This talk of engagment/wedding rings is funny.
We took my ring to be resized yesterday. I was telling Bill "My finger has gotten bigger in 19 years". He said "You have had that ring for 19 years?". :rotfl: What a romantic. ;)
We did not have the romantic proposal. It was more like me saying "You know I am the one that knows about jewelry. Please do not surprise me". He was so relieved!! He basically said look and let me know what you want. I designed my own wedding and I did a great job if I do say so myself.

We talked a little about what I might like..(I love jewelry!) so he knew an antique setting would be what I would like. Brendan picked out the center diamond of my ring in St Martin on our 1st Disney cruise in Aug 06. He ordered the ring in Oct 06 and picked it up in Feb of 07. Held on to it until our Aug 07 WDW trip...asked my dad for permission and then on our last day of our trip 9/1/07 he asked in WDW..you all know the rest of the story!
He did a real good job...but don't know how he kept the secret!

I think that this isn't the norm or we would have heard about it before  - some people just aren't considerate. I hope they don't close the laundry room until 8am - I prefer to do it early like 6am. If they are going to close it I hope they think about 1am-6am

I saw that post also. Although I don't agree with people being noisy in the middle of the night, I hope they don't close the laundry rooms, or like you said, they open it earlier than 8 am. I would love to be able to get it done early while everyone else is still sleeping. I'm already anticipating having to do laundry 2-3 times while on board. I'd hate to have to spend a whole sea day waiting in line to use the laundry facilities. :(

We were directly across the hall from the deck 2 laundry room on our last cruise. I actually loved that location. I could pop across the hall and throw a load of clothes in while my 4 month old napped. I was kind of disappointed that we couldn't get in the same location this time around.

Interesting. Hope she won't get asked to not cruise DCL again for posting the details of the credit. Remember last week's RCCL couple (or was it this week??)

The couple on RCCL had a habit of consistantly (every cruise?) finding things to complain about and posted on boards multiple times how much they received for each type of complaint.

I personally think they got what they deserved. If you find fault with every single cruise then I don't think that cruise line (or cruising in general) is for you! Find another way to get free stuff!

We are next to that laundry room in question..I hope I won't have to use my teacher voice to have people quiet down!:lmao:
But honestly people need to be conscientious of the hour..it's courtesy...

I agree - maybe they had too many :drinking1

Today I pulled out my scrapbook from our 2005 Mex Riviera cruise on the Magic....it makes me even more excited then ever!
A few notes from it...
We were picked up at our house at 9:30am, on the road by 9:50 (by family) and arrived at the port just before 10:30. We were thru the lines and checked in and were in group3 for boarding. I remember having to wait a little bit after this, but I didn't write how long before we boarded. The next pic's we are eating lunch at Topsiders and then hitting the pool for a bit...before a Dis meet, getting to our cabins, the drill and heading to the Sailaway party!!

We never did any DCL excursions, but in PV we walked to the Krystal Hotel and swam & played on the beach. It was cloudy & drizzly, but warm and we had a nice time. We took a taxi back.

Although we aren't going to Mazatlan this trip, we went to El Cid Resort and swam & beached it again. We enjoyed doing this type of activity, on our own time and there was always a ride available to and from. Here, we asked our cab driver about some of the sites, and for $10 bucks he took us on a short 40 minute tour of nearby things to see, and to the top of a hill where we got a great picture of the Magic.

In Cabo, we had a van (10 of us) take us to the beach to rent waverunners. It was right next door to the Mango Deck, so we were able to eat chips & salsa & have a margarita with our feet in the sand. Everybody had an excellent time here, it was our favorite port. My daughter had her hair braided here too (the 2nd time she had it done on the ship, different cruise)

We will most likely do this again and also would like to take a boat to the Arch this time.

We do not have any excursions booked for Acapulco, and from reading lately, I'm glad. We would really like to see the cliff divers, so we may just take transportation over to see that and then get back on board the ship. Its dissapointing to read how pushy, scary and dirty the water & area has been for the WB'ers.

Just thought I'd share a few past trip thoughts...

I think we're going to go to Krystal also. We're booked on the Paradise Village Beach Resort excursion, but I've heard Krystal is just as nice and much closer. :thumbsup2 We're just looking for a nice place for the kids to swim and have fun.

For which port? :confused3

For the pirate bus: We are fine with paypal, although I have never used it. Do I have to set up an account?

We are not sure about Acapulco. I am thinking we might cancel, but I will watch for reports from the next couple of cruises and see if there have been any improvements. I would hope that if people aren't happy, they would attempt to improve the excursion. I really only wanted to see the cliff divers as well, but felt that Acapulco would not be some place I would ever come back to (unless we do this cruise again some day) which was why we chose this excursion. I will wait a little while and see....

The Mexican Riviera cruises will not be stopping in Acapulco

Hello, Pirates!

I'm waaaay behind, not even gonna try to catch up totally! We had a great time in Williamsburg last weekend (sorry did not see you, Theresa, but we did love the Griffon ride!).

Happy celebrations to all that I missed!

Prayers to all that are in need!

Hubbie and I are over 40; I am actually celebrating my 50th (late).

My menfolk will NOT be wearing tuxes; I will be grateful just to get them in ties and jackets! Not sure if I will get a gown as I don't own one and I can't see me looking good in one after almost two weeks of eating. Depends upon what I see in July.

Got a call that they canceled the teen banana boat ride. Fortuately they aren't too diasappointed. Something to do with the vendor. As long as the eco-tour isn't canceled!

Has anyone had a manicure onboard? My sister thought she might like to choose that for her gift.

Oh don't tempt me! I will use it! I used my teacher voice when I went out with 12 friends a few weeks ago! (Yes they all laughed and said "we know who is a teacher!):lmao:

LUCKY! Have a fun and safe trip!

Hi Everyone! This is my first post on this meet. We will be sailing with you all. We are a family of 4. My husband and myself and we have a boy(9) and a
girl(7). I have been lurking and have been encouraged to join the meet, so I am giving it a try. We have all our excursions booked and we are in a cat 6 gty. We have late dining but are wait listed for early. Is there any family out there who knows if you can share a table. On our past Disney cruise we were seated at a table for 4. I think it could be fun to sit with other people on such a long trip. Is there somewhere that the kids can meet (e-mail etc).
Thanks, hope to talk to you all!

Welcome Neighbor!

This is for Roger as well as your family if interested...

We're going to Sycamore Canyon /Cove on Sunday for a sunset marshmello toasting and hot dog roasting. We'll be at Sycamore Cove from approximately 4:45 or 5PM until about an hour after sunset. Look for our cluster of families near the slump block building that serves as a ranger office on top and bathroom facility on the bottom. You should park OUTSIDE of the beach area because the rangers will force you to take your cars out by sunset - so park along PCH about 40 yards PRIOR to reaching the beach FROM THE NORTH. Right AT the beach parking is not allowed - but 40 yards back is a long stretch that only prohibits parking from 10PM to 3AM. No need to bring anything as we'll have lite dinner fare and all the wood - mashmellos, a gas grill (if I can find the time to prep it) , and chocolate, ghram cracjkers for making smores, plus hot dogs, chicken and burgers. Lite fare strictly IF I get my gas grill ready in time. If not - then it will be really lite snacks of some sort- consider it a lite pot luck if you'd like to bring anything - and dress to layer up for the weather. PM me if you have any further questions...

I gotta go to gymnastics nowe - then I'm taking the kids to dinner while we run towards the airport to pickup Alicia - as she's returning from her company training in Chicago. Hope everyone had a great friday and has an even better weekend!
