Adults only resort on property

Definitely. I will be going on my honeymoon in 2014, and we don't plan on having kids for awhile. I think it would be more relaxing.

I dunno, [legal] adults can be just as annoying :), especially if it's labeled as "Adult Only" [Rated M for Marketing!]. Now I imagine you may have fewer parents stressing over trying to make the perfect memory for their kids, but I think there are still folks stressing to make their own perfect memories.

As to if I'd stay there. *shrug* Would just be another option for us, a lot really depending on the rest of the elements.

If it was a moderate or value resort I would stay there. I think deluxe is way to expencive.

Same here. With that said, I would be MUCH more interested in adult only dining areas offered at some of the sit down restuarants.

Naw, at this point in our lives we wouldn't stay at an adults only resort, and I totally agree that the adults staying at an adult only resort might even be MORE annoying that kids.

I'd like to see an adult only hotel on property, but at the value or moderate level. Generally, those who can afford the expensive hotels can afford to send their kids somewhere else!!! Those who can only afford value would probably appreciate the break from kids more!!!!

I'm not understanding this. We are lucky enough to be able to stay at Deluxe resorts, but if we're going to WDW...why would we be sending our kids somewhere else? Why does less income mean you need a break from your kids more than someone else? Sincerely not trying to start something up, but I don't get this.
I'm not understanding this either.. :confused3 I don't get it..

-stewed prunes on the breakfast menu?:lmao:
-mimosas on the breakfast menu? :thumbsup2
-REAL coffee
-instead of kid's clubs in the evening how about masseuses giving foot and leg massages for guests returning from the parks?
-instead of disney movies by the pool, how about live music by the pool bar (which would be open til midnight).
-ALL the pools are quiet pools
-The resort is a hub and spoke arrangement with the main building in the center so that no room is a hike to the dining areas.

For the over 65 crowd:
-Maybe a "People Mover" ride that takes you to all areas of the resort
-Comfort height (high) toilets
-Nice lounge with oldies music
-Everyone has to dress in "assisted living" clothing
-All waiters have to speak very loud when explaining the specials on the menu

And 4:15 dinner special that includes baked haddock and a cup of sanka.

That is a good one.

At least one night liver and onions.....

Of course not! This is DISNEY! This WORLD is made FOR kids... including a grumpy old bear like me... ;)
Griz

Disney is for kids of all ages! I like watching the whole family with kids enjoying themselves. To me, that's part of "magic"!! I could go on a trip to Disney by myself, but I choose not to, because I know I won't have fun without the children. They are part of the equation to make the trip "magical". So, I guess I wouldn't stay there.

If they are going to build an adult only resort... then they should also build a resort for families with children only. No adults are allowed unless they have children under 18. It's fair. It can go both ways. :)

Even better would be if they had an adult only hotel and a kids only hotel. It could be like the kids clubs, but you drop them off for the length of your trip and meet up with them for dinner and such. :scratchin

I hope it is obvious that I am joking.

You are my hero

Nah, I wouldn't, every nasty tempered human being I've encountered at WDW was an adult. The kids are generally just excited.

I'm not really sure what the point of that would be, exactly?

Like, you can kind of see how children can change the dynamic of an adults-only place... but how do childless adults change the dynamic of a resort where there are adults there anyway?

Doesn't matter much to me. Both are extremely hypothetical.

I would stay there once my kids are grown assuming I cannot talk my kids into bringing my future grandkids.

While I adore Coach bags too (the only brand I've even bought in the past ten years or so), I thought your name was an ode to one of my favorite Survivor players. I saw when your account was created as well as your quote and realized you were talking about actual Coach bags.

If you are also a CoachBag from Survivor fan, that is really awesome!

Prior to Coach, I used to buy Dooney. If those Disney bags get any cuter, I may have to betray my Coach loyalty.

I don't know that i would stay there (heck I still have a kid in diapers), but I think it is an interesting concept. It could really bring another dynamic to WDW catering to singles and those without children (or grown children) and market WDW to that demographic more which I don't think they currently do. I don't know if it would fill or not, though.

No as the kids do not in 65 trips bother me at all..some adults get on my nerves
however my sister never had kids so she might be inclinded to. Her only problem with kids is IF they are not well behaved--like our cousins kids...

I so would and I do have kids, but we still plan on going to Disney once they're grown and on their own. I would love it! No more "code brown" in the pools, :rotfl2:

Obviously you haven't seen the movie Grown Ups...hilarious btw!

Thank you so much for taking interest on my post!! :) I like being quoted sometimes.. It makes me feel a little special! :lmao: The dynamic is... FOR ME.. I want all the children to have a wonderful "Magical" time without being ... "hushed." The children can't splash in the pool because there are adults staring at them because they are getting slightly wet while they are in the pool?? You're in the pool, you're suppose to get wet. There is the difference of splashing water at them as purposely oppose to just getting splashed. Well you know what I mean... Who kid will have fun if they just stand there and don't do anything. Of course kids would like to have fun. That's the DYNAMIC of it all! I have seen some adult looking at other children ugly because they are laughing out loud and playing around. I mean it's Disney, children are to be expected everywhere... And children will be children. Now if there are resorts for families with children only, then the children can behave like children. I don't mean... children being obnoxious or rude. Just happy excited kids who just want to have fun! :) When I'm at Disney, sometimes I forget that I am an adult! I feel like a kid again! Yes, I will have a wonderful time with my children and I don't think adults should look at us as if we are bugs ready to be squished. We're in Disney!

Of course.. We can agree.. to disagree. :)

Well, just to play devil's advocate: you don't think parents of a 16 or 17 year old wouldn't be just as likely to "give the look" to splashing toddlers as, say, empty nesters with no kids to travel with under 18?

I dunno. Seems like flawed logic. But we shall agree to disagree.

I tend to hate other people's children.

I'd go alone and take my husband only if there were an adults only hotel. It would be really relaxing to have a quiet refuge after a day in the parks. I'm kind of sad that Bistro de Paris added a kids menu. That and V&A's were the only two adults only places in the World.

No, I would not be going to WDW on an adults only trip. I'd be going elsewhere. There is no getting away from kids at WDW, even if you are staying in a resort that bans kids. They are still in the restaurants and the parks.

Host many playdates? ;)

Exactly! :goodvibes We can agree to disagree! I see things differently.. It must be my amazing contact lenses! :lmao: Flawless logic.. It is your opinion. I respect that. :flower3:
