with specialty drinks:drinking1). I'm absolutely in love with AKL because the theme speaks to my soul and it feels like home. This new resort would have to be something really special to drag me away from AKL.

Heck yeah! for the relaxation and the peace and quiet. I little time away from the 'meltdowns'...hah! :goodvibes

I think this question would make for a great poll. :)

I think people are making a mistake thinking that if they are at a adults only resort, it will somehow be perfectly quiet. I've had enough encounters with irate, screaming adults at WDW to not be so sure about that!

at least at an adults only resort, you wouldn't have those loud pool parties at the main pool with the preteen/pop music playing so loudly, and the microphones volume so high.

oh, and no listening to "marco! polo!"

...and no parents yelling for or at their kids.

Yes, we would stay at an "adults only" resort - at least once to try it out. Our children and g'children are special, but stranger's children, not so much.;)

Not that I don't love children, but seems we have to be around so many misbehaving/out of control ones at Disney, and parents that won't/can't (whatever) do anything to correct the situation. It would be nice to be away from that for part of the time.

Very interesting question! I WOULD definitely. Perhaps an adults only section of a hotel/resort could actually happen?

Love kids. Mom of two boys (16 and 18). I would stay there.

The thought of reading a book by the "big" pool without listening to pre-teen pop music blaring sounds heavenly. (And no matter how far away you move, you can't escape those DJ's in the afternoon.) And as goofy4tink said, kid-free hot tubs would be nice. Make them a little deeper so that the water comes up to the shoulders instead of your waistline, and make the temperature hotter. When you go to a spa, most places don't even allow kids under 16 or 18 to use the hot tub as it's not good for them.

if this is going to happen can't see Disney doing it.

now DVC probably can - they catered to a different group - and think more singles/couples are here than at the regular disney resorts.

now people with kids definitely stay at DVC resorts too,

What makes you think some 20-somethings or 30-somethings wouldn't be blaring the music at the pool.
